Would he want to go up to Newcastle and basically be told who to pick and sign?

He refuses to say he's not interested, despite having been asked multiple times....so probably, yeah.

Not a player, or a manager, but a scout!

Spurs are 'expected' to complete the acquisition of our head of recruitment Dave Webb, who helped us bring the likes of Callum Wilson here. Spurs have some new bloke replacing their director of football Franco Baldini, and this new Spurs DoF want's Webb to identify 'elite' targets.

Presumably they don't just do it off Championship Manager these days.

I remember Yeovil doing that. They couldn't afford to pay for a scout a few years ago in League 1 so they went on football manager and scrolled down the free agent list

To be fair, Rotherham manage without a scout too. They just sign people starting with the letter A and head through the alphabet until they get a team that works.

McClaren wants to keep Ince next season, and seemingly Hull are ready to let him go despite Bruce saying the complete opposite a month ago.

I'm sure many others will be interested though. Can see one of the promoted teams getting him.

The Sun reckon we've agreed a fee for Tom Ince. £5.75m

Although he's failed to make an impact at two clubs in the Premier League. Three if you include Liverpool.

Not bad for Hull, sign a player on a free transfer (well a small tribunal fee) and sell him on a year later for nearly 6m without playing him.

We could only afford that if we went up, and we're not. Hull paid £2.3m, and he now only has a year left on his contract, so Hull will do well to get £6m for him.

I think it's going to be a long summer of tabloid bullshit for us. Callum Wilson wanted by literally half the Premiership, 10 clubs prepared to make a bid this summer with £12m the asking price (WTF). Celtic Defender Charlie Mulgrew apparently top of our summer hit list and is likely to join for a 'modest fee'.

I bet there's not a shred of truth in either.

Charlie Mulgrew is shite. He was our 3rd choice left back with us, and only made 6 appearances in 2 years. Think the quality of the Scottish League makes him look better than he actually is.

Looks like we're going to try and get Tom Ince in this summer.

McClaren stated at tonights end of season awards that he's available, and Ince said in his acceptance speech that he hopes to be at the club next season. I imagine how much Hull want may be an issue though.

Powell has said he wants 2-3 key quality signings this summer.

Can see this being Reece James on loan for the season, a centre back and possibly another striker if Vaughan doesn't sign another deal and we cash in.

You get his collection of poppies as well.

The bad news is that he hasn't got any space remaining on his body for a Sheffield Wednesday tattoo. His agent says can he just do a picture of an owl?

Sako saying he wants £50,000 a week to sign for West Brom or Aston Villa

Seems he's on 25k at ours. He'll get 35k at whoever escapes relegation on goal difference. He'll go on to be a legend somewhere economically vital like Rangers or Hull, appearing six times in the next two seasons and spending most of the time in the dugout writing postcards to Jarvo and Michael Kightly. He'll score against us in 2018 as a sub for Cheltenham in a Carling Cup game.

More worried about Ebanks-Landell, Price or Afobe leaving, tbh.

:(

I do think he's past his best, but he's still a very good player for this level. Gutted.

Maybe it's because we are signing Ince though, and Ward wants first team football that we can't promise. Good luck at Sheffield United, Wardy.

Hasn't been the same since his injury early on - Started the season well and tailed off. Sad to see him go, although it does point to us trying to sign Ince so hopefully we can get him.

I think you could probably make an entire starting XI of Sheffield United players who have played for Derby in the last 5 years as well as their manager.

Maybe you'll get 2 Ince's this summer

After watching Sam Ricketts shocker at AG for Swindon earlier in the season, and his age - stay well away!

I think Ake is probably just out of our reach, but agree with Tavernier - he's been very solid since he's been called upon, and would be a great player to have to take up; but I'm sure Wigan will be determined to hold onto a player who has won promotion in successive seasons!

Not seen a lot of Bostwick - but as for Matt Smith, he's a very good striker, and is probably an option we don't currently have at the club at the moment. Wouldn't be against him coming back - top professional is Smithy.

Ake will be playing Premier League football, he's far too good for this level for a season long loan.

Would think we'd be first choice location for him if he came to the Championship too.

Sun reporting Villa want Hendrick for 5 million.

Obviously they have exaggerated with that but if we could get a couple of million for Jeff we'll be laughing. Mediocre at this level, scorer of good goals from time to time.
