Linked with Adam Hammill. I guess Lee Johnson owes him one after supposedly keeping him in a job this season!

We have him until the end of the season, so it's great that at least this isn't happening during the mid-season transfer window. It's real possibility we could be swapping places with Bristol City in May, and the only thing that makes them a more attractive prospect than us is money, which granted is the biggest factor in modern day football. Whatever happens there'll be no ill will towards him from myself or any other Barnsley fans I would imagine, he was a big fans favourite during his first spell and has undoubtedly been one of the main reason our season turned around. I'll always be a fan, even if he does like beating paramedics up now and again.

Good signing, played a good amount of games in the PL and has experience of winning trophies at Celtic.

Actually wikipedia says he has only played once for Sunderland? Thought he had played much more than that...

Matthews signed. So - nearly two months after Cotterill's departure and we're still signing his targets.

In fairness, we needed a right back.

Stephen Warnock gone out on loan to Wigan. No cover at left back now, excellent decision.

Odd as he's been one of the best performers of our season. Risky just having Olssen but he's out of contract so it gives him a chance to earn a contract somewhere. Good signing for Wigan.

Just read on Matthew's interview for player he talks about Johnson being a big influence for the move

Bit surprised. Don't think RB's really the priority with Ayling coming back(if anyone came in I was expecting a striker or attacking mid) but it seems Johnson fancies him more as a midfielder. Can't say I've heard of him either but he seems highly rated.

They'll be the club's targets, I'd say having a bit of continuity despite a change in management is a good thing really

Ayling seems an attacking option even at right back, his willingness to carry the ball out etc. Maybe LJ feels the best way of securing safety is by having a solid defence.

Yeah maybe, I'd agree having a solid defence is the most important thing in this league

Also Matthews talked about the move potentially being a permanent one in the summer should all go well. Maybe LJ thought getting him in early and trying to impress him would make him want to make the deal permanent.

Makes sense, if we think it's a good signing for the club long term it's worth going for even if it isn't the most pressing need at the minute.

As long as it doesn't take up the place of a potential attacking loanee. How many is that we're on now? Matthews, Baker, Tomlin, Pearce....I'm not missing anyone am I?

Don't think we desperately need someone else, reckon we've got enough as it is to stay up pretty comfortably but better safe than sorry. And it's definitely where we need to improve if we want to push on.

Looks like it could be permanent in the summer. The only reason I'd be looking to bring him in now? I'd fooking love to keep Baker, that would be our back 5 sorted for next season.

Dreaming though.

Inclined to agree chaps, Korey has been going down a lot recently during games, maybe this injury has been niggling away at him for a while and finally he needs an operation? Worse case scenario. As for Andy Stockhausen, I believe he's quite pally with LJ, so perhaps he'll be getting more "exclusives" over the coming months.

Any of my fellow City supporters seen LJ's World interview? At the end he started to mention something then made a joke of it saying 'I'd better not'. Any ideas fellas? Another incoming maybe?

Van la Parra gone to Huddersfield and Liam McAlinden to Crawley both on loan.

Likely the last we'll see of either, good riddance.

Two parties constantly rejected finally find solace in each other. A match made in heaven.............

Haven't seen him play in ages but let's not let that get in the way of a wonderful love story.
