Whatever makes you feel better about your own performance. We’re finishing rock bottom, you spent half the time first half smashing balls out of play after keeper passes it 2 yards for a defender to do it. There wasn’t a bad tackle in the game and you got away with a fair few tactical fouls with no yellow. Probably not one you’d rush to watch back but if you want a proper view suggest you do. We were trying to win and the stats bear that out, we just weren’t good enough to produce to put it in the net. I don’t understand how anyone can come away from that with that view unless on a wind up. If that is battered when just about the only save our keeper makes is from his own fumble from a simple cross in the first 5 minutes I’m truly baffled.

Make no mistake, we were terrible, and I'm not trying to say otherwise. But "not a bad tackle in the game"? We've got a winger who got kicked in the chest/head by your 'keeper, and a defender who needed stitches pitch side after he got elbowed so hard it split his eye open. If you're suggesting I need to re-watch the game, I'd suggest you do the same. I was there, and that referee has no place making his league debut involving a Sutton side who have no intention to do anything other than be a nasty, overly physical side. As soon as they knew he wasn't going to give a fucking thing, they just took the piss.

We weren't good tonight, but I don't care. Tonight was about the three points and I'm pleased to bits that we got them. Whatever happens, it's looking likely that we won't be playing eachother next season anyway.

I dont know where to start with that game. Both sides giving it a go. A ref who was card happy and blind...but for both sides and the worst keeper in the whole football league having a blinder.

Far from perfect. Some of the defending from both side was comically but you couldn't fault the commitment and some of the attacking (from both sides) was top draw.

I think the time wasting in the first half pissed the ref off. Keeper booked after 30 minutes! I dont think your defender gets the first yellow for taking the throw in when it was our throw otherwise. From my far away vantage the second yellow was a foul but a tad harsh for a yellow.

Your 7 and Jones caused us lots of problems all night. Glad to see Jones subbed and the 7 tired which helped. The left winger was a handful too.

Our winner scored by Adeyamo. His first ever league goal, which explains he big celebrations. His been a bit part player since signing. Just gets going and picks up an injury. Lalos got the first, ex Plymouth player. Signed from Conference north. Gradually finding his feet. Mukemo his first start for Crawley as a centre back but you'd hardly know it.

The cheap signings coming good.

On another night we could have lost that but I still would have enjoyed the game.

Sometimes I really like football!

MK Dons are very easy on the eye, technically excellent BUT offered absolutely bugger all tonight! Never changed their approach, no shots from distance, no crosses into the penalty area, just pass pass pass with no threat. Cartwright in the Grimsby goal had nothing to do all night.

Yeah my lad text me half way through the second half and he said he’s not worried at all we were letting them have all the ball and they were doing nothing with it.
Thankfully he didn’t jinx it.

Utterly dreadful from mansfield this evening, clough completley cocked up both the formation and the station eleven, and sadly didn’t address this at half time which led to a thoroughly deserved win for tranmere, who won their the game themselves rather than errors in formations or play by mansfield.

As correctly predicted tranmere would be a challenging side and came at us from the get go, we had no time in midfield and thoroughly dominated us from start to finish

Harrogate gameplay worked perfectly for them , 11 men behind the ball, slow the game down and we couldn't break them down. Can see why they knick points on the road.
McClean having a 2 game ban now is a blow for us, been brilliant since he moved into midfield.
2 draws against Harrogate in games we really should of won could make a huge difference at the end of the season.
They did the same to us, you're not alone. They're effective at grinding out points when they're not trying to win.

We’ve been okay recently without Max Dean, but certainly not having your top scorer due to injury is having some effect on us on days like this. Harrison and Dennis don’t cut it as a main man, so relying on goals from elsewhere (which we do have an abundance of tbf from Gilbey, Tomlinson, Kemp, Payne, Wearne etc). Not our night though clearly and Grimsby deserved winners.

A great defensive display by Town that exceeded expectations. Well set up and kept to the plan. All the money in Taffland could not break down a group of bloody stubborn Yorkshire men.

I thought it was a decent game between Rovers and Mansfield. As Reg said, the visitors gave Robbie Apter too much time and freedom and his goal felt inevitable. Still thought Mansfield would get back into it, but after a positive reaction initially to our goal things seemed to fizzle out and we weren’t tested that much in the closing minutes.

