It was a straight red, yes studs were up but more of a yellow for me. Ref was shite for both sides. At least it didn't cost us much as we battled hard for a much deserved draw.

Thought Exeter looked completely toothless, that Dieng reminded me of Mike Fondop. You looked a good side at ours but until the sending off today we were edging it.

Lee has got the defence organised but he's very negative. Everyone so deep with no out ball at all once down to 10. Thought Bogle looked rusty but early days. Weird to take him off after an hour. He'd have been a good outlet once down to 10 as he can hold it and has a yard of pace.
Think he took him off was because of his lack of Match fitness,
I think Gray was on for a possible foot race If the correct ball hasd been played
Exeter were pushing a lot of bodies forward at the death.

But a well earned point from a very organised, hard working team.

Reading the Tranmere forum it was nice that they mostly agreed that FGR were one of the better sides they've played this or past few seasons.
However one of perhaps two thought our goalkeeper was a liability. But Luke McGee has the best record in EFL2 for keeping clean sheets.

Off course they were as concerned about the bottle being thrown at FGR goalkeeper and the flare thrown onto pitch. I agree with them. The culprit was bundled away and possibly faces a long ban from Prenton Park.
Obviously the incident happened at opposite end of ground to the FGR supporters. Seconds before the bottle was thrown, I said to my neighbour the referee looks as if he is ready to book McGee for time wasting. He was walking towards goalkeeper when the bottle landed. Thank god it was an empty one.

Oh yes I smiled that every time ball went out of play for a FGR thrown-in, the ball boy raced to collect it and raced onto pitch to hand it to a FGR player. Only once did the linesman tell him off.
I disagree entire with FRG being "one of the better sides". They are head and shoulders above anybody else I`ve seen in this division and will win it at a canter judging by that performance yesterday. In fact I`d go far enough to say they are the best side we have played since we got back into the FL and that includes the half season we played in League 1. We got demolished yesterday. Totally outplayed from the first minute to last.

Jesus. That Swindon game.
How bizarre.
Could see the Colchester fans going mental beyond the goal when the equaliser went in - probably more in amazement than anything. How they got something from that is incredible.

Colchester were hopeless so for them to get anything out of that game, especially with 9 must have felt massive for their fans. All our fault really, If you can't see out a game when a very poor opponent has 9 players and an untried youth keeper then you have no real excuse.

Agree, they were excellent at ours. They'll probably surprise a few in L1 next season.

I was critical of him sticking with the 532 and I do think we'd be overall better off changing the shape but everyone knew their role and the pressing was better than it has been. Odusina is transformed under him, to be fair the team are defending pretty well now.

6 clean sheets in his 12 games so far. We havent won many of them though because we can't score. Hopefully he can find a balance but he definitely seems the cautious type.

Coventry were better but yes, they’ll certainly surprise a few if they keep that squad together.

Depends how they recruit and who they lose in the summer, few in that squad that will definitely be making good moves.

I did warn you that we had nothing up front, without Nombe and Zanzala. I disagree about you edging it until the sending off, I thought we started the second half much better and the red then made the game less expansive.
I guess we will sign someone tomorrow, the names I have read are underwhelming and reek of just making do. I think our best hope is if Nombe can get back in a few games and stay fit until the end of the season.

Anyone wanting to know how to paralyse FGR need to watch the video of our game.
We drew 0-0 with them earlier in the season, but they were a different beast yesterday.

Wilson and Cadden are their two best players and crucial to the way they play. If they lose either of those two in the summer, they might find it more difficult next season.

They are, our game against Tranmere a few weeks back was due to it being FA Cup weekend. They always are on international break weekends as well.

Yes Mansfield are the dark horse this season.
They have slipped into a play-off position and top current form.
The two clubs have yet to play each other so as Adam correctly states, FGR have not had a shot against Mansfield this season. But both clubs last match is against each other which by then might mean it irrelevant to promotion, play-off or placings.

Know where your coming from, think the first priority was to tighten up.
looking at the loan signings it’s far from cautious, lmo
Get Omar up to speed, find his best partner and we could have a very
Good 2nd half to the season.

Think with us that unlike Cooper who would have fallen out with one or two by now, the longer Edwards has with a group the better they get because he's got that ability to get the best out of a middling to decent bunch of lads. We'll still have off days and he's dropped some bollocks, cup game at St Albans being prime example, but barring too many injuries think we are set to carry on strong and even improve against tactics that threw us in the past.
All we need now if for a Chesterfield style masseuse incident to throw it all out the window :D

True, but the wing backs are vital to the balance of the side. They would not be half as threatening without them.

Weird stuff happens in football sometimes - just look at our FA Cup match at Barnsley. 2-0 down at half-time and down to 10 men - yet it still finished 4-4 at the end of normal time.

So it's looking good that we put three past FGR earlier in the season then.

Shame about the six they scored! :ffs:

Casey
That was a crazy game...when we went 4-2 up I turned to my mate and said "I still think we need another goal!"...from memory it was one of those games where the attacking players were really good, from both teams, but the defences were still on their summer holidays.

February and March are huge for us, we play the whole top 9 in that time with tricky games at Hartlepool away etc in between.
Sometimes a defeat such as Tranmere suffered on Saturday might eventually be a blessing.
The manager and players know they have to up their game and quite often that happens.

For instance:
FGR lost to St Albans [from two divisions below] to then go and win next five games.

FGR were winning 4-1 against Oldham but had to settle for a 5-5 draw. Since then they have won 4 and drawn 2.
Two wake up call that the team responded well to.

Tranmere remain 2nd in table for auto-promotion. Therefore they are a decent side and one sole defeat doesn't alter that fact.
Good luck Tranmere for rest of season.

Yeah, you on the final game of the season could be a potential headache if we keep up
