What would you class Dele Alli or Lingard as if not a 10?
Well Lingard plays out wide and Alli central mid with license to push forward when he can. Neither are played as number 10s by Southgate so I don’t class either as number 10s.

Apart from that’s where both played at the World Cup...

It’s also where Poch plays Alli, and where Mourinho plays Lingard. Would trust them more than the England manager who sees them a 10th of the time they do.

Southgate also doesn’t play Powell at all... so what does that tell you?

Just to clarify to test the theory then - you class Kyle Walker as a centre half then?

No. Coincidentally I’m watching the football and neither Alli nor Lingard are playing as number 10s either. Why should I class them as such when they don’t play in that position for country and club.

I mean, they both play as #10s, just not as rigidly as Powell may do for Wigan. That’s also another reason he won’t be near a call up

Yep. England need a number 10 more than any other position. The best three English natural number 10s in the country off the top of my head are Maddison, Grealish and Powell. The only Premier League player of those three will be called up by the end of the year. If either of the other two were in the Premier League regularly, they’d also be knocking on the door.

Injuries have fucked him. He was our best player in Kenny Jackett's last season with us.
Such a shame when that happens. Judge has been pretty shit for us since he came back from injury, and before then he was runner up for Championship POTY.

Canos also hasn’t looked the same since he got injured. Really looked like he was about to break through as our star player, now he’s very lucky to still be in the team.

I'm convinced that George Thorne would have been on his second Ballon D'Or had he not had his injuries - 2 ACL snaps & an infected broken leg, amongst other things.

He doesn't even make our bench now, it's a travesty.

All players mentioned above must obviously lack the mentality and natural ability to recover from consistent long term injury set backs. Maybe they should ring up our Powelly and ask for his advice.. :animatedf:

McCauley had agreed terms with us before opting for Rangers.

Given Pennington's debut in hindsight it's probably a decent resolution all round.

Or not as Pennington is rubbish.

Arguably the best player on the pitch yesterday, second and third perhaps to Edwards and Walters.

Either way, with Collins likely coming in from West Ham too our CB concerns have eased.

Won't last he's shite. Collins would be a decent signing, I wanted him to come in alongside Webster when we were linked the other week but didn't realise we'd be able to bring in Kalas. Bloke's been immense in his first two outings.

Confirmed that James Collins is training with us at the moment.

Villa also supposed to be interested in his services.

Forest’s squad size has to rival ours for being ridiculously bloated? 15th summer signing for them today, and the 27th player through the doors since Karanka walked in, back in January.

A signing that is fucking corrupt as well. Tantamount to cheating imho.

How do you trust a manager when he wants to bring in 27 players in 9 months. Terrible way to run a club.

It's certainly will be one that needs retrospectively looking at, but it's not cheating - at least not yet.

When you think of FFP, this could be a really effective work around as Forest have effectively paid nothing for a player which that otherwise would have cost a fee. If cash flow wasn't an issue at all, it would also be easy to negate the wages by paying a large sum upfront from Olympiacos.

Live & let live.

Watford have been doing the same for a little while with their little family of clubs. There doesn’t appear to be much that can be done to stop it

To me the fact they couldn't agree the deal under our window so he was 'released' from his contract to join a club where there is mutual ownership is cheating, can see George Hirst deal going same way.

Football is dodgy as fuck nowadays. We had an £18m bid rejected for Patricio. A week later he rightly or wrongly released himself from his contract and we picked him up on a free. Like a goalkeeper of his stature would ever be at Wolves anyway if it wasn't for Mendes, but thats another story.

Wrong isn't it? I actually think I'm beginning to give up on the game, not doing any aways until Brum now and not fussed about home games.

It's completely pointless supporting clubs like ours, literally never ever gonna see anything good.

Might just be a function of supporting the club I do, but I’ve never thought it was easier than it is now for smaller clubs to compete. The financial gap may be wider, but for me the gaps on the field are narrowing.

Plus we’ve been playing really good football the past few years, which really helps.

I don’t watch much PL football anymore though.
