Weaker league than 09/10, well at least the last few seasons have been. Can never predict much about the quality of a forthcoming season by July.

I would also be surprised if Newcastle didn't beat our points record, we've held the record longer than the previous record holding clubs did. It has to go soon. Though our whole squad that season cost about a quarter of the price of what Dwight Gayle has cost them..

Don't get me wrong I'd love for you to be right but I just think it'll be more highly contested than last time. We have a better quality team on paper now but also more players that couldn't really give a shit.

I don't think we will sign McCormack and not for that ridiculous money, the rumours just wont go away it's been the same the last 2 windows.

I'd rather we got rid of Sissoko though, I've got no time for him whatsoever.

Agree with that. Someones convinced him he's actually a very good footballer somehow. Sell the deluded gobshite. Wouldn't mind seeing the back of Janmaat either. Terrible defender.

I'd like us to keep Gini though, even if it meant loaning him out to a top tier club for a season and seeing if we get promoted. Potentially a star player imo.

At least we're getting rid of the shitty imports now. Bellusci gone, Sloth gone, Antenucci gone, Silvestri probably on his way. Some progress at least.

He was catastrophic for QPR last season, getting on as well at 36. Wouldn't want him here.

I'd slightly disagree, I appreciate transfers would play a part but of the teams finishing 7th or above last season you'd fully expect all of them to have a decent go at staying in the prem.

Yeah I agree. In 09/10 there was a huge disparity between the top 3 and the rest of the league (Newcastle, WBA and Forest) and even then the latter dropped off towards the tail end of the season.

I won't pretend to say that I have kept as close an eye since but you have the likes of Sheff W, Brighton, Villa, Norwich, Derby and ourselves who you'd expect to be up there.

Very highly rated at Exeter, probably needs a move from Swansea in the short-term so he can get games again to be honest

Seems like Blackburn fans thought he was alright too so might be what we need. Just thought he might be able to get a game in a poorish Swansea side if he was any good but doesn't look like a bad deal.

Can't see Roofe coming in as well unless we sell though...but does seem like that's on the cards. Exactly what we need if he can make the step up but will inevitably do his cruciate in pre-season...

How are Leeds set for this season? Used to be a big fan of your lot and was gutted we missed each other last time.

What are your expectations? Basically nowt as long as Cellino is there?

More or less. This pre-season to date has mirrored last really. Start off with a poor enough squad, a decent managerial appointment, a new director to try and make Cellino less of a megalomaniac etc. This is starting to be a bit better now though...getting rid of players who weren't really contributing enough/supposedly bad influences in the dressing room, more coaching staff and some half-decent signings.

I mean it'll all unravel when we sell one or two of our best players again but we're not in dire straits right now at least. Still wouldn't suggest anything other than a mid-table finish unless we bring in another two starters and keep all of our young talents.

Grimes will do well at Leeds...From day one you could see he was quality hence why Swansea paid us £1.7m for him after he'd only played 50 odd games in L2. Cracking left foot and is a good passer.

If you sign Kemar Roofe your getting a game changer. He is a class act, and im not just saying that, because im an Oxford Fan. Most neutrals from Lge 1 Lge 2 would all love to have him in there side.

I personally think he can make the step up, and is the man for the BIG occasion.
£3million is a bargain if you sign him, and im hoping there will be a reasonable sell on clause 30%.

I can't see anyone who finished in the bottom half of the Championship last season seriously challenging for the top 6 (maybe Wolves if the takeover goes through),

Where did that come from fella.
A couple of guys on our forum knew about the deal yesterday and both independently said that fee so we'll see. Obviously stuff with us getting promoted (don't hold your breath!) etc. Might be some decent add ons there as we weren't keen on your 3m asking price by all accounts.

Obviously can't say with 100% confidence but their source(s) have been a step ahead of the journos so far so we'll see. Pleased with the deal though.

Good signing if it goes ahead, big step up from L2 to the Championship but Roofe has obvious quality. £2m is a lot but it should pay off.
