But Freedman spoke to Bowyer about Rhodes, interestingly.
Very odd considering the embargo, but still.

Michael Jacobs has joined Blackpool for the rest of the season to save them from relegation.

Shame he's not come on, such a talented player on his day. Has he played much for you lot?

I went to watch one of my mates play at Northampton a few years back, when he was on loan there from Leicester and Jacobs was the best player on the pitch by a mile. Always kept my eye out for him and then we happened to sign him, did well here but just couldn't nail down a place. Struggled with consistency so we shipped him out to you lot when we were going for it last year. I'd like to see him do well.

It's a strange one to be honest, he was great for us in our promotion season last year, got 8 goals from 30 games in midfield which is a decent return.

For some reason he has hardly featured this season and nobody is really sure why. He has always impressed whenever he has played so dropping him hasn't really made sense. Personally I think he's fallen out with KJ over something.

I go with the fall-out theory as well. Jacobs is a decent player.

Sam Ricketts probably has played his last game for Wolves as he's going to Coventry on loan and is out of contract this summer. Was solid in our promotion season last year but has hardly featured this season due to KJ playing academy kids in his position instead. Good luck to him, is more than good enough for League 1.

Yeh, posted about this on the L1 forum. I like Ricketts too. I associate him more than anyone else with the great turnaround. IIRC he was KJ's first signing.

I reckon he'll sign up with Coventry in the summer.

Ricketts has endeared himself to me, and will always be a player I will always value and appreciate, which is rare considering he only effectively played for one season. I remember away at Chesterfield in pre season he made the players clap the fans and at least acknowledge we were there, which for me was the first of the breaking of the tension between the fans hating the players and wanting them all shot. Someone that gave there all, loved playing and seemed to get the best out of those around him.

He was pretty decent at Peterborough last season from what I remember.

Very hit and miss.

Was excellent for three quarters of last season, not really been involved much this season but not really performed to the same standard when he has.

Sam Ricketts to Swindon is pretty much a done deal now. Very excited about this signing and can hopefully get us automatic promotion.

We've just signed Lionel Stone on a youth loan from Brentford. Any Bees fans able to give us any information on him?

Just after signing a new contract with us, so he's probably expected to make it here at the age of 22, so he needs game time. He's a small pacey and quite skillful winger. Did well in pre-season for us too, but not quite able to get into a top 10 Prem team just yet.

Cameron Stewart has joined Barnsley on loan from Ipswich. Hopefully he'll get regular game time and show what he could do for us.

Being linked with James Wilson from Man Utd, and with Jordan Rhodes again.

One of the never-ending joys of supporting Wolves is watching the daily routine of stating the bleeding obvious to the media and the media duly reporting it like it's some kind of ancient oracle.

"We're not going to sign anyone on an unless they can contribute to our chances of winning promotion this season" says Our Dear Great Leader. (Or words to that specific effect).

And I thought we recruited to players to help other clubs with their wages bill, or to beef up the Academy or to give them different scenery to admire while warming the seats in the dugout.

Is there someone who provides 'Talk Like a Fucking Idiot' training to people in the football industry? It's like someone says "Go out and say something fucking magical, Kenny! Wow them! Give them a sound bite. Make like you're a fucking genius."

"What about 'We shall go on to the end. We shall play in Nottingham, we shall play on the seas and oceans, we shall play with growing confidence and growing strength in the air and at the back, we shall defend our penalty area, whatever the cost may be. We shall play on the beaches, we shall play on the landing grounds, we shall play in the fields and at Molineux; we shall play in the hills; we shall never surrender, and if, which I do not for a moment believe, this club or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Academy beyond the seas, armed and guarded by G4S, would carry on the struggle, until, in God's good time, the sponsors, with all their power and might, step forth to the rescue and the promotion of the old gold!' How about that?"

"No, Kenny. Stick with the revelation that we will sign only loan players who will contribute to our play-off ambitions"

"Oh. OK"

For some reason you remind me of Al Murray going on one of his rants. Just imagine you holding a pint and giving a patriotic speech a out the good old days down at Wolves

That's exactly me. Pint of real ale, none of your foreign fizzy muck. British beer, made with decent British tap water, British hops and a Bulgarian girl's digital design skills for the label and logo. And yes: standing. None of this continental sitting rubbish. Sitting!? If God had meant us to sit at football matches, he'd have made us all Arsenal supporters.

I still see us as being the best team in Staffordshire.

Nathan Ake has joined Reading on loan for a month. Probably to fill the gap left by Chalobah's injury.

Replacing one Chelsea loanee with another.

We were linked with him in the summer, but Jose wanted him to stay at Chelsea rather than go out on loan. Supposedly a very good prospect.
