He’s probably got a bit of a neck strain and doesn’t want to make it any worse!

It's going to be a horrendously low quality game of football I expect for us at Morecambe in these conditions.

We really need a win, not only due the opposition, but also our next 5 games after tonight are Exeter, Plymouth, Crewe, Salford and Plymouth again!

On Saturday when Wellens turned round towards us and said Carlisle are a pub team, one fan responded with “I hope you get the shits”.

Well, that can’t be true otherwise we’d all have the shits!

I think tonight may well be the windiest conditions I’ve ever watched football in. It’s going to be shit, I just hope it’s a leveller and we can bridge the gap in quality.

Got to hope our new high press will just force Morecambe into rushed hoofing and we can win it back quickly and try to play on the deck.

Who am I kidding, this is possibly the most tin pot fixture in league 2. I'm backing under 30 mins that the ball is actually in play, but over 80% of that time the ball will be in the air. One for the purists. Or for a dodgy ifollow stream.

4 changes for us tonight. Col U usually have some fast players so it’s probably because of that, as the slow players are the ones on the bench.

Wow. Only two changes, but other than Palmer in goal and two of the CBS I have no idea who is going to play where in the other eight positions. Highly risky. And a tad concerning.

Pope in for Bennett, surprised as poor as Bennett was Saturday this is more his kind of opponent!

1-0 up through Brisley. Some abysmal defending on the corner from FGR it must be said.

Their pitch looks really bare in the half Vale are defending in this half.

This is terrible, two poor teams playing on a poor pitch with awful wind. Cambridge have scored from about the only shot of the game, was a good free-kick and the bit of quality you need to win a terrible game like this

Two now, missed the first one as stream wasn't working, that was a gift though. Apparently we started alright in the bit I missed then we've collapsed having gone behind. Vale look tidy and are pressing well.

2-0 Pope the scorer. Think that is a fair summing up of how the game has gone. FGR started ok but look a team with little confidence.

That first half should be shown to torture people. We've picked up 1 point all season when losing at half time, not very optimistic.

Well Holloway has certainly got us playing exciting passing attacking football, unfortunately he doesn't quite have the players for it yet so should be good next season!

We are playing ok but give the ball away too often, especially Green, no idea how he has ever made a career out of football! Too poor goals to concede but at least we fighting for it, and can see why Colchester are up there.

Definitely happy with that half. FGR nearly got one back right on the stroke of half time but other than that pretty comfortable for Vale.

Hopefully the FGR player is ok, didn't look in too good a way there.

Fairly controlled half despite Trevor Kettle giving us virtually nothing!

Started a very open game but once we scored we seemed to get control. Need to get a third and keep going.

Hope the FGR lad is ok, appeared to chuck up when it happened! Looks a nasty one.

We look comfortable. Forest Green look a side low on confidence.

Shout out to Trevor Kettle for trying to make it “The Trevor Kettle Show” as usual.

Looked like he got kicked in the knackers as they both went down together. No intent, just a tangle.

Yep, Forest Green were all over us for 10 minutes and then conceded and heads went down. Second one was a gift through overplaying at the back. When will they learn?

Kettle has given the worst first half refereeing performance I have seen this season. He's given a foul every time we've challenged for the ball and missed a couple against us. What do the assessors see?

Seemed to be his shoulder on IFollow. Nothing in it but your lad was stupid to get booked for dissent for that!

He's missed from our point of view too when it matters more, pull backs etc whereas agree he's flagged you for run of the mill challenges. Also fourth official watched a throw given the wrong way right in front of him. All a bit basic competence.
