Doubt it would have mattered as we have been well beaten by Notts home and away, but thought we should have changed to a back 4 much earlier. We didnt learn from the game at ML when Jones again took the piss. Notts dominated possession and midfield with the extra body and we couldn’t live with their front 2 plus Jones. In fairness Notts were strong all over the park. One to forget and move onto Gills on the weekend.

To be fair that’s the first time we’ve changed shape in about two years, so I imagine you’d set up for us playing 3-6-1.

The 4-2-3-1 worked well, though. Langstaff in particular had way more space coming into the box from wide than he has as a lone striker of late, and Jones is just too good for the level but freed of any defensive responsibilities as a genuine winger he looked happier. Good stuff from us all round really.

Jones for that first goal, christ.

Maynard put round pegs in round holes tonight. The formation suited a lot of the players out there tonight.
Scouts will quickly cotton on to us but it's the first game in seven I think that we haven't conceded within fifteen minutes, at least gave us a chance rather than playing catch up all the time.

Yeah he needs time to work it out, the players are there. Robertson is turning into a right find, getting better every game, as good as Jones etc were tonight he was my man of the match.

Definitely made me more optimistic there’s something in this season for us.

I was at work. Meant to be on holiday but I need next Tuesday off for Crawley at home. What an absolutely bonkers set of results!

Mansfield v Harrogate.
Bradford v MK.
Barrow v Forest Green.

Yeah we lost but we're still in touching distance of the playoffs with a healthy goal difference.

A richly deserved win for the Pride of Cheshire in Greater Manchester tonight. We took our chances and looked very confident on the ball and never looked like losing. Turns and Demetriou were our rocks at the back tonight and I thought CBR and Nev were so impressive leading the line. Great hit from Austerfield too which sapped any chances of a Stockport comeback.

Can't believe how mediocre Stockport were. The triple sub at half time was ineffective and for as attacking as they looked at the second half they barely laid a glove on us.

10 points out of 12 against Wrexham, Stockport, Mansfield and Barrow away. And we should've held on against Wrexham too. Really starting to believe we can push on and get promotion now. Especially with our away performances since the turn of the year...
Challinor has plenty of credit in the bank but had an absolute mare tonight from start to finish.

Still slightly annoying that you scored from two corners that we gifted you and then we’re both shite deliveries originally but absolutely no doubt that the better team won.

Harrogate defence was m mistake prone today and gave us plenty of space in the final third, but we for once started really quickly at home and were just unstoppable, thrashed anyone in the league tonight no doubt. Clough made some changes, Boateng absolutely ran the show and was the best player on the pitch by a mile - he’s started about three games all season. I think once we got a couple the pressure was all off which helped massively.

The only downside and I know for a fact Clough is fuming at is the two goals given away, needless, on a plate sort of stuff but obviously a sensational performance.

True, but it’s also nice to see nicholls get 2 in 2 now he’s with decent players, highly encouraging.

I've gone away and had a few beers and I still want Colchester relegated but those beers have kicked in and I am now just fully stood here with my hands up in the air and I am being swept away in a sea of yellow and blue and embracing that it's finally happening guys. Please adorn your little dogs with tiny scarves as they pensively look into the distance considering the tribulations of Dempster and Flitcroft years gone by and thank the Lords Radfords and Clough that the wait is over. Yes it's here once again and we are all absolutely fucking buzzing. YEAR OF THE STAG.

I am still fuming we didn’t score ten.

For the last ten minutes they were just passing it about along the back line like Notts County.

Something needs to change. Surely they knew they could have made history.

I think Forest Green have also got more chance of going up than Carlisle staying up.

Laugh all you want we're not embarrassed where we are because although we're bottom and lose every match it's a higher level than down here and the football is such a joy to watch unlike it is in this shitty division.

I agree, this division is shitty and I hate it, that’s why we’re doing our best to get out of it again.

Mansfield reminded us who we are. A tiny club with the lowest wage bill in the football league and a core of players who have come up with the team from the National League.

