Hull have bid £3.5m for Odubajo, and £4m for Gray.

We've turned down the Gray bid, holding out for £7m, club called it derisory.

Not sure what's happening with the Odubajo bid. It's a lot of profit on a player we signed for £1m a year ago, but I think he's one of the best right backs in the league, and has the potential to get much better. Also as he is our only right back (or at least the only one I think is good enough to play in the team) so I don't think we should accept.

Apparently they have triggered his release clause with that bid. Seems a bit silly to have such a low release clause in his contract when it was obvious how much potential he had when we signed him? Would be a poor move for Moses imo, he is destined to play in the premier league, another season progressing like he has been with us then I think he will be getting much more attractive offers.

What are your thoughts on Jon Toral? We've got him on a season-long loan

Didn't know he had one. Does seem very stupid to have such a low release clause.

IMO the two irreplaceable players in our team are Odubajo and Jota. Would hate to see either leave.

Darikwa would have been my choice to replace Odubajo if we did have to sell him, so gutted he's moved on already.

Good player. We have better, but will do a good job at this level.

That's a really good signing, good player. Very inconsistent though and tends to drift out of games. When he was on his game he was very good. He couldn't get a run in the team though simply because there were better players ahead of him.

Cotterill sounds pretty fucking worried. We have the right to panic now!

I'm incredibly angry tonight. Like, I've got a serious piss on.

Worst part is, I don't know who to be angry at...

Tonight:

A keeper that barely scrapes 6 foot, and one whom I have NO confidence in, despite last season. A LCB in Williams who I don't think will cut it in the Championship. Pack, who I must note am a massive fan of him, but I don't think he's the answer currently. And Wilbraham? Okay, great season last season, but he's 36 fucking years old. He can't be expected to play week in week out. Oh, and our bench? 3 youngsters and 3 players who weren't deemed good enough for our squad last season, so got sent out on loan.

Cotterill's interview... He sounds like a man who has just lost his wife. I've never heard him in interview sound so downbeat.

I need someone to question, just to simply put the blame on someone and ask him 'What the fuck is going on?'

Are there any brains left at the club? Cunningham has fucked off, there was me thinking 'no worry, we wouldn't let him go without a backup...' well, it doesn't seem that way.

And anyone that tries telling me that Levi Ives (17 y/o we've signed) is the answer, I'll have to resist the temptation to ban them from posting in this thread, and the Championship forum for that matter.

Fucking fuming :hb:

Darikwa joins Burnley.

Can't compete with those fuckers in terms of wages anymore which is ironic because it's the trampiest town in England.

Burnley are NOT exactly known for paying high wages (14th highest in 2013/14) so if Preston cannot compete with the Clarets on wages then there cannpt be many championship clubs they can compete against. My advice to Preston, get promoted to the Premier League or find a very rich owner.

Ipswich are close to signing Danish left-back Jonas Knudsen. Played in the Euro U21s this summer and has two full caps, sounds promising.

Sounds bad, especially watching that interview, but I'd blame lack of initiative in the transfer market more than anything. I think, especially at this level, managers are trying to think outside the box too much or can't see the wood for the trees.

I'd bet someone like Jake Buxton, who I imagine will be available to my annoyance, would be perfect. He's a proven top Championship defender, with good technical ability, and a lovely beard to add. There's also players like Dawkins, who has outstanding technical ability, who will struggle to get in our side this season. With both of them, I don't think their presence would weaken us, as such, just don't see a place for them. Bristol are the sort of side who should be taking advantage of that.

The U21 Premier League, should you loan correctly, is a haven of talent too.

I think you've missed a trick by not hitting the transfer market early on - you do have enough to stay up, in my opinion, but it's a shame for your fans you didn't put yourself out more.

We've managed to agree deals to get rid of Majewski and Abdoun and brought in a lad called Pinillos who is a Spanish full back.

2 spaces left in the squad and we are looking at 2 loans, a CDM and a very decent striker on loan with view to a permanent, with the latter close.

Would represent good work for us within our restrictions. Not a penny paid and we've managed to get rid of Mackie, Abdoun, Majewski, Halford, Harding and Collins (well over £100k a week), as well as receive the bulk of the Lascelles and Darlow fee.

In we have brought Ward, Mills, Pinillos, Hamer and the 2 newbies for what, 0 fee and £60k a week maximum.

With Hobbs fit, Reid and Cohen back training, I feel if we can get these 2 more players we need in key positions we will be alright. Nothing special, but a More than competent team.

Obviously keeping Antonio and maybe Lansbury, but definitely Antonio, would be vital.

We've currently got Giles Coke on trial, apparently close to signing. Thoughts, Wednesday fans?

While I agree with your post, we actually employ a very experienced director of football whose remit is to identify and target players. I am pointing the finger at Keith Burt rather than Cott's.
Very, very disappointed!

Mick McCarthy tried to get Giles Coke for Wolves when he was at someone like Mansfield. Thank god we didn't.

Seriously though, there's a player in there but lacks the consistency and mental application, IMHO, we had five years of him at ours.

Do Orient have a sell-on % with Odubajo?

You spent the Lacelles and Darlow fees last year though on Assombalonga?

Something like 20% of profit is what I've heard
Being linked with Dallas from your lot apparently. Seem to recall you saying he could possibly leave this summer but could be wrong? Quite like what I've seen of him. Probably will only get him or Buckley though and not both.

Now you know how we felt 12 months ago when you bought him from us!

We have a sell on clause as well, so this is welcoming from our point of view.

Think we've got a 10% sell on clause.
