Couple of decent players for a L1 team.

Garath McCleary joining Oxford on loan - quite possibly my most hated player joining my most hated club. A match made in hell, good fucking riddance.

What's up with him? Don't really know much about him tbh.

Matty Taylor joining Oxford on loan....

First game - Rovers away. Glorious.

Well, strictly speaking, he is registered in time for our game tomorrow against Burton.

Thought he had to be officially confirmed by 12pm the day before to be eligible?

Lazy, always looks disinterested, too many unnecessary touches. Bottled taking a penalty in the play-off final when he was our designated taker earlier in the season. Would always moan and groan if things weren't going his way. Never warmed to him at all.

I understand he's from Oxford as well.

I disagree. I liked McCleary. He's been forced out due to being over 30 and on decent wages.

Think he has been unlucky with niggly injuries, which have constantly plagued him for the last 5 seasons. He had a great season in 16/17 when we finished 3rd, with 9 league goals and over 10 assists. He needs a run of games to build himself up, which hasn't happened in the last 2 years due to the niggly injuries I mentioned.

My doubts would obviously be around injuries and loss of pace.

He's quite direct and can bag some super goals, e.g:

Hemed finally confirmed nearly 2 weeks after the window closed.

We’ve sold a youngster to Dortmund, Kolbeinn Finnsson.

Never got near the first team, hope we put a big sell on in though.

And it only went through because Brighton just released him, meaning he was a free agent and can join anyone he liked.

Wrong. Who even knows what happened, we know the paper work was all correct but the EFL and FA help it up for some reason

He could have only joined us for free if his contract was cancelled before the transfer window deadline closed and I'm not sure that even happened.

Who knows what happened?

Bowyer was adamant we had done everything right and on time. Perhaps the EFL weren’t sure that Brighton had released him in time or filed the right paper work but again, they were quite sure they had.

One thing is for sure, another example of the EFL’s complete inadequacy. It shouldn’t be that difficult and definitely shouldn’t take that long to establish that everything was above board. That’s two games where we’ve been unable to play a perfectly legitimate player. There should be some sort of compensation for these things, perhaps the EFL could pay Hemed the two weeks wages he missed out on whilst being unemployed because of their incompetence.

Supposedly signing Nikos Karelis on a free transfer, Greek international striker last at Genk.

I hope so as we’re in desperate need of a striker, but no idea if this guy is any good or not.

His record looks decent for Genk to be honest.
There's some confusion as to which striker it is we're close to signing - there was a free agent striker watching us play on the weekend, different reports say it was Karelis or Riviere (ex-Newcastle).

Based purely on a quick scan of scoring records, Karelis looks like he'd be the better option (also younger so better potential sell on), but I know almost nothing about either of them.

As I said, different reports saying different things... lots of reports in Greece saying it's Karelis.

Who knows, maybe it's both! (though I'd be surprised)

It’s Karelis. Club website and twitter confirmed.

One year deal with club option for another year, I’ll take that. Decent scoring record for Genk hopefully can do well. Will probably take a while to get going though not having had a pre-season.

He got Robinson’s destination right before anyone else and was the first to report Bayliss so I’m not sure why you’re lying about it, sure there will have been more but those two spring to mind immediately.
