utter shite tonight reminded me of last seasons clueless garbage tbh we havent looked great since the opening day win and been reliant on our defence holding out and Johnson poaching didnt happen tonight and we had no creative spark in the team to do anything about it.Lumping it to midgets is never working at this level.

Rode our luck at times but battled to a win vs a Sutton side that were very wasteful in front of goal. Sutton clearly well organised but not very technical or creative. Very direct and physical but we matched them with our own physicality and I feel we deserved that victory despite it being ropey from us.

Need to be so much better for Northampton on Saturday, but I'm taking 3 wins from our first 4. Took us till the first week of December to win 3 games last season!

Fully deserved to win even if it’s skewed by the sending off but that’s something he’s got to explain to his teammates.
I mean you’re right he has, by touching Rowe you have to rely on the dreadful officials not to fuck up.

But having seen the video it wasn’t an uppercut as you described it but a push/grab to the neck area. It should have been a yellow.

This is Carver you’re replying to. As I’ve said many times, he thinks every League 2 club other than Carlisle is tinpot and have no right to be even on the same pitch as us.
Surely Carver is just another guise of ScunnyMadAndy

If we still had those bumps you complained about a month or so ago the match would probably still be going on now.

You make it sound like he had some common sense in the first place?

Watching a match at your ground, on your pitch and seeing your fans looked like it was all from the 80s. The shit kind.

Didn't see the game but sounds like the usual grind with very little quality. Saw the teamsheet and the formation (523?) With Cooke and Feath the two in the middle, what kind of control are you going to get with them and that setup? Thought it was a good time to go to bed.

Not enthused by anything Pools at the minute. Seems the crowds are on the slide and that'll have alarm bells ringing for Raj. We're on a knife edge i think, don't win on Saturday and I can see it unravelling. Hartley needs to find an effective combination and what he's putting out is anything but at the minute. Did say I'll give him 8-10 games but little evidence presently of this "fast paced, attacking football" he said he'd bring.

You are a fucking idiot mate. Reed had his best game of the season and we were marginally the better side in the second half. Still I’m sure you would have made all of the right substitutions from the side of your tv
Just what do you think I’m missing watching on iFollow that I wouldn’t at the CG. Reed was poor - again. Obviously whatever system - and I use that term loosely as it appears we don’t actually have one - doesn’t suit him one bit. He doesn’t influence the game at all anymore. It’s pointless having, what was, the league’s best DM if he can’t produce that form in whatever jumbled ‘system’ Lindsey is attempting.

*Josh Gordon is a bit of a midget - but caused you more issues in the air for you than the taller Abrahams did to us.

If it had been the other way around you would say it was a deserved red, you can’t do that, especially in front of the official

Thanks for Wakeling. One of the few bright sparks so far. Looks a helluva young player.

You've got Leicester to thank for that. Besides, his confidence would've been shot under Cooper.

We were the better side against Hartlepool but they had the two best chances of the game. Aside from the opening 10 minutes and those chances we were fairly comfortable and could have scored ourselves.

Midweek away at Hartlepool isn’t an easy one but we’ve come away with one point better than last season! We struggle away at Newport usually but if we can grind a win out there, then 4 points from these two away games would be a great result.

I think the biggest benefit about last night bar the three points is it might make Clough click on that George Lapslie and Ollie Clarke need to start more.

Hartigan was pinging it about beautifully when he came on too.

Major concern with Oates going off, with Hawkins and Akins likely out for Saturday aswell we are very light upfront.

Deserved win over Rochdale, was pretty nervy towards the end but we held on for the win. First 60 minutes was all Stevenage, we had a lot of the ball, and got into a lot of promising positions but we didn't create a mass of clear cut opportunities or force their goalkeeper into a lot of saves - that said we were a threat from set pieces, it was where our three best moments of the game came from really, the goal, our disallowed goal and probably our best chance too.