Would really appreciate a Stockport win on Thursday. Not that I think Salford have a chance of going down but would be lovely to possibly go above them on Saturday, however small those odds are. Seems like we’ve turned a corner but FGR are flying now. Colchester should be very worried right now but I won’t rest easy until we’re on at least 45 points.

Surprisingly easy to beat the gills tonight. They were shit from the off and we bossed it. Hitting form at right time for a playoff run. Maybe. I just need crawley to stop looking like the form team
Unlucky!

You deserved the win. We can't last 90 mins. A long season at a higher standard has found us out, we are a small team, not much depth in the squad and we just run out of puff after about 70 mins. More noticeable since Christmas.
Maynard is on borrowed time but I can't help feeling he's unlucky.

You've improved from the Autumn Lolas looked a good player I thought.
Lindsey has worked miracles this season imho with his recruitment and coaching. Lolos a prime example, although Forster has also really improved. Thank God Gills didn't recruit Lindsey.

I wasn't at the game tonight, but from someone who was this seems a fair reflection?

"Their keeper put on the best display by a visiting goalie I’ve seen for a very long time.

It needed something special to beat him and thankfully Lolos and Adeyemo both did just that!

I feel our overall levels of performance have gone up recently , we really look more and more of a threat to teams in this league."

The Taff is south Wales. It's GogLand up North. Get it right.

It's the hope that kills you. Four clean sheets in a row and a phenomenal 14 clean sheets overall. Sadly too many were 0-0.

However arguably our best season since 2015/16.

Solid performance from us against Gillingham. Obviously helped by their player needlessly getting himself sent off. If I was a Gillingham supporter I'd be totally pissed off with him. As for us 4 clean sheets in a row . Considering our best 2 centre halfs are still out we've done well defensively. We are looking decent at the moment. Tough game at home to Newport on Saturday. If we can win that we might just be in with a chance of a play off spot .

As I've said before, your goalkeeper is pretty damn good. What's his contract and can we poach him in the summer?

This Apter kid gives me Louie Barry vibes, every time you look at who has scored for Tranmere it's him.

Thankfully it didn’t matter but after that ridiculous hand ball penalty on Saturday we were denied a blatant one ourselves last night where the MK defender pretty much grabbed the ball on the floor before it fell to Wood who smashed it off the post.
I know we all say it all the time but the standard of refereeing down here is fucking abysmal.

Surely Blackpool are actually going to start using this fella next season? They must have some brilliant players to keep loaning him out. I think he may have come on loan to someone higher up the L2 table in Jan but he couldn't because he'd already played for Blackpool and Tranmere this season so could only go to Tranmere if he were to be loaned again.

I can see Tranmere being up there next season, they've been a top 3 side form wise since about November when Adkins was given the job permanantly.

Dunno what to think about that in regards to whether its a deserved point, two lost or one gained. If we’d of beat FGR on Saturday, id of probably been happy with that result tonight.
We’ve got to take these chances, utter crap from the forwards tonight. Faal should bury one, if not both of those chances his finishing is terrible.
Give Flash credit for putting the keeper under pressure which ultimately led to our goal from the resulting set-piece. Other than that - he isnt the goalscorer we need.
DJT, in fairness, put himself a bit when he came on but hes never been, or never will be league standard.
DJ buries Faal’s chance and the one at the death from DJT - bost toe or not. But lets face it, he was never coming on, same with JJ.
Onto Saturday now and great… a team in the bottom two.

The same as our fans are looking at it in terms of point won or point lost. Looking at the highlights we could've easily won ourselves, hit the woodwork twice and a couple of good chances went begging. However, some good defending and goalkeeping prevented us from losing. Looks as if it would've been an entertaining game for the neutral.

Although common I've never been a fan of a manager misleading fans who weren't in attendance or didn't see for themselves. We didn't contain Crawley at all, as stated by Part Time Stu. There was little containment in the game and we deservedly lost.

It's usually the tactic of a desperate head coach/manager, seen it many times before, the last throw of the dice. I strongly sense do not have impulsive owners or even close but we have proactive owners and can't see him being around too much longer. One or two more defeats?

All of us will do fine because we won't have Paul Simpson as manager.

Should have been sacked months ago. He seems beyond criticism when we hear their post match debate on the radio.

Is that because he got them promoted?

Seems to win a few brownie points albeit less so maybe these days .

It is also relevant that Robbie Apter was with Tranmere from 2012 to 2019 so we can justifiably claim to be benefiting from the development work we put in. He only left I understand following our demotion to the Conference and the “downsizing” of our youth system. He’s really one of our own!
