Re: Aaron Tshibola joining Forest - the grass isn't always greener on the other side...
Seems a lot for a 33-year-old but I imagine a decent chunk of that fee will be dependant on promotion. Loose change compared with the financial reward of going up I guess.Glenn Murray to Brighton being made permanent for 3m.
Good deal all round. Brighton is clearly where he feels happiest. And we make back what we spent on him, which considering he's aged another 18 months towards the end of his career in that time, is decent business
A broken clock is right twice a day, Alex.
Too late to register him.Villa had a bid accepted for Hogan. Debut at Brentford tomorrow night?
Joao going on loan to Blackburn
Brentford sources saying it's been rejected. Bid was in the region of £9million.Villa had a bid accepted for Hogan. Debut at Brentford tomorrow night?
Apparently we've rejected the following bids this transfer window.
3.5 mil for Robinson
2.5 mil for Hugill
1 mil for Cunningham
National media saying we've rejected two bids worth up to 6m for Yanic, again both from Derby and Norwich (no doubt full of add ons and not 6m up front). ITK close to the club though says we've agreed a deal with Derby and he wants to go. All going down in the next 24 hours. Personally I think he'll go, timing is absolutely awful and it'll probably consign us to relegation unless we have some miracle replacement waiting in the wings, but I can't see us turning down 6m with a sell on clause. Good luck to him if he goes, pace and strength to burn, will play in the Premier League if he sorts his consistency and final delivery out.
Bloody hell, I leave the house for 30 mins and all hell breaks loose. Proper knobhead move from him to try and push for a transfer. David Sharpe's proven to be pretty ruthless since he's been chairman, so I'm sure he'll have no problem letting Yanic rot until the summer if we don't get the price we want. It's an important situation though, this cash is virtually our parachute payment for next summer so we can't afford to get walked over.I refuse to believe we'd be willing to pay £6m for him....
However, Wigan have released a statement tonight saying that Wildschut has handed in a transfer request.
He'll probably end up at Villa.
That's his game, runs at defenders for fun, bags of pace but more importantly strength so you can't muscle him off the ball, that's why he's so effective and just goes past them with ease. If you're looking for a direct winger or someone who can play on the break he's your man. People think he's expensive because they either don't know him, or see his stats and think they're poor for a striker. Yanic's not a striker, he's a left winger who can play on the right or up top if needed. Easily the best winger we've had since Moses/McManaman.I don't know too much about Wildschut, but from what I have seen, he's got what we lack.
Tom Ince has an end product, he's technically fantastic and there's very few more composed players when he gets into 'them' positions. What he does lack, however, is power. He doesn't drive at defenders, he doesn't create space for other players. I think Wildschut can/will do that. I also believe Wildschut is probably more of a creative influence than anything else. We desperately need that in the final third.
Whatever the fee, whatever the terms, I believe he will ultimately improve us. I don't mind seeing Wigan get well compensated in return. Good club.