Last 25 minutes Rochdale offered more, Rodney forced a save from Ashby-Hammond but aside from that Rochdale worked the ball into the final third frequently but it was snuffed out by the defence before they could muster an effort on goal. With the score at 1-0 it left the game in the balance and made for a nervy ending but nonetheless we managed the game well enough.

Still early days and time for them to come good, like you not really gonna judge any of them until at least the first 10 games, been impressed with a few and less than impressed with others, will say I don't like us playing with a lone striker, he's just too isolated and has to do all the graft himself, need to play a proper 532 or 433 and got some bodies around him or our shots on goal are going to continue to be in the handful.

What a dreadful, soulless football club Doncaster Rovers have become. Belle Vue was such a superb, classic and vibrant stadium with a passionate fan base. Now the club exists in a silent, boring, bowl of a stadium in the middle of an industrial estate miles away from anywhere. to make matters worse, there was goal music to try and create an atmosphere. It's almost as bad as Man City's pre-game light show. Cringe.

Would absolutely hate for that to be my weekly football experience.

Moving onto the game, how the linesman has seen 'an elbow to the head' as has been described to DC is truly astonishing. It's not even like he was far away or his view was obscured. Nothing of the sort he described happened so I'd be seriously concerned about his ability to be a match official or even worse, affected the game for his own gain....

From our vantage point, I couldn't see if the winner actually went in, but considering what he supposedly saw for the red card, I wouldn't be so sure he accurately saw whether the ball crossed the line or not.

As things go, on the balance of play, you have to say Doncaster deserved the win as we defended superbly for 70mins with 10 men, but couldn't quite get it over the line. A team with the likes of Tomlin, Clayton and Agard really shouldn't be struggling to beat a team with 10 men, so that's a testament to the way we defended.

The county contingent were unreal last night. Never stopped singing despite all the adversity being thrown at us by the tepid officials.

Frustrating night overall. A potentially exciting game completely ruined by a linesman with either questionable vision or an ulterior motive.

‘An ulterior motive’. Anyone who thinks referees or linesmen hate their teams and give decisions against them for that reason is a bit silly.

It's never a red card that for Southam Hales. Seen it back. If it gets overturned, that lino on that far side should never be part of the refeering team at this level again. Spoilt what could have been a really good game.

Doncaster deserved to win after that. We were lucky to get level again at 1-1 with our only real attack. Just caught them cold after HT and poor from their keeper and then at 1-1 it was onslaught. Our goal led a charmed life so no complaints that they scored.

Every ref Stockport have had this season has had an agenda against them. It's so strange.

Challinor's thugs at it again. Decent team when they keep 11 men on the pitch but they crumble every time they have a man sent off.

Soft or not, you can’t do what he did and if the boot had been on the other foot you would have expected Rowe to walk. I thought you started well so any anger should be directed at your player as to why he did what he did, absolutely unnecessary and stupid. Your fans were fantastic best atmosphere we’ve had for a very long time and yes I detest the goal music. As for the stadium it is what it is, without it we would have no club

I'm really not sure I would tbh pal re: roles reversed, it was a nothing incident lets be honest. It's not a red card in my book. I'd be really surprised if we benefitted from one of those decisions.

I didn't criticise your ground, it was another poster. I thought it was smart, just by its nature a bit too big for you. I thought some of your older players who have played at higher levels like Clayton and Tomlin really showed their quality. Was it Tomlin who had the shot that hit the bar. That looked some voodoo shit to keep that out. Looked in all the way and then even when it hit the bar, it's trajectory looked a bar and in situation. Couldn't believe it when it bounced out. No complaints that you won after we went to 10 men. Only complaint is the red was soft (in my opinion) and obviously changed the course the game was going in.

Stockport fans are just struggling to adapt to the harsh reality that their title favourites are not playing the Dog & Duck every week. Complaining about refs is the classic football coping mechanism when delusions of grandeur come crashing down around your ears.

Neutrals on here can judge. Interested in what they think. Bear in my mind our coaching staff said the offcial told them he told the ref it was an elbow. As Challinor says, if it goes in as an elbow on the report, it will have to be overturned. But they'll most likely change their story now.
