I’d be very surprised if we were looking for a centre half unless cooper is off for good money. We’ve got plenty in that position

We're ok as it stands but I expect Ben Davies to be sold, i'd be fucking wounded if this guy is his replacement.

Another one in at Carrow Road. USA youth international Sebastian Soto joins on a three-year contract, but has to spend a year on loan abroad to get a work permit first.

Heneghan & Griffiths rumours are bollocks according to our local reporter.

Fucking hate the internet during pre-season.

Alfie Doughty the latest to be spat out of the twitter rumour mill for us.

Pretty sure he played left back quite a bit for Charlton. Rumours could be bollocks of course but the sort of player we are linked to so far I’m liking the sound of compared to last seasons fetishising of “experience” which lead to a pretty shite summer of recruitment overall.

And another new signing. This time it's young midfielder Matthew Dennis, who joins from Arsenal. Five through the door already and it's not even August yet. EDIT: Likely to be going into the Development squad rather than the first team initially.

We're also one of a number of Championship clubs being linked with Charlton striker Macauley Bonne.

Sun reporting we’ve agreed a deal for Ivan Toney, £4m rising to £9m (!) and £25k a week.

Feels a little hard to believe. We were definitely in for him in Jan, and reportedly bid £7m then, so fee is probably right. Wages, well we offered Maupay £40k to stay, so it’s possible - if true I’d assume that includes a LOT of performance related clauses.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re in for him now but seems odd that anyone would agree to a deal before we know what league we’ll be in.

I watched a couple of Chartlon games at the end and he stuck out like a sore thumb. Really useful going forward, getting in behind, intelligent runs and some amazing deliveries. We are desperate for this from both flanks. I was like WOW, lets get him,if they struggle or go down. Trouble is, if i saw it......

We've been linked with two Germans today. Ex-Brentford and current Karlsruher striker, Philipp Hofmann, and Wurzburger Kickers winger, Fabio Kaufmann. Hofmann scored 18 in the 2. Bundesliga last season, while Kaufmann scored 14 and got 14 assists in 3. Bundesliga last season.

Hofmann was awful when we had him before, but he always seems to score well in Germany so might have turned it around

Our bid got rejected. We only bid 400k so I’m not surprised we got told to FRO!!!! Guess the details of our bid got released to spark a bidding war so think we have used as a bit of a pawn in the game on this one.

Who else is in for him.

Edit. Oh shit we got no chance. Fulham were looking at him for around 2M in Jan. Sure the market has changed but even so.

In the current situation, do we really need to be going out and putting in bids for players under contract? 1400 players needing work this summer!

Another one in through the Carrow Road revolving door. This time it's midfielder Kieran Dowell, signing on a three-year contract from Everton after loan spells with Forest, Sheffield United, Derby and most recently Wigan.

This sounds like a very good signing, though I'm hoping we see a defender or two come in soon rather than adding more and more midfielders to the squad.

Good signing that - though I would guess that means one of the attacking kids like Buendia you have will be leaving

The expectation within the club for a while has been that Cantwell and/or Buendia will be leaving this window, but there's been no solid rumours as of yet. I expect it won't be too much longer before we start seeing some big-name departures, but I'd be delighted if we managed to hold onto either Cantwell or Buendia somehow.

Presumably financially you’ll be able to keep at least one of them after Aarons/Lewis/Godfrey/Pukki (or a combination thereof) leave, as you won’t be in a position where you need the money and I can’t imagine either of them are on big wages. Just guess it comes down to the players and whether they’re likely to kick up a fuss about a season in the championship.

I have heard that if Brentford gets up we'll might get Troy Deeney for 6 million from Watford FC.

Be surprised if that happens, the guy can barely run anymore and it goes against your entire recruitment strategy?

Played on one knee all season..

Can’t believe that’s even slightly true. Doesn’t fit the system, recruitment strategy, anything.

Update from Luton:

Jacob Butterfield and Callum McManaman released.

Luke Berry, Danny Hylton, Elliot Lee, Kazenga LuaLua and Glen Rea have been offered new contracts to extend their careers at Kenilworth Road.

I'd have kept McManaman over Hylton to be honest.

On another point, whilst I thought that James Bree did really well since lockdown, I didn't realise he was signed by Aston Villa for £3m. He is not worth anywhere near that amount. The club have confirmed they are looking to resign some of the loanees.

He's made it up, he said Wycombe should sign someone because he bought them for £7k on FM.

He's most likely 13 tbf.

Luke Berry and Danny Hylton sign new contracts for the coming season. This will be Hylton’s 5th season at the club.

I do love Hylton but surprised we have kept him on a 2 year deal but the looks of things. Thought it was time to part ways myself as I’d imagine we will be looking to get a striker in. Not surprised to see McManaman or Butterfield go as they never struck me as the type NJ liked but like Ken I’d have kept McManaman over Hylton because he offers something a bit different.

Really pleased to see Berry get another deal though, woefully treated by GJ last season IMO.

Fingers crossed Rea signs his deal.

I think money will be coming into it - Butterfield and McManaman combined was probably costing us £12-15k between them every week, whereas Berry and Hylton maybe half of that.

We gotta wait for the money to come in from going up and Deeney is ours. Btw i made the Wycombe thing up forjoke sakes.
