Freak. Monsoon conditions.

It has not really rained at all for months. We are in drought.

It tends to not rain much this time of year in the Cotswolds, but on the rare occasions it does, it can be a tad heavy!!

Saturday will be fine, don’t worry.
So similar to the conditions in Exeter today then. Our pitch looks immaculate...

Think this will be a tough test. I doubt we will play the same side as yesterday, most of them played a full game in the heat. Stubbs and Caprice to come back, and maybe MJ for Kite.
But Taylor usually surprises us so who knows.
I know Wycombe have had a poor start by their standards but fully expect them to start winning soon. Just hope it isn't Tuesday. If Wheeler plays he will get a good reception.

I'll go for a 2-1 to City

we have no recognised first choice strikers available - so Wheeler has apparently been deemed to be a striker, and starts? WTF. So he got a sloppy deflected goal on opening day...hmm.

Don't know where Ainsworth is going with that one - must be embarrassing for our forwards that are on the bench if they aren't even considered worth a start over a non-striker. Perhaps we're about to ship at least one of them out on loan?

Wasn't super confident before, but I'd definitely take a draw now.

But surely it should not be standing water for long?

Very frustrating, comfortable for much of the half and looking the most likely but a 25 yarder which looked poor keeping has cost us.

Game there for the taking really and MK have started time wasting for half time so need to keep going, I’d be tempted to throw Proctor on.

Really lazy defending from us for their goal albeit was a nice finish into the corner.

Outside of that we’ve actually played alright. Looked competitive and Sammy Robinson once again having a great game at RWB. Hussey on the other side it’s painful seeing him try to get forward now.

First bad half we’ve had all season. Not dealing with Burtons physicality at all.

They’re getting it into our box at every opportunity and in this stormy weather it’s causing carnage. How they didn’t score from a long throw inside a minute I really don’t know. 1 yard out and he’s managed to head it basically backwards. But then the ref has given a corner despite it looking to have hit the post perhaps? Very strange but a huge miss either way.

We have tried to play the odd nice bit of football when you we can but a poor half nonetheless by our recent standards. Think we’re fortunate to be level. Have to give credit to Burton who are nothing if not effective at what they’re doing with the long throws and the long balls into our box.

Edit - Losing Burns to injury before the game is huge. With him playing in the World Cup already, we need him for as long as we can before then.

Well this is going well. We haven't had too many chances but have been clinical. Great second goal.
McLeary lucky to still be on the pitch

Exeter deservedly 2-0 ahead. Neither side has looked great, but ECFC have created 2 good chances and taken them.

We've put a non-striker up front...and you can tell. Wheeler is just not creating the level of distraction we need, nor getting in the positions to convert any of the few chances we are carving out.

? A yellow. Your player shoved him, McCleary shoved him back - the difference being, your player was near the pitch boundary and went flying. Yeah it was more dangerous in McCleary's case and the yellow was the right call, but it was hardly a major assault.

Conceded on 45 which is frustrating as we had been nullifying Pompey up until then.

All to play for in the second half.

Can’t be helped.

First rain we have had in months and it has been biblical.

Well yeah I noticed that. Should have called it off earlier, blatantly wasn’t going to happen. I work in Reading, rushed here for nothing. Luckily I don’t have a long drive home though, unlike the Accy fans.

Can't believe we're losing this, we're all over Barnsley here.

No in honesty we're getting torn a new one. As good as Barnsley have been, we've been absolutely atrocious. However, I actually fancy us to get a goal back and Barnsley's defence to get shaky, we've grown into it a bit for the final 5.

Cue 6-0 loss

Played well first 30 odd minutes, Reece James sent off, looks about right, now right up against it. Lucky to be goalless at the break.

Our game is off, waterlogged pitch. Apologies to any Accy fans making the trip, pretty shit it's happened this late what with petrol prices as they are.

Burton fans have just thrown a coin by the looks of it and hit our keeper. Scum. Ban whoever it was for life.

Soft red card changed the game. Was even up until then.

We are so poor in the air at the back. We’ve conceded 5 goals so far and every one of them has been a simple cross into the box headed in. It’s a serious problem.

What a disastrous result. A poor MK Don's have had really 2 decent efforts on goal and scored from them. Worst team we've played so far, comfortably, which doesn't say much about us.

No cohesion in attack. A strange team selection which suggested that we had set up for maybe a draw at best.

Really frustrating that MK Don's were there for the taking tonight and we put in that performance.

Furious to lose that against an awful MK side, looked lost once the subs were made but that’s the fitness situation catching up with us.

Need a striker in and Wilson fit ASAP as we’ve really let ourselves down tonight in a game that was there for the taking.

Two awful goals to concede as well. May as well put up a paper mache wall that bother with the one we did for the second.

Thrown away the points there and pretty concerned we’ve managed to lose to a side that looked so poor on the night.

Only positive is we’ve had most key players missing. Real let down though. Huge game Saturday now.

Not good enough, Exeter deserved their win but we were crap at defending set pieces AGAIN, despite these having been the problem against Shrewsbury at the weekend.

We need to sort this out, we've previously been able to rely upon the ability to keep clean sheets but we look far from it at the moment.

And can we have a striker please, I don't care if Wheeler scored today, it's not his strong point.
