I’m not sure - but didn’t we buy out of the sell on clause a year or so ago?

If it was straight up cash I think we’ve been asking for £14-16m including add ons.
Not heard that his clause was bought out. I can’t see why we would do that considering the profit we’d be in line to make.

We’ve tended to do it in the past to take advantage of any cash flow issues at the previous club (Oldham sold their sell on for Tarkowski to us for very little).

To be fair I haven’t seen anyone mention it of late, so could be I’m remembering incorrectly from last summer.

Surely Exeter are one of the most financially stable clubs in the lower leagues?

We've given them £1.5m in the last 12 months ourselves.

They are, they're one of the clubs that turn a profit.

It's clearly a load of bollocks.

You haven't bought out the 20% sell on. It's still active and we're still waiting for our cut :£

Fair enough. Pretty sure it’s still active as that would have been heavily discussed on Exeweb and this is the first I’ve heard of it.

We are on a very solid financial footing. I think we’ve earned something like £8M from player sales in the past few years (Grimes, Ampadu, Watkins, Stockley, Storey and Wheeler).

The majority is reinvested in the club but our budget (by L2 standards) is pretty good nowadays.

The Sun are reporting that Arsenal are looking for £10m for Krystian Bielik and that Brentford, West Brom, Derby and Boro are the four considering it.

Obviously have my doubts about how true that may be because:

1) It’s The Sun.
2) They’ve used pictures of Josh Cullen in their report. (Ok, they've fixed that now)

Had a good season in League One and he's now going for 10M? This is why it pisses me off when our fans start going on about accepting 3M for Forestieri or Joao.

To be fair Bielik is mustard, I'd love him here if Webster goes.

Rafa Mir going to Nottingham Forest on a season long loan with a view to a permanent deal. Will happen when Patrick Cutrone joins us which should be tomorrow or Wednesday.

Looks like Bialkowski back on, with Tom Elliot heading in the opposite direction. Good business if true.

You seem to have a real issue with me at the moment? No real reason for it either.

Profit and cash flow are different anyway, plenty of companies that turn a profit have cash flow issues, particularly football clubs (and particularly smaller ones where incoming cash is very seasonal).

Anyway, as I said I could be remembering it wrong (even started my comment with “I’m not sure but”). No need to get so arsey!

An issue with you? Not at all, me saying a rumour is bollocks isn’t a personal attack. No issue whatsoever.

Worth holding on to these.

We got £200k from Bristol Rovers for Ricky Lambert, roughly the same again when Rovers sold him to Southampton and, I think, a further chunk when Saints sold him to Liverpool (thanks to The Gas also having a sell-on clause).

Likewise, we doubled our money nine years after the event when WBA sold Craig Dawson a few weeks ago.

And Scott Hogan earned us another chunk when Brentford sold him to Villa (and possibly a bit more when Villa got promoted - I believe there might have been a bonus involved, even though SH probably did more for Sheffield United's promotion effort).

Just hope that young Dan Adshead (sold this summer? flourishes at Norwich and eventually gets sold to Real Madrid/PSG/Barcelona... :)

Yep you would have got a share of the £3m we got when they went up.

Good to see you’re active on here before your season fizzles out in November and you lose interest again mate.
Didn’t we finish one place behind you last year? Amazing that for a club like Bristol City that constitutes a good season

We weren’t chucking 15m at players to achieve the finish we did.

Mirror reporting this morning Webster’s likely to sign for Brighton for £25m. Annoying as we’ve missed our chance this summer, Ajayi, Pinnock and Jansson all would’ve been good replacements for a fraction of the price.

Only one that’d interest me is Bielik. Ciaran Clark is rumoured.

We’re signing Joel Valencia, 24 year old Ecuadorian winger/forward for £1.8m, was Player of the Year in the Polish top flight last year. Medical today.

Probably means one of Watkins / Benrahma / Maupay will shortly be leaving.

Would be surprised if we're not one of the clubs in for Freddie Woodman.

Probably gonna end up signing Joe Williams, the lad on mission to become the Roger Johnson of the Championship. Sterling on loan from Chelsea possibly happening as well.

Cunningham wants out of Cardiff, bring him home..... on loan, for a paltry wage contribution.
