League 1 may have been poor but he was still one of the best players in the league that season, most fans of our opponents would highlight him as our best player.

Probably confused with joe Bryan

Always thought Luke Ayling and Korey Smith were Bristol City's stand out players when I saw them in League One.

Freeman was usually anonymous.

Both those two were decent as well, Ayling's doing well up here with Leeds and Korey Smith went straight through this division with Norwich a few years ago and was good for us last year. Been injured/not fit this season which is a big loss for us.

Thought he was one of our best players last season, as did many. Was delighted he signed a new deal as well.

Max Gradel has been linked with a few Championship clubs (Brum and Villa most recently) and Howe has said today there's a possibility he could be leaving on loan (presumably something is in the works given the deadline is tomorrow). I'd be pissed off if that happens, he should be playing more for us. Rather have Gradel off our bench than bloody Jordon Ibe.

Southend thought they were getting him on loan last week, so that's a bit of a surprise. Useful player.

understood Rangers will pay an initial £500,000 fee, possibly rising to an eventual £1m based on incentives.

500k for Smith is a bargain

Tish gone on loan to Notts Forest.
Neil Taylor + ~£5million not far off for Ayew.
Bedeau still not signed, but should be before deadline.
One player coming in who apparently the media, and thus none of us, have picked up on according to Bruce. Most, including me, reckon it's Taylor though.
Apparently going back after Rhodes with the Ayew money.
One more expected to leave other than Ayew/Tish. No idea who.

All sensible options really. Tshibola is going to struggle to get in ahead of several others brought in this window, Ayew is probably better off leaving (plus he doesn't strike me as a 'Bruce' player) and Neil Taylor is a very decent player to add to the squad. Not sold on Rhodes but you can't really knock his record at Championship level.

Yeah, all sensible, and Ayew has looked crap and disinterested (other than a few sporadic moments of brilliance) since he signed, Taylor is back-up to Amavi, as we don't have one having shipped Cissokho out. I agree on Rhodes, but Bruce wants to play 2 up top, our striking options are limited now with Kodjia, Agbonlahor and Davis (who has played about 5 minutes of competitive football) being the main 3, McCormack is of course in the U23's and not playing, so it makes sense.

Padraza on loan with a view to a permanent for 10million euros if we go up

Villareal rate him highly and their fans seem to be annoyed at our buy option

Guillem balague seems to rate him too (but then again he's Spanish so he would)

20 year old u21 Spanish international winger with pace to burn

Freeman from Bristol City has finally signed. He is meant to be creative for us but he hasn't set up many for City. Goss and Freeman so far, and I am more excited by Goss.

I dont know much about Matt Smith. Got a Fulham mate at work who said he can do the job, wasn't happy or unhappy he left. By that logic, he sounds average.

Pretty simple with Smith. Get someone who can deliver a decent cross and he'll score goals.

Glenn Murray to Brighton being made permanent for 3m.
Good deal all round. Brighton is clearly where he feels happiest. And we make back what we spent on him, which considering he's aged another 18 months towards the end of his career in that time, is decent business

RE Townsend, I hear we're just haggling over the £2m loan fee after agreeing a £13m fee in the Summer to make permanent should we get promoted.

(Optimistic) rumours that the aforementioned 'mystery' signing is Hogan.

No chance.
