We've got Hooper and a CB lined up apparently.

Loads of people on the city forum said they wouldn't want Hooper at Ashton Gate :ffs:

It's ironic that at the moment that every player linked with Bristol City either doesn't want to go to them, or Bristol fans don't seem to want them. Will you guys ever find your perfect match?

Gary Hooper looked fat and shit at Deepdale last season.

I can understand Gayle bumming City off to stay in the PL but I can't see why Gray would rather go to Burnley

Ah. Yeah, got that one wrong. Still not sure how it is happening though as they aren't allowed to buy from us... I'm guessing we must be getting something else as well as the fee.

Who are you likely to replace with, any rumours?
Seb Haller has been linked from Utrecht, 14 goals in the last 17 Eredivisie games. Sunderland have also been linked, but given we've been after him for a while I'd hope we'd be able to seal the deal.

Gutted to lose Gray, but £9m is a lot of money for a forward. We have lost our 3 best attacking players from last year though, Pritchard, Gray & Jota.

What was the arrangement? Excuse my ignorance (and laziness not to Google...)

Nothing seemingly has ever been proven / announced, so no one can be sure what happened. As far as I understand things from reading comments on our forum, it would seem an agreement was struck when our Sporting Director left Brentford for Burnley that he wouldn't be allowed to sign any players currently at the club for his new one, without our consent.

£1.75m bid for Dale Stephens rejected by Brighton.

Don't know much about him, but I'm sure he's not worth that. But then when has a pricetag been sensible this summer?

After watching both Stephens and Reed for Southampton, Reed is better, although they're two very different types of midfielder.

Seen Shrewsbury's Ryan Woods is touted as a possible replacement for Huddersfield, very good player.

Is there really that much difference between what you and Burnley would pay?

Read somewhere you were offering £12k a week. Reckon you've dodged 2 expensive bullets this week.

Just makes it harder/more expensive now for ANY player you're after

I reckon Bristol City have been havin' everybody on with these 2 bids; to keep the disgruntled fans off the managements backs.

It's all very well offering £9m for high profile strikers, but what they're failing to tell you is, they're only willing to pay them £2k/pw.

They've never even had any intention of landing Gayle or Gray, and let the 'sagas' drag out to as close to the transfer window shutting, as poss.

Very clever, but I'm onto you Mr Lansdown.

Have I read that right? Over £5m?!
This sport sucks.
£5m for Butterfield seems like a lot of money...

Then again we just got £9m for Gray.

In for Forestieri (as are others) but might be too expensive.

What kind of player are we getting wolves fans.

He's a decent hard working L1 CM. Played a lot in our promotion season. Could probably do a job in the Championship (we all thought he was going to MK Dons) as well, we just have too many players in his position. Should be a good signing for you, just keep him away from twitter!

Think that puts the final nail in the coffin of our promotion hopes for this season, but undoubtedly leaves us in a much stronger position long term.

Need a couple of top quality signings to come in sharpish, if not more.
