Colchester v Grimsby on a Tuesday night.

Yuck.
Not a ground I, or anyone else really, enjoy visiting. Miles from anything.
Still I’m travelling down to it, more in hope than anything. Won in 2 of our last 3 visits but so need to sort out our defensive frailties.

At the minute I don’t even want to go to home games let alone that fixture on a Tuesday night.
I used to enjoy going to the football but now it’s a chore, sick of this club at the minute.

Not a clue how we will get on at Stanley though I'd take a punt on a draw if I was a betting man.

At least you didn’t expect a top three finish like those Notts County fans crying on twitter all week.

I am so long in the tooth I have seen so many ups and downs. Your club is for life, even when it is shite

I feel your pain!

Last season was bad, whenever we conceded a goal first I knew we would lose...this season feels worse, much worse, we will more than likely end our time in the Football League...will we ever return, who knows?

They're unhappy at losing Luke Williams but I don't know any who expected automatics and only expected playoffs from about October when we hit form.

We've been shite for most of our nearly 13 years in the EFL this time around. Those of us old enough have the glory of a team called Wimbledon winning the FA Cup and we had the meteoric rise from the depths of non-league to the EFL in just nine seasons.

The EFL has mainly been a disappointment with a few bright spots. Would I support any other team? No way. 37 years and counting.

Not feeling too optimistic for this one. Stockport looked a level above us back in October and I'm not sure that gap has been closed since. Crazy that County are potentially missing Rydel, Wootton, MSH, Pye, Stretton and Knoyle and still have the likes of Madden, Bailey and Touray off the bench.

Would snatch your hand off for a draw, but think it'll be a fairly comfortable home win.

Trust me they exist, every fanbase have the idiots though.m, or the young and naive!

That guy who does all the analysis for you actually said he guarantees a top three finish at one point

Collar (very close to a return) and Louie Barry (I don't think there was a better player in the division in the first two months of the season before he got injured at Crewe) too. Wootton may be fit enough for the bench tomorrow.

I am very pleased to see you said "...on twitter". How many Notts fans on this forum expected or even predicted a top 3 finish.

If you take much on twitter or similar seriously then more fool you.

Even in our current awful form and with an enforced change in head coach i wouldn't consider swapping beleaguered Notts County's position for that of lowly relegation threatened Grimsby Town. Seriously why would you?

Who was suggesting you swapping places with Grimsby?

Parkinson will set us up like we're playing prime Barcelona though and give you an unduly amount of respect. No offence....and no offence.

If we’re lucky, and we play well by our low standards, we’ll huff and puff and work hard but we’ll be as threatening as a kitten up front. You’ll have one attack and score.

I get Stockport are good, will probably win the league and should definitely be considered favourites vs us on Tuesday. But 6-1 for us to win, we're pretty decent aswell. That seems very long odds, especially considering our recent away form is half decent a draw at Tranmere and wins at Barrow and Mansfield this year.

As for the game, it's the start of a tricky little spell of games. I think it will be a tight game though, defensively were looking pretty solid, barring the game after we had lost O'Riordan and before Turns turned up where Matt Smith single handedly destroyed us, we look solid at the back, back to back clean sheets will give us plenty of confidence in trying to keep County out.

If I was to predict I will go with us picking up a very useful point on the road

Stockport 1-1 Crewe (Olaofe, Nevitt)

7/1 Harrogate too, they are immense away from home.
Ridiculous odds both of those. Might have a tenner on Harrogate there.

Bad news for all those that didn't get tickets for this and were on the fence like me as we've just had it confirmed that tickets are available on the day from the club shop Colchester.

I'd normally call you negative but I think I agree with you on this one. My heart says 1-1, my head says 3-1 to County.

I feel the same way, going opposite. We'll play negative nelly tactics away from home again. You need a win so go on lads, do your worst. Can't see anything than a home win.

Absolute bankers for Barrow and Wrexham so we need to keep the pressure on and beat Harrogate. Easier said than done, they’re in great form but they’ve not really beaten anyone decent in the last 10 games, Accrington about as good as it gets.

No-one decent then

They’re a very good side and they were clearly on their arse when we won 4-1 away in the autumn.

They’ve a great record at mansfield and they’ll be a tough nut to crack, plus we’ve not won at home on a tuesday since 2014 or something :ffs::lol:

I think our average away attendance thing might be taking a hit as we all settle into the idea of ‘mid table Notts County’, not something we’ve been for a good few years.

Newport were properly cack in the first game, obviously improved and I can’t ever remember winning there, so very promising all round.

Just biding our time now until the Gambian Pele (visa approved!) takes the stage.

As good as Stockport were when we played them at our place. That was the one time where I think Bell got his tactics massively wrong. At the time we were the top scorers in the league and we set out so defensive that day. Just hope he's learnt lessons from that one. Obviously being away from home we can't afford to go gung ho, but we have to make sure we offer enough attacking threat. A similar sort of performance that we had at Barrow a few weeks ago is what I'm hoping for.
