Think that's been a great performance from Colchester. More than in the playoff conversation. Notts seeming lack of any sort of Plan B very evident in this one the longer it went on.

We are extremely difficult to score against.

Wimbledon have been absolutely terrible.

Don't get everyone's obsession over them, personally. They've been very lucky in a few games lately. Their defence is just so solid. They look poor away from home, which could be the reason they miss out on the top three.
We aren't great away from home but we draw and then win the homes. That's often enough

Colchester are easily the most boring team in the entire EFL. Don't get me wrong, their brand of football works, to a certain extent. But good lord is it dire to watch.

Away from home, three days after a 13-hour return trip to Carlisle, against one of the strongest sides in the league? Were you expecting us to be expansive tonight?

Yep. Wimbledon were awful tonight and deserved to get beat. They're very solid in defence though. They were, however, very fortunate to get away with that tonight. They offered nothing. Home form will keep them in it, but away from home they look a different team.

My post is clearly aimed at the season as a whole. 15 draws, the most in the league by a margin of 3. It's dire stuff, but very much the Cowley's brand.

All I can say it’s a good job Morecambe are woeful, we missed a good 5 clear cut chances yet again but we were hanging on for most of the second half even when we had 11 on the pitch. As for the pitch the less said the better, I thought ours was bad

piss piss poor. Colchester went man for man knowing we didn’t have players that could hurt them and Maynard’s had no answer (yet…again). How we came out for the second half doing *exactly the same* is bewildering beyond words - just play it long or something for 5 minutes, anything, just something different.

We’ve not got it, Maynard certainly hasnt. We’re back to hoping the likes of McGoldrick and Jones come back to save the incompetent manager’s blushes.

Having seen many of those draws, I would have to disagree. Drawing so many games is nothing to do with 'brand' or some past reputation that I honestly don't think applies these days, we've just lacked the finishing touch in attack hence bringing in four new forwards in January in an attempt to try and rectify that.

The football is just fine and we create plenty of opportunities.

Well that was definitely a point gained and not 2 lost at Fleetwood. Watching us away from home is painful.

Same for both sides though. Thought you were outbattled tonight. There's nothing wrong with admitting you deserved to get beat...it happens.
I admit that. I was more making the point that's not how we usually are.

Horrid game for the neutral. We fought our way back into the game but despite the amount of possession we had, we've not tested the keeper at all. Fair play to Donny in the end, saw it out eventually and were miles ahead of us in the first half.

A word on the officials: Hopeless for both teams, some bizarre decisions all night and the liner on the near side didn't have a clue when to use his flag for anything. Wasn't surprised when it boiled over at the end, clueless.

Good record against MK Dons. Will be shattered after tonight but we have a decent sized squad, so hopefully a few changes. That Crowley fella always plays well against us. Hope he has an off day. 2-1 City.

I know they have financial issues, but park football is played on better pitches than that. Can see that being a leveller in some games between now and May. Makes you wonder…

Watching us at home this season makes me want to claw my eyes out with a spoon.

We were a bit lucky that Colchester decided to go into timewasting and protecting a point mode with about 20 minutes left for no particular reason. Just force of habit, I guess. They looked a decent team before that.

We were awful tonight. However you'd always take a point away from home. Fleetwood looked sharper than us tonight. We haven't been great away from home recently. Jackson needs to use the squad on Saturday just to freshen it up as much as anything else

In all the years I've been watching Fleetwood, this is the most one sided game I've ever seen. From start to finish Fleetwood dominated, first in the tackle, superior in midfield BUT their goalie hardly a shot to save all night Manful defending from the Wombles but not a good night to be a fan of theirs. Stats are incredible for the Cods and Pete Wild will be well pleased...apart from not putting the ball in the net. Good luck to the visitors in their quest for promotion and safe journey home

Yeah not great, can't play your best in every game but it's too common at home. Injuries are piling up a bit but I don't think any of the regular starters played all that well, apart from Palmer and Abbott possibly. Colchester were decent, I can see why they've been on a good run and we didn't do anything much really after the goal. Certainly need to win on Saturday.

From the numerous reports back I'll take that as a point won. We would have lost that last season.

I messaged my son just before I left work saying that it sounded dire. When he replied his response was "76 minutes of fuck all so far".

17th clean sheet of the season. If we can do it at home we're still in with a chance of automatics.

Apparently something has gone wrong with the pitch, but I mean, why wouldn't you try and use it to your advantage? We'd get played off the pitch most weeks if we had a carpet like we had in League 1. Technically, we're awful.

So poor away that we're 8th in the away table. You do know you get promoted from this league by winning at home and drawing away?

Grim old watch, attritional stuff. Colchester were exactly as you'd expect from the Crowleys and deserved their point.
We've got to do better than that, keeper didn't have to make a save all night. Hopefully Whittaker starts on Saturday because without McGoldrick we don't look like opening teams up.
Gordon put enough decent crosses in but with only one striker on the the team defenders are having an easy time of it.
Poor old Curtis Edwards looks miles off the pace and really shouldn't be starting.

A little harsh on Edwards especially has he's not allowed to make a forwards pass or run.
Wood away from 3 extra points last two games.

Yeah makes sense, it could be a leveller in games. Makes me wonder whether we should do similar to our pitch because what we’re currently doing sure as shit isn’t helping us.

What have results got to do with anything? I'm saying, you always look poor away from home. Only so long your defence can bail you out of games.

Yes to a degree. However we have conceded the 4th lowest ever amount in league 2 at this stage. So I recon it will continue.
