Possibly, but according to reports this was a £2m bid, which is what Birmingham were looking for a couple of weeks back. Our previous bids were around the £1m-£1.5m region.

Glad they are taking their time and trying to get the best deal for Reading. Though I think now it's £2m+ Donaldsson definitely isn't worth another bid. Would want someone with more than a couple of years to offer the club for that value.

Karl Jenkins obviously a Leeds fan. He's written a great song about Tom Adeyemi's loan move from Cardiff.

We've got no players but by the looks of it El-Abd is now going, as there's no sight of him in Portugal. Madness.

FOR SALE: Bjorn Sigurdarson and Georg Margreitter. £500k for the pair, or reasonable offer. Both really, really hate Cardiff and the Gas. Would consider PX for a van or some budgies.

Georg.jpg

OK so he looks a bit like he's showing off his cock, but his surname rhymes with Margarita and you could offset his wages with sponsorship by a pizza company, like I think Chesterfield did. This sales photo shows him at the match with the biggest attendance for his games at Wolves.

It's scary to think we wasted 10 million pounds that summer on Sako, Doumbia, Boukari, Margrietter and Sigudarson 3 years ago. It was only Sako who turned out any good, and we didn't get any money back for him...

Luke Murphy signed a new four year deal on a reduced wage. Fair play.

Other than Sako:
Doumbia - 15 full League games (35 in total) in 3 years.
Sigurdarson - 16 full League games (60 games in total) and 7 goals. He scores about once every eight hours on the pitch. Our groundsmen have a better scoring rate than this.
BUPAkari managed just one full League game in three years (6 in total).
Margreitter - 10 League minutes in 3 years. If you exclude the couple of early round League Cup games he cost around £50,000 a minute.

Now, children, **THAT** is how to kiss goodbye to £10 million.

Wolverhampton, twinned with the Greek National Taxation Authority.

I feel for Boukari, the year he joined us he had impressive spells at RC Lens and Rennes, his stats on wiki show him to be a decent goalscorer for a winger too.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Razak_Boukari

He was supposed to be better than Sako from reports in France, it's a shame injuries have ruined such a promising footballer.

Really? Permanent or loan deal?
Permanent, City told him he won't make it basically.

I've read that Burnley are also being linked to Hiwula - we've done well with loans from Man City in the past - Kieran Trippier and Ben Mee.

Likewise with us to be fair, both Tom Smith and Harry Bunn came from Citys U21s along with former City Academy coach Frankie Bunn being here too.

In yet more Brentford news. Andre Gray isn't in the squad for our friendly tonight, and has been the only one absent from squad photos from the tour group the last couple of days. Lots of rumours he's flown back to discuss terms with Hull.

That would leave us with a grand total of 0 strikers for next year (Hogan injured for 13 months, Grigg just gone to Wigan).

False 9 anyone?

Nice little bit of overreaction there - gray scored and provided assist in the friendly tonight!

Will he be as a fantastic a signing as you predicted Adryan to be?

Shame he was only ever remembered for this...

What happened with Doumbia? In the few games I saw he looked half decent.

He did. He always looked great. So did Boukari. Just terribly injury prone. I guess that, often, the step up to a higher level of football fails not because the skills aren't there but because the massively increased level of fitness is beyond them.....

Despite the banter, I really do hope they all get a new club and go on to play out their careers. Preferably with a promotion rival.

Shaun Wright Phillips the latest name to replace Sako...

Dear God no

To be fair, I think he's eligible for a bus pass though. If we doubled up and signed Dave Beasant as cover for Ikeme and Flatt, we may even get a blue badge for parking.

Rotherham have signed Kelle Roos on a season long loan from Derby County, no Emi Martinez then.

I fancy him to do very well there. He's looked very sound in the cup games but just hasn't had the chance to prove himself in the first team. I'd imagine Rawson will quickly follow as he hasn't even been given a squad number and has been ruled out with injury until the end of the month. He won't be in Holland, so I'd imagine that he will be available again.

Rawson and Roos join Rotherham on loan. Good signings, both should do well at this level.

Big Faz and Roos sign on loan, add that to Grant ward and Thorpe and we've got a few exciting youngsters added with good solid championship experience.

Did get a text earlier saying we'd have two signings tommorow and one involved a fee, hoping this is still happening.

Funniest thing about that McClean signing is we had a 'derisory' bid rejected a couple of months back, and have now got him for 20k, blimey we were being cheap!

Roos was the one involving a fee, for the full season.

Roos is a gamble imho, no league experience to date, though his form for Nuneaton looks good and had a couple of clean sheets in the cup, big difference to Emi Martinez.
