Flynn has put a rocket up that Walsall team compared to the Matty Taylor one from last month, aggressive and dirty - led by Labadie, and they bullied us, especially second half....we on the other hand, look a team without any structure, all a bit too manic...need to go back to four at the back.

The stats make our win look like a bit of a freak result. We made our own luck though and stayed resilient, in no small part thanks to Mark Howard. First half, we weren't on the front foot but coped well with Rochdale and then scored a fortunate goal off a keeper mistake.We really should have extended our lead too with Dennis and Patrick both spurning good chances, and the referee inexplicably not awarding an indirect free kick in the box for what looked an obvious deliberate backpass.

Second half we looked more comfortable until around the 75th minute mark, not long after both Devitt and Guy came off. What ensued was 10 minutes of rearguard where we just didn't push out and an equaliser seemed inevitable. It was mostly down to a handful of excellent stops from Howard that we weathered it and eventually were able to take the pressure off ourselves following a Sho Silva counter.

I’m glad someone else sees what I saw.

We are very poor, the lack of quality is as clear as day.

But the new manager has added some fight and desire to these players which along with a bit of luck got us the result.

Carver seems to think we’re all of a sudden a great team.

Can you not just be happy with the win for once without having to bring up all the negatives too?

Even if we had won 5-0 you would still have to say 'Oh we won by a few but we are still the worst team ever' etc.

I'm not one to criticize a ref. Most our level are pretty sure for both teams but I reckon Yems' constant bad mouthing us having an effect. Poor, poor, poor all game but we should have realised when he was shaking hands and hugging the Oldham players before the game!

Still he wasn't the reason we didn't win. Our own ineptitude was the cause of that. I've finally figured out why teams cut through us like we ain't there. It's because we ain't there!

Entertainment in the rain though. Four half decent goals, a manager sent off and a ref to be angry with.

Hard to tell from the vantage point in the away end but not too sure what the ref did wrong last night. Awful conditions which could have made the game quite attritional but was entertaining nonetheless. Another away point for us and on to a huge game at the weekend.

Good entertaining game this evening. We were good first half and a couple of really good chances were spurned. FGR stronger second half and we were holding on a bit at the end when down to 10. FGR best I’ve seen us play this season - good outfit. Brakespear as per didn’t have a clue - on the receiving end today but I guess we had the break with our pen v Tranmere last weekend. Down to the bare bones at CB for the Gas this weekend. Only have Demetriou available.

You might only need one CB if Loft and/or Leon Clarke play

Oh I’m happy with the win. And I’m delighted with Simmo being back.

Yes I do still think we’ll go down, but with Simmo we’ve got a hell of a lot better chance of escaping than we would have if we’d kept Millen.

We were 100% down with Millen, absolutely nailed on. Simmo being back gives us a chance, it’s a very small chance with our lack of quality and tough run of games, but it’s still a chance nonetheless.

First time I've seen that clip - never a red as the striker hasn't got the ball under control or even that likely to be able to get it under control. I guess that's what the appeal was based on.

BUT monumentally stupid to tug him back like that knowing you're the last man.
