Max Lowe coming in from the Blades by the sounds of it

Can’t remember the last player that came directly to us from the red third of the city

Jose Mourinho and Fenerbahce are looking at Elijah Adebayo for a potential deal up to €10M. Is that for his left leg?

James Trafford is wanted by both Newcastle and Bayern Munich. Burnley want up to £30M now to let him go.

He's clearly got potential but had a torrid second half of the season.

He must have a magic agent.

Possible horse shit but heard were one of the clubs who have met with Josh Windass.

Would be disappointed with that.

Scored some big goals for us and been a key player when fit (been out injured for long spells)

Comes across as a bit of a knob as a person from what I’ve seen and probably only has a couple of years left at this level

Windass is a wonderful technical footballer that has been injury prone and inconsistent for his entire career.

He really is a player that could go either way. We had the same with Mendez-Laing who put it all together and now looks like a dedicated professional. He’s a gamble, but ultimately I always think you get/keep talent in the building.

Good wage demands, no re-sale value, dodgy fitness record, and I don't see how he gets into our first eleven.

I'd have been happy with 3 or 4 years ago, not now.

His Dad has supposedly been telling people on a golfing trip that he’s going to Hull

Obvious connection, better wages, move back home… makes sense

Really can't see why they'd want him looking at their squad.

Signed Jordan Williams from Barnsley after his contract expired. Solid RB, RWB. 24, looks quick. Has experience in both champ and league one. Captained Barnsley at 24 is good. Sounds like a young slight upgrade on Joe Rafferty

Liam Millar has actually told the club he'd like to come back but not as a wingback. So Lowe's pile of shit, lower league system means we can't sign one of the best wingers in the league. Nice one.

Ross Sykes' name is being bandied about. Currently at Union in Belgium.

Ridsdale also said were chasing a young guy from Europe who can play on either side, and would be an exciting coup. So no chance we'll land that one.

Sounds like things are moving nicely. Alex Robertson is leaving Man City on a permanent deal more than likely. We look like we are trying to sign him. Exceptional midfielder who will end up in the premier league soon for a big whack. Also mousinho questioned about (not the new Newcastle one, his brother) Josh Murphy and did the no comment thing. Sounds like we are definitely in for him along with alot of other champ clubs

Gabe Osho - who we are in negotiations with over a new contract - being linked with Sheffield United.

I’m a bit torn on him, and this might be controversial amongst Luton fans. He had a fantastic end to the season we got promoted through the playoffs but started that season very badly, has been on/off injured fairly consistently here and I think prone to a mistake and switching off as shown many times last season. Combative defender who’s very good in our aggressive, man marking pressing system but I feel if he’s got decent offers I wouldn’t necessarily break the bank to keep him

Tim Krul to West Ham as well apparently. Strange one as I think he needs to retire tbh, looked very immobile in the goal when he did play in a few cup games. Apparently he’s a great person and mentor though so perhaps they want him for that.

I don’t disagree with this at all. Played a very big part in our recent history, but the first half of that 2023 season he was below the level. The end of the 2024 season I thought he was very poor and a big part in our defeats, although I don’t think this 1v1 tactic really helped him. Wouldn’t understand why he’d want to join Sheffield United considering because of their takeover they can’t even offer him a contract. Could be an opportunity for us to refresh that position with someone else.

We want to sign Illay Camara from Molenbeek, 21yr old, Belgian wingback.

Supposedly a permanent deal for £1.5m-£2m but a loan with a view to a permanent is also an option. Confirmed we've had initial talks so seems quite far down the line if it's been published in the LEP. Not the only Championship club interested, Coventry sniffing too.

According to news sourced through AZ Alkmaar, we are signing former Brighton & Arsenal goalkeeper Mathew Ryan on a free transfer.

It's an unusual rumour, usually when sourced through such means it tends to be right, but would suspect that he could do with a new agent if we are the best offer on the table. He's an international goalkeeper (and captain) with close to 100 caps. Premier League experience and just had an outstanding season in Eredivisie with the second most clean sheets. He was playing in Europe last season whilst we were in League One.

It's actually not the first time we've been linked with him, as we were apparently interested around the same time he joined Brighton (maybe the year before). I'd be delighted, so fingers crossed, but very surprised.

Surely there's absolutely no chance of that. He's a Premier League standard goalkeeper in his prime.

Not a signing or rumour about us per se but our right wing back from last season Issa Kabore who is currently at city being linked with Ajax and Everton for something like 11m. One that I might have been ok with getting back if cheap but that’s much too rich.

For me that really shows what a mental league the PL, he was a very raw sort of player. Good motor but I would think there are better RWB currently playing at this level tbh.

In the extreme City and Chelsea scenarios - teams aren't football clubs any more, they are becoming trading platforms. Players are being kept on, developed and then traded for a healthy profit. Kabore himself was valued at £14M last summer... he's worth no where near that. Harwood-Bellis this summer, going to Southampton permanently for £20M. Has he ever played first XI football at the Etihad? James Trafford sold for £17M.
This.

After a half a season on loan with us, 20 senior games, Tom Cannon got an £8m move to Leicester.

Sepp Van Den Berg (ex-loanee at PNE, quality player) has publicly slagged off Liverpool for putting a £20m price tag on him after a good spell in the Bundesliga, pricing him out of a realistic permanent move.

You're right, it is one big trading platform, with the big clubs stockpiling talent, meaning even ones who won't make it in the top flight are still unaffordable.

As if to confirm your views there’s been much shenanigans around the transfer of Maatsen to Villa as well. Villa ostensibly paying 40m to Chelsea for the privilege, but in a curious happenstance Chelsea being linked with a 20m move for a relative unknown Villa youngster at the same time.

Villa also looking at Dobbin from Everton whilst selling Iroegbunam (a player we have been linked with and what sparked this post) at the same time.

All totally incidental of course and absolutely not to do with youth player sales being able to be booked as pure profit from an accounting perspective.

A rotten sham of a league and absolutely delighted we are out of it to be quite honest!!

First real “incoming” rumour of the summer for us as we are linked with Jesurun Rak-Sakyi from Palace. Was at Charlton a couple of years back and seemed to have a decent loan there but didn’t really break into the first team picture at Palace

Interesting one as he’s ostensibly a winger, feels like an indication that Edwards wishes to stick with the 343 we used extensively last season rather than going back to 352 we had when last at this level.

I'd be wary as fuck signing anyone not deemed good enough for that Rotherham side last season.

Not sure he wasn't deemed good enough - i think he wanted out.

Although your point is a valid one if that is/was the case

Kioso was a decent player in the few appearances he had for us, we just had better wing back options than him at the time so he always wanted to get out on loan and play which is admirable but also has meant that he’s never really settled anywhere

Dobbin was a funny player to watch; he looked electric with the ball at his feet but as soon as he had to release it, as in pass or shoot, it was erratic at best and a vile indictment on the game of football at worse.

We also had Will Osula on loan at the same time who resembled a great dane chasing a bouncing ball every time he was dribbling. No control, a bull in a china shop, but at least could finish. He was a throw back to the Conor Sammon, Theo Robinson years.

Both of them were playing in the Premier League last season was quite something. Dobbin if he matures could actually be ok, definitely not £10m but he may get a career out the game, but I felt/feel Osula would struggle. He may get a decent chunk of games for Sheff Utd next season too.
