I honestly dont think theres much wrong with Vale, horrendous luck. Tutte will be a big loss but if we are to go up we have to win these games

Important game for us at home to Salford. Our league form of late has been LWLWL and with being beaten by Donny in the cup at the weekend, we could really do with getting back to winning ways, fail to win and suddenly it's only 2 wins in 6. Our demolition of Crawley which drew so much praise seems a long time ago now, even though it was only a week last Saturday. Salford seem like a pretty average side at times but are only a point behind us with a game in hand (to be fair anyone below us in the table is the very definition of average as I'd say we're the most inconsistent 'decent' team in the division).

Owing to the 7pm kick-off, we'll be the first side to let fans back in. We were the first of those teams with pilot games to kick-off too, for the same reason, early kick-offs are now the norm for us. Our average attendance this season pisses over everyone else's. We have 1700 of the 2000 available capacity taken up by ST holders, this doesn't include ST holders who are unable to attend due to living in tier 3 areas or Scotland. The remaining 300 tickets sold out on general sale.

Wirral is in front of those Welsh hills well i learn something new everyday
One of the major selling points of the million £+ houses on the River Dee side of the Wirral is their views of the Welsh hills and mountains and sea views. Seems odd to sell them that way if you can't see them wouldn't you say. Dion Dublin lives here and has a wonderful view of all. Do you know more about property than he does. Is he another on your growing list of people who are less knowledgable than you.

It is unfair, but he understands why it’s a positive for those clubs too, I think your reaction is OTT.

Just seen some interesting comments from Cambridge fans who have a large dislike for Nigel Clough, he’s not said anything outlandish or out of order, he’s just expressed a opinion that’s pretty popular throughout, you lot need to stop getting your knickers in a twist, it’s pathetic. Be thankful you get to attend tonight, I’d give my left bollock to see Mansfield get comfortably beaten tonight :D
He’s moaning when he doesn’t need to and trying to imply his side will be disadvantaged by it when many of our fans are actually think we have been playing better because there have been no fans there. We’re just pleased to get fans in and we’d be pleased for any other club to be doing the same. The sport exists for fans and can’t exist without them - to try to spin it as a negative just makes him look like a tool.

Anyway I hope we can get the win tonight but it’s going to be a strange atmosphere and I sense the occasion may well get ahead of the players so it could well work against us. I hope that’s not the case but it’s going to be strange for the players to play in front of people for the first time in 9 months, I’m not sure how they’ll react. But we’ve got a decent side with good players so hopefully they can rise above it.

Rafa’s got an unreal gaff as well hasn’t he. Seen it from a distance and looks more like a castle tbh!

Our game at home to Mansfield will see our first league game with fans in attendance, I’m pretty excited even though it’s obviously going to look and feel very different. There’s only 2,000 of us there and we’re going to be in all four stands so will be rattling around a bit. And there’ll be masks etc but just being back at a game again is going to be an amazing feeling.

Nigel Clough is already in the local press saying it’s unfair clubs in the south have fans back and clubs in the north can’t. We’re going to make a bit of money this evening (not a lot mind, but a bit). Maybe he wants all clubs to refund all season ticket holders instead? Prick.

Anyway there’s actually a game going on. We’ve got to see anything other than three points as a poor result tomorrow, especially as Mansfield played 120 mins yesterday and we’ve only played one game in the last 10 days against their three. We should have a reasonably full team I’d have thought.

If we lose after waiting this long to get back in I’ll be gutted.
Don't see any issue at all with Clough's point. It's common knowledge up here that the government are treating the North different to the South. Not Cambridge specifically but certainly London, when coronavirus spikes in the North we get a local lockdown (often painted with a very broad brush), but when it spikes in London we get a national lockdown.

In any case, our CEO has said we'll actually lose money on letting fans in.

Some of the houses here are bloody amazing. It has some of the highest prices outside of the South East.

Clough is happy fans are starting to get back but it doesn’t make a difference about how obviously unfair it is, and the reaction from yourself and fellow fans is bizarre, he’s just joined a club that’s really struggling on the pitch then suddenly we’ve got Cambridge and Carlisle away with fans for the first time, it’s for the best but still frustrating for a manager that desperately needs luck on his side to turn around our form.

Read what he’s actually said might help to avoid jumping the gun in the future. Mansfield Town boss happy to see fans back at football

He has been investing in property for a long time. Thats why he is worth a lot of money. You are not a master builder either but i very much suspect you are something very close.

Birkenhead is a shithole (albeit one with some nice architecture) but if you want fresh air and great views you can't do much better than somewhere like West Kirby. I'd plan a day out there sometime.

Behave.....it was a wed night in the middle of January -6 and the match live on tv
Thats true and it was a little wet so the poor little darling couldn`t come to the game in case they got their hair wet. I seem to remember that we sold out the away leg quite easily and asked for extra tickets only to be refused yet we got there to see the entire upper section completely empty. Quite obviously Bolton with their 130 million plus debt didn`t need the money.

I'll tell you something that's getting annoying, is having to scroll through about 5 pages of Tranmere/Bolton debate about something that is completely irrelevant to the topic. All I want to do is read what fans of other teams have to say on their games.

Theres a lot of nice places on the Wirral. We only get to see the bit the ground is in when we visit other towns for games. If that club plays in the town which carries its name of course.

That coming from somebody from Carlisle is hilarious to be honest. Can you still rent rowing boats out by the day up there when it rains?

Yes we like our home comforts....At the time maybe our chairman did not want the extra money
We had debts of less than 15m

He must have got off the train at Hamilton Square. We will probably have to demolish that soon because it was paid for by Lairds and they got rich building slave ships and supported the Confederacy in the US Civil War. No point living in the past though. Only now matters and we are all supporters of teams in division 4.

My mate lived in Birkenhead for a bit, on Price Street. One evening someone put a brick through his car window. He didn't get it repaired right away which was silly of him as a car parked in Birkenhead town centre with a missing window is just an open invitation for someone to torch it... and that is exactly what happened the following night. This was all within a week of him moving there. One Eye City we used to call it :p, he moved back to Liverpool as soon as he was able.

It's not that bad to be honest, like I said it does have some nice architecture, and the waterfront area is pretty decent but it also makes some of the rougher parts of Liverpool look like Chipping Norton in comparison.

So would i but its not easy when somebody constantly snipes at everybody and tries to belittle others. I have never seen any Tranmere fan calling your club. I doubt any would. We played at the same level as you for 3 seasons and if any club has a right to feel hard done by it is yours after the re-election thing. Southport and Workington deserved to be voted out but you lost your place on the basis of a club having a good cup run. Their subsequent history showed that was unfair.

Not that high......or i would be including the isle of man and the lake district.....must be the best views in England from up there
As an experienced fell walker, I suggest you get up some proper hills if you enjoy views. BarraMatt should be able to advise. Winter Hill is pleasant enough, though!

And yes, as mentioned the Wirral is directly between Bolton and Snowdonia.

Funnily enough, the same thing happened to my sister when she moved in the opposite direction, except it was all in one night. Some rough areas in both Birkenhead and Liverpool, but which Northern towns don't have?

The contrast between West and North-East Wirral always astounds me.

I wasn't accusing any Tranmere fans of calling Barrow out, don't worry. It's just there's been a few threads that have been derailed by the same debate/argument recently, and I appreciate who on the whole starts it. It just gets a bit tedious to read through.