Still just outside the payoffs on goal difference is crazy.

I must admit its great to see Fishy's stream of nonstop light hearted self denigrating posts about his club. Probably the best option in the circumstances.

Talking of great, just the three players swiftly beaten by Jodi Jones for his 19th assist of the season. All 3 goals coming from the right flank and should have scored more last night.

Agree with Robertson MOTM, he just needed to get match sharp and meet his new teammates. Good addition.

4-0 a classic example of taking your chances vs possession, we’re far from perfect but that was a really committed effort, pressed well and deserved win against a side in the Play Off’s, green shoots of improvement I dare say.
However I can’t not mention referee Ollie Yates and his borderline suspicious betting activity effort to book so many players in a game with no bad tackles that was all over on 51 mins and turned in to a preseason knock about, main highlight being Richie Smallwood now banned for two games due to ‘time wasting’ on halfway, an hour into a game we’re four nil up in whilst everyone’s jostling as usual in the box. Will be having £10 on high booking points in his next game which he seems to be on himself.

Notts County with a randomly good win away and huge confidence boost right before playing us then is it? Ok.

1 off results like that are great and attract news but ultimately it’s just 1 game and 3 points.

It’s back to the grind on saturday against walsall.

Just pleased we’ve won 3 in a row since that inept wanker of a ref at wimbledon riled everyone

Strange, but entertaining game.
Swindon should have been three up before we scored but after being in front only to concede an equaliser in the 95th minute, it felt like a defeat.
Then their keeper pulls off an absolute worldly with the last kick of the game.
Swindon looked like a team that should be higher in the league than they are.
Draw a fair result in the end, even if it was hard to take at the end.

You must be using most of that wage bill on Rod MacDonald considering you offered him more than double the amount we did.

Although no crazy high line this time, you are at home and you'll be absolutely fine . Langstaff will be marked out of the game and won't score as you are a Top 7 side, Mullin will score and Lee will comeback into form.

Big crowd, big game. Hoping for a tweet full of praise or respect from one of the owners.

Don't like bashing refs but he was a ridiculous little Hitler. He actually stopped Smallwood as he was taking the free kick so that he could book him.

Breathless game at Priestfield last night. 2-2 but could have been anything. We had 3 cleared off the line, Gills had 2 disallowed and hit the woodwork twice. We really should have been out of sight at half time but, yet again, making multiple subs in the 2nd half led to our undoing. Great spectacle, though.

Fair play to Crewe last night, deserved winners. Neither side created much in open play but as a team they worked and pressed really hard which gave them the foundations for the win.

Nonsense, everyone knows that's Gillingham. But no, you're right. We all hate your tinpot away allocation but credit where credit's due, Weavz is a shining example of what can be achieved by sticking with your manager. I know it helps that his father is the owner, but you can't argue against the season you've had. Especially with all the crap that went down with Armstrong, you've proven that the collective should be prioritised over the individual. A top ten finish would be a great achievement, playoffs would see 'The Gaffer' in contention for Manager of the Year.

Well that was a pretty dire performance from us at Accrington. They weren't much better than us other than the two good strikes for their goals . We've gone from being good away from home earlier in the season to being poor. In contrast our home form is good as opposed to earlier in the season. In truth it was a typical league 2 game that lacked any quality.

Sadly we don’t have that physicality anymore, hence our position. Couple of big centre backs and maybe Harry Smith will start this one. Other than that we’re lightweight and way too nice. We’ll likely gift wrap you a couple of goals, 1 minimum, and you’ll leave with 1-3 points, most likely 3. We won’t score more than 1 and we’ll be lucky to get 1. Walsall must be some level of poo to have us take 4 points off them this season.
Pretty accurate prediction!

Hard to believe Sutton are bottom from the two performances I've seen from them this year, blatant penalty denied for them at 0-1 as well with McClean playing basketball in the box.

Interesting to see what PP does for Saturday now, back three was completely changed (by choice) and played well, Evans seemed to do a hamstring and Luke Young looked decent in for him, Palmer showed up well when he came on.
