Because Crosby is mr negative. Just do what we’d been doing and we win but he’s always doing it, especially considering our defensive injury crisis.
Bizarre tactic. Then again, thats what we do away from home. Go 1 nil up and try and hold up.

Nice to score a late goal for a change

It happens in virtually every game. We play well, knock it around, look superior to the opposition without scoring enough and then just seem to completely forget what we did well. It'll get our manager the sack ultimately as we've got a good team that should be doing a lot better.

Well, we got Stevenaged.

Credit to them, they played to their game plan and pulled it off very well, and I have to be careful to avoid the kind of faint praise we always used to get under Ainsworth for playing exactly the same way, steaming into every tackle, giving the opposition no time on the ball etc.

Two stretcher injuries for us and in total I think we had 40 mins stoppage time if you count both halves, crazy game.

Anyway - a game to forget.

Even after we got a player sent off and it was 10 a piece, your keeper went down with an 'injury'. All your team went to bench to discuss tactics whilst waiting for the game to restart. Assuming he must have told the team to play like they are a man down.

Bit of a non event first half at Sixfields but second half we were much improved and deserved the win. Created loads of chances and should have won by more than 2, could have been 5 really. Burton weren’t great today, pretty insipid but created a few chances towards the end.

Hoskins with another good finish and 9 for the season, 22 last, 9 this so far, really is invaluable for us. Club legend at this point.

A good win for us today at Wycombe. Not much of a spectacle, game was very stop-start, with a total of 40 minutes added on. Not much to discuss, we put together a decent move at the end of the first half, good ball into the box by Hemmings and Reid got across his defender and a first time finish beat the keeper. We defended pretty well and were fairly solid and hard to break down, that said, Wycombe did hit the woodwork on a couple of occasions but outside of that there weren't too many opportunities either way.

Oxford deserved the win overall, although me managed to push and unnerve them second half but apart from hitting the post shortly after making it 3-2 we never looked like pulling back an unlikely equaliser.

First half was typical from us, don't really make use of our spells of pressure in the game whereas Oxford did, Sol Brynn has been excellent for us but his obvious blunder playing out from the back cost us the game I thought, he made a superb save to deny an obvious goal minutes before as well.

Robin Rodrigues was excellent for Oxford, could've had a hatrick.

One thing this team has done since Wellens has been here is never give up and we managed to pull it back to 3-2 quite quickly and Oxford for about 10mins lost their discipline and were rattled, but they did quickly manage to regain their control of the game with Brannagan and McGuane both very good in midfield along with Greg Leigh which I thought won them the game.

There is a good job there for whoever takes over at Oxford, a very well assembled team just missing a clinical number 9 - Harris isn't the most clinical and got caught offside a bit too much.

Pathetic.

Tallow can sit on his high horse and critic me for predicting defeat, but if anything I was too optimistic in predicting that this shower of shit would score a goal.

Even when they went down to ten, never in a million years were we scoring. Great red card by the way, literally stopped our one opening that we created knowing he’d get a red but also knowing full well they’d see the 20 minutes out.

Why I’ve bought tickets for Barnsley away next week I do not know. It’ll be another toothless performance and defeat. I’d be utterly amazed if we’re not rock bottom of this league by Christmas. We are without doubt the most inept team in this league and will be bottom before long.

Pissed off again thanks to football.

We’re down unless we sack Caldwell. Today sounded horrific in the first half…I’m lost for words at how bad we’ve become in a matter of weeks, injuries or not, it’s totally unacceptable. We can’t defend and we can’t score…Only one outcome.

Entertaining game for the neutral at Fratton.

Keepers made the difference today. Should have really won by a couple but some great saves by Maynard-Brewer, assisted by the woodwork, plus Norris getting beaten twice at his near post cost us. The Charlton curse continues.

Most depressing thing though was hearing that Regan Poole has done his ACL and is out for the season. He's been outstanding and will be hard to replace.

Fleetwood played a lot of good football and overall it was a dominating performance by the home team. Excellent start then Exeter had a good spell, ditto mid way through 2nd half. They are playing like we did very early in the season and like us back then lacking confidence, I wish them well but think it's going to be challenging
Brendan Wiredu has made a massive difference since coming back from injury, he scored a nice goal created by Phoenix Patterson, who delivered some quite superb crosses all pm. The reality for Fleetwood is despite being in a 6 game unbeaten run we are still in the bottom 4 an indication of the difficulties in aiming to get out of the brown stuff and into a much nicer place

I've already accepted that there's nothing we can do until January and you should accept it too.

As for Barnsley you won't be going anyway because it's off due to their international call ups so I'm suprised tickets were even available.

Yep. Worst result in my time supporting the U’s going back to 1990. We’ve lost heavier and against weaker teams but unacceptable to lose 5-0 to your local rivals in a league game.

In summary, we were pathetic.
At the end of the day, football is a load of old shite, isn't it?

Yeah just seen that. Tickets have been on sale all week. It only got postponed today so unless they could predict the future they weren’t to know.

Hey, look on the brightside

You were relegated three years in a row in L2 and managed to end up in L1, it could be worse

Just cheer up you miserable git.

Only two weeks to go and we'll officially have new better owners who will surely reveal what positive things they have planned for the club and when January comes we'll have fun splashing the cash to buy proper quality players at this level who will turn our results around and bring back the good times.

Funso Ojo is pretty pissed off in his interview, called out a couple of his team mates and the tactics. Glad someone has stood up and said it.

I thought we’d brought back the good times a couple of weeks back after beating Burton. You said we’d turned our results around and were declaring us safe at the expense of relegated Northampton.

Oh yeah it could be worse I know that. I’ve said that many times this season, whatever happens, the worst is we’ll be back in L2. Not the end of the world. But still doesn’t mean I’m happy about it.

Ha!

Well that's your fault for buying into false optimism, thinking things were good when really they weren't and now you're struggling with your emotions.

Don't blame me for it.

I never thought we’d turned the corner after one win over Burton. It’s just what you were saying. I fully expected us to go and lose the next few games.

If you think we’re going to be splashing the cash you’re going to be disappointed.

The budget will be slightly improved as part of the “step change” but that doesn’t mean we’re going to be flinging money around like confetti.

These new owners are business people, they are wealthy but aren’t like Wrexham level loaded. They aren’t going to want to piss away all their investment in the first window that’s for sure.

Gotta say we were really good today. Only Charltons array of last ditch defending, gk and cross bar x2 stopped us scoring 4 or 5. Chalton fair play almost sneaked it at the death. Ultimately 2 points dropped but can't be too down with the performance in general. Kept Blackett Taylor pretty quiet who has normally had a field day against us. Think Mousinho got out done slightly by a more experienced manager and missing Poole goes stop us being abit more composed at the back. Remember the name Alex Robertson. On loan from Man City, age 20 running league one midfields at the moment
