Rotherham a threat to our title? Please..

Don't flatter yourselves, we signed Dicko because we knew what he was like, and we needed a ready made replacement for Leigh Griffiths who we sold to Celtic. Stopping Rotherham from challenging us to the title of which we absolutely pissed (without meaning to sound arrogant) wasn't really of any concern to us.

Leon Clarke was just a cock up by our scouting department, we were after Wilson for a few months and for some unknown reason we gambled on Clarke instead. The rest is history...

Their official website has a "Nick Blackman career in 26 photos", except it would be if they didn't show a picture of Adrian Mariappa instead..

The Wednesday
Jonson Clarke-Harris linked with us and Reading.

No offence, we could and should do better.

We have the potential to be routed this transfer window. Bids already received for Judge and Tarkowski, and now rumours that Jota is going back to Spain... on loan!

We've managed to sign excellent players on low fees and get great money for them, so I don't really have any qualms about us doing the same again if we end up selling the above players, but now the secret is out I imagine the asking price for our targets will end up somewhat inflated.

On the plus side, we made an excellent amount of profit in the last 12 months to stave off the FFP vampires, but the revenue we generate aside from player sales is absolutely minute in comparison to most sides in this division.

Going to be an interesting window for us!

Have you accepted anything on Tarkowski?

Interested purely because of sell-on clause purposes.

Not yet - have it on good authority we turned down quite a large bid in August for him, so I don't think there's much chance of him going for the £2.3m that Burnley have offered for him. That said, I've no idea whether our valuation of him has increased/decreased based on his performances this year, our potential target replacements or his contract being 6 months shorter.

Everyone is in meltdown on twitter at the thought of Revell coming back, personally I'd contemplate suicide.

Little do they know that the saviour that is Lucciano Becchio is training with us.

Ben Pearson, Conor Hourihane & Tom Bradshaw are current tranfer rumours/ bullshit.

Also whispers that we're looking to move Kilkenny on who isn't getting much game time now Browne and Johnson have entered the frame.

Bradshaw has spent the last 5 weeks out with a massive gash on his ankle so that may help us keep him. His goals to games record for us though is staggering. With another year on his deal and other clubs interested, you would probably have to pay a fee not worth it for yourselves. £1m+ easily.

We've got £1m+ if Hemmings wants to spend it.

I'd rather we spent that sort of money on a good winger than a striker though.

Bradshaw seems a bit prone to injury too and our record with injuries to strikers has been shocking recently. Signed Beckford and spent about £800k on Stevie May and got a combined total of 4 starts and 4 substitute appearances from them this season.

I'd agree that he was injury prone last season with his hamstring. But he spent 6 weeks at Loughborough last summer working on it, and touch wood, so far this season he has lost half a stone, got a yard quicker and hasn't had one mention of his hamstring. A massive gash after being crocked from behind by a defender can't go under the 'injury prone' bracket I don't think.

He's definetely got potential to do well in the Championship, but I expect we wouldn't sell for anything less than £1m. Bonser understands how important it is this time to not alienate the fan base that are only very slowly starting to put bums on seats again.

a £1m gamble on Bradshaw? I'd hope City would be willing to take that punt given our predicament. Lads got potential, age on his side, 17(?) last season in the league and 9 so far this season.

Yeah his overall record for us is, 32 in 62. 20 last season and 12 so far this season, so that's not a bad goals to game ratio. If he gets himself fit again and the team play 'well' - then I'd be surprised if he didn't get another 10 or so goals this season which would be 20 two seasons running.

As it goes we apparently had a 4.5m deal agreed in principle for Andre in May. This was also seeing him get a nice increase in wages which he was willing to accept, given at this point there was no other concrete interest and we as a club were in a very good place.

Unfortunately our chief executive (who was sacked, probably because of this) went under Cotterill's nose and decided he was going to try and get a cheaper deal as he believed you would accept 3m. After playing cat and mouse for a couple of months, in come Burnley. Panic sets in and we bid a massively inflated amount to match Burnleys offer.

But now Andre was never going to join us following the previous breakdown between the clubs, a disastrous summer leading to a weak squad, Burnley in a far better position to be promoted, and because Burnley were willing to pay him over 10k more than us.

This is still rumour but comes from a fan who is well respected for having inside knowledge with goings on at the club. He also explains in detail the reasons for the Harry Maguire and Gayle deals falling through. It perfectly explains our disastrous summer, the sacking of said chief executive John Pelling and Cotterill on the verge of walking in pre season. I'm inclined to believe it.

I've read that post on your forum. It does seem plausible, although there is absolutely no way on earth that Burnley are paying him £26k/pw (£29k inc bonuses) as suggested.

Don't need to believe owt.

Don't be dissapointed with 200k when it comes anyway. Massive amount of money to small time teams like yours.
You're not wrong about the 200k being decent money for us.

But we're both small clubs at the end of the day. One is where it belongs in League 1 and one is punching.

Enjoy the rest of the season before you find your home again in League 1, though we may well be in L2 by that point.
