The same as our fans are looking at it in terms of point won or point lost. Looking at the highlights we could've easily won ourselves, hit the woodwork twice and a couple of good chances went begging. However, some good defending and goalkeeping prevented us from losing. Looks as if it would've been an entertaining game for the neutral.
Thought you were a good side can see why you are doing well this season played some good stuff so not sure about the physical rep you have from fans of other clubs.

Some need to low brow us as a dirty team as they can’t accept lil old Barra doing a job on them.....how dare we :)
Yes there’s been an occasion or two throughout the season when there’s been questionable tackles and over eagerness, but what team hasn't ?
Our standing in the FairPlay table is evidence we do not win by “strong arming” teams for a result week in week out.

As I've said before, your goalkeeper is pretty damn good. What's his contract and can we poach him in the summer?
It wasn't our keeper. It was Slocombe the Notts keeper. Save after save after save. He had a blinder!

Pies fans think he ain't good enough (from comments on here). On that showing neither would Alison or Ederson or both at the same time.

Ah, you’re aware how Milky Dons operate. If football was only played on cold, wet Tuesday nights, home or away, we’d be playing Newport Pagnell regularly. As you say… all the ingredients.

While I think this current team has a bit more bollocks than those over the years, I’m still not sure I trust them to get the job done. A point wouldn’t be the end of the world.
Called it (well apart from the bit more bollocks bit!) Our top three hopes firmly hinge on Max Dean being back soon. We’ll have far more threat in games like that going into the final stretch. Crewe and Stockport now Must Win. Eeek!

If Slocombe played close to that level regularly you wouldn't see him anywhere near L2.

He did indeed have an absolute blinder, the only one who did.

Think we'll beat Harrogate on Saturday. 3-0. Canavan with a bullet header.

The Taff is south Wales. It's GogLand up North. Get it right.
Get it right? Ok.

A highly paid team owned by hugely wealthy foreigners and based somewhere west of Nantwich are held to a goalless draw by a group of stubborn Yorkshire men who used to play in National League North.

On holiday this week so didn't see the match last night but a great result for us. Massive credit to Artell and the team on another clean sheet.

What would you be paying your players if you didn't have Weaver Snr though? You're not big spenders in League Two granted but to get here you spent a lot of your owners money.

Wrexham actually get big crowds and do bring in a lot of money. If you could only spend what you earned, it would be worse for Harrogate than Wrexham.

No argument from me here. Without Mr Weaver Sn we would not be in L2. Not many clubs can survive without a rich owner, whether that is foreign actors, repressive foreign regimes, a local businessman or the manager's Dad. He is on record saying that he won't continue financial support forever. When that day comes we'll probably be right back in NLN, with an improved ground and some memories to bore the grandchildren.

My point, admittedly not original, is that sometimes money can't buy results. I'm sure you realised that when you read it. We've drawn twice with Wrexham, home and away this season. Having been at both matches, I think they underestimated Town each time, particularly in the second half of both games. Harrogate wanted it more, were prepared to work harder and had a bit of luck.

Massive win last night, yes we defended in numbers for most of the game and didn't play a lot of football (hard to on that pitch tbf) but we were very resilient, dealt with Cook well for a change and never really looked like conceding.

Cotterill has got us much better organised and prepared to throw bodies on the line to stop shots/crosses etc, our 3 at the back has looked very secure even when one of Inniss or last night Keogh have been out. Moore-Taylor is an absolute rock. Even Robson is playing well at LWB now, actually stopping crosses. Thompson playing out of position at RWB has also been excellent, way better than Dabo defensively imo. In goal Reyes has been sensational, along with Belshaw earlier this season our emergency loan keepers have been inspired signings.

Only worry is that Reyes energency loan could end any week if Daniels gets fit (not sure about the rule with Simkin who's technically still on loan although was training back at Stoke before he got injured?). Losing him wound be a real blow.

Another great result last night, my main worry is that we are relying on a select group of players, without Doidge we look a bit short up front, JMT is an amazing defender but has to be wrapped in cotton wool when not on the pitch, Keogh has certainly added a voice and experience to the scheme but isn't getting any younger and Innis is a mistimed tackle away from another red card and a three game ban...if we can keep them all fit and on the pitch we might be in with a chance of defying the odds and staying up...without them I'm not so confident.

If you watch Wimbledon’s goals from last Sat you might see why many don’t rate him.

Tbf he’s a decent shot stopper, it’s just all the other stuff he struggles with. Probably still better than Ashby Hammond though…

Was it Slocombe who played in the play off final last season? he let in some comedy goals.

Always seems one of those keepers whose performances vary wildly can look great but is very prone to clangers.

Notts have needed a more consistent Keeper all season than their current options. Probably #1 on their shopping list for the summer.

It's also the way they ask their keepers to play. You see PL keepers messing up a lot when trying to play out from the back, nevermind keepers in the 4th and 5th tier.

It's a real tough ask to get a good shot stopper, who commands his area and is good with his feat to start attacks unless it's on loan. Can't blame the club for the attempt though after last season.

Fuck mid table we’re going balls deep to try and make it an exciting end to the season.

Fair play Stu, you really do know how it works at Notts.

I bet Jodi Jones feels like a right twat saying you are the best side in the division.

That was a blinding performance from Slocombe but it isn't the norm from him. He's always been good at 1 on 1s but doesn't command his area.
We've been trying to upgrade him for three seasons but we keep going back to him.

This is very true but at the same time it seems concerning the recruitment guys thought someone like Stone was ‘good with his feet’ I can only presume they never actually watched him play.

They are clearly far better at recruiting the further up the field you go. Their statistical approach suits attacking players more than defensive.

For all our much vaunted radar, they could have come on here and found out in about 5 minutes that Stags and Port Vale fans thought Stone was crap.

Still don’t know a more reliable way of finding out whether a player is any good than asking what the people who’ve paid to watch him think.

My mistake. I repeat, can we have your goalkeeper? Alex Bass is pretty damn good but he's on loan. I'd dearly love to have a keeper who is actually ours. Goodness knows how many promising young goalkeepers we've lost to Prem/Championship clubs only to see them sign for L1 clubs.

If it's chucked it down elsewhere in the North West like it did here this morning, it will be a mudbath at Salford tonight.

He has come on in leaps and bounds from when he first got here. I think he was meant to be 3rd choice and had only played about five games!

Still think there are better at this level but I would rate him as decent.

To answer you question. No. Go away. He's ours.

I’m pleased we didn’t do that or we might not have signed McAtee as all the Scunny fans told us he was shit and lazy. :eye:
