It would also leave Mike Williamson free to join a new club if anyone wants him. The few times he has played he has been our best defender, although he does seem very injury prone. If he can overcome that he could be still be a solid defender in the Champ for another 1/2 years.

Jesus, that's a sorry state if true.

And a stat to get the Derby fans salivating..

League goals for Reading last season:
Matej Vydra - 3 Goals in 31 Games
Nick Blackman - 11 Goals in 25 Games

Ha from memory, and I'm sure someone can prove me wrong, he didn't have a bad injury record with us. He simply left as he was slower than a tree. My residing memory of him was Cabaye having to come deep every single game so as to avoid Williamson showing his wide range of (misplaced) passing.

Oh and then there was Carver-gate where he claimed that he was sent off on purpose in a defeat against Leicester. Nice guy with a nice haircut, but was rather limited on the pitch for us.

He can 'play' at left back, left wing, or centre mid...

Villa fans saying he's shite, Sunderland fans saying he's ace, fuck knows what to think, I just hope we don't lose Joe Bryan. Richardson's signing tomorrow.

Sunderland haven't had to deal with the useless shit for the past 2 years, there's a reason they released him afterall.

Sounds quite promising then.
In fairness Wilbraham hardly had rave reviews when we signed him and look how that turned out.
Like with Wilbs it's an experienced player with premier league experience, and like Wilbs he's dropping down a division from where he played before.

I won't ignore the comments by fans of his former clubs though. I'll judge him on what I watch of him, but won't make him out to be Roberto Carlos like SERNWA did with Lloyd Doyley and co, despite the fact he's 31 and we're not signing the same standard of player that he was at Sunderland.

Very poor league 1 that year and somehow no other manager could work out Cotterell game except the United manager

Bit of friendly advice drop the SERNWA bashing, you better than that

Of course, not suggesting that at all. I think he could be a good signing in what he can bring off the pitch, in terms of experience. But those things we don't really hear much about. I won't judge him on the playing side until I see him play for us.
As with all signings it's got the potential to be a good one or bad one.

Be surprised if we actually sign Vydra, we just like pretending we're interested in players to up the price.

8.5 is crazy money but that's the way it seems to be nowadays. Not fussed if we sign him or not.

Villa destroyed alot of players that were deemed to be decent, so I'll take alot of what they say with a pinch of salt. I'll judge him once I've seen him, IF he signs.

Pretty sure Villa just signed over the hill/shite players rather than ruined any.

No idea where he will fit in but he won't be coming to sit on his ass on the bench I'd imagine.

Thought he was older than 31 too.
