Crewe can be pretty satisfied with their work so far in this. Looked well organised and kept Wimbledon at arms length. Need a bit more of an end product themselves though.

Never in a million years is that a sending off. F*ck me these refs are atrocious.

Definitely a penalty. If you're going to have your hands all over the attacker at least be somewhat subtle about it. Red card though is ridiculous. Shame for Crewe as think they've done a good job in this half but now it's a mountain to climb.

Ref will say denial of clear goalscoring opportunity I'd have thought. To give him a red is nonsense though. Those challenges happen all the time in the box and often aren't even given as fouls.

And there it is. Holding our own with half a team and it's all made irrelevant by a completely incompetent referee. Thanks and goodnight, game over.

Well I'm glad we all agree. Penalty, but nonsensical to send him off.

It's just so demoralising. Like, no Crewe fan in their right mind expected to win tonight, a draw or mild hammering was the best that we could hope for - but we'd at least like it to be fair. If we lose with the only players we've got left, fine, I can accept that. To be hamstrung and the game gifted to Wimbledon just because of 'reasons' is just sad.

1-1 at Barrow. Scott Hogan with a great finish after a beautiful assist from the best player in the league, Dan Crowley. Then we do an MK Dons thing and concede an equaliser from a corner a couple of minutes later.

That said, a surprising non-bottlejob performance so far from us in a long distance away game up north. Usually we fail in every one of these. Much better than the last game, albeit we need to win if we’re still sniffing around the play-offs, a point isn’t good enough.

Thought crewe were fairly comfortable until that pen. That should be that now. Hopefully a nice confidence boost for us

Thoughts on the red? I think you can justify the penalty so no point in arguing that.

What was a decent and well contested game, and one that deserved some quality to see a team take the lead, is now just about how a referee can completely obliterate that and gift it to one side rather than the other.

0-0 h/t on Wirral. The football a bit better than of late but Rovers not really looked like scoring

If it's denial of a goalscoring opportunity then it's red if there's no genuine attempt to play the ball. Otherwise it's a yellow.

I think if you ask any football fan, we see those kinds of challenges every week and they don't get red cards. But then if you are the ref after the game it's probably a defensible decision to argue that he wasn't trying to play the ball, so not sure an appeal would be successful.

Dull viewing at VP tonight. But were one up so we'll take it.

And the goal was a beaut to be fair. 25/30 yarder from Pattison, though think the keeper could be questioned on it.

If the ball was going directly at the strikers head, then it's a red card. However, I think it's unclear where the ball is even going. Penalty, yellow card is the only sensible decision, imo.

I think the refs have realised that everybody has cottoned on to their obvious conspiracy against Port Vale so they’ve switched it to Crewe now as a sneaky cover up.

Game was ruined as a contest from the point of the red. Damage limitation exercise now for Crewe. Second and third goals have been some really good finishes from the Wimbledon players.

Yep, there it is, the bottling begins. 2-1 Barrow.

At what point does Scott Lindsey get the boot…:woot:?

You're being silly, there was never a conspiracy against Vale. But there clearly is against Crewe.

to be fair it wouldn't even make the top 5 worst decisions of the season for us.
