I think we've been the better team bar 10 minutes in the first half. But when you concede 2 goals off their only shots on target, you're climbing a mountain.

Hopefully even in defeat there are positives heading into a run of “kinder” fixtures. Just need those two wins asap to avoid relegation

Exactly what I feared when we lost Scarr and Cooper this.

Defence is made of toilet paper here. Worrying signs.

We are so shit and so is the whole of the bottom of the table. Our collective efforts today are embarrassing.

I’ll say this though we will probably lose this its the most encouraging performance from Vale in a long time. No complaints Bolton have the lead as part of the game is stopping the opposition from scoring which we make too easy at times. That not withstanding we’ve done alright.
I agree. I think you’ve been the better team today. We have been way off the pace. We rotated a bit and have a few injuries but this is as good an away performance as I’ve seen at our place in ages.

Plenty of positives and I expected to be worn like Sooty and Sweep today so pleased we’ve put in a performance but the outcome is the same, avoidable defeat, better side conceded all our shots against and didn’t take anywhere near enough of our own and paid for a sloppy ten minutes mid half…

Could literally copy and paste from many recent games!

There’s enough good to take into future games starting next Saturday against MK. Whether Bolton were a bit tired from Wednesday who knows but fair play you got the win and nobody will remember the balance of play at the end of the season. Wish we had Trafford or someone like him, that right there was the difference.

Disappointing result but pleased with the performance.

Yeah I can’t believe we’ve won that actually. Normally when we get done at home it’s a team that sits deep and counters but you actually outplayed us for large periods then. A decent summer window and I think you can really kick on next season.

Same old story...better team for a lot of the game but we rarely score 2 and often concede 2. Never a good mix. At least we had 2 strikers on the pitch today.

Yeah he made the save at your place too right at the end. Can’t believe you’ve only taken 1 point from us over the 2 games. I think a few did look tired but don’t want to make excuses. You were the better side today. We’d have lost that game last season 100%.

Sloppy performance from us today. Don't know what FGR were doing first half but they looked atrocious. A great finish from House, and if we'd have pushed on, could have been comfortable.

2nd half FGR go more attacking (understandably) and Garrick equalises and it turns into an end to end game. We looked dangerous from set pieces but pitch looked very poor.

Draw a fair result. Can't see enough from FGR to survive. Draws aren't good enough. Draws are just what we do.

When you're in good form then you'll pick up those wins when not at your best. On a side note, Santos was back to his oil tanker performance again...he looked dodgy and gave away a lot of fouls.

Well we are back to form. All that was needed was playing the right players in the right position. Who knew?
Cambridge had a few chances but ultimately we controlled the second half. Mcdonald was superb.

He did, that was one of the best have seen as a reaction save that was. It’s good we’ve tried to take the game to teams at the top of the table, hasn’t always come off but just occasionally it has such as Plymouth and Derby.

As I say though we are very easy to score against if you can fashion a half decent opening. Makes it hard to win doing that. Good luck anyway for rest of the season.

In the last 5 games, we've been on top in terms of expected goals in every one of them. We've won one. I think that tells you everything you need to know about us.

I couldn’t go to our game today so went to Peterborough/ Plymouth with a mate instead. Glad I did because it was very entertaining! Thought Peterborough played some really nice stuff and their front players were a real handful especially Poku. Caused the Plymouth defence all sorts of problems.

A real off day for Plymouth especially defensively as they were pretty all at sea for most of the afternoon. Warning signs were there early and they got cut open with fairly simple straight balls multiple times and couldn’t deal with the direct running of Poku and Mason Clark at all really.

Scrappy game, we were way off the pace. That said, to be expected after Wednesday, today was always going to be a slog.
Good teams are those that can play well below par and still come away with 3 points. Move onto next week now!

We have got 8 points from the last 39 available, yet we're still 2 points clear of the relegation zone. How bad are the teams below us?

I'm not Wade out, I rarely call for a manager to go, but I really don't care if he's sacked. Being 3-0 down at half-time 2 weeks in a row, regardless of who it's against, is disgraceful.

I do love your agenda… did you even watch the game? He committed 1 foul… 2 interceptions and 8 clearances. Not at his best but certainly didn’t have a bad game.

Fully deserved win against a mediocre Wycombe team today. Never really felt that we would concede this afternoon, even after going 1-0 up in the first half. Very comfortable 2-0 win that was.

Huge game against Derby County at Pride Park next weekend. Win that and we could suddenly be making one or two teams within those top 6 places just slightly sit up and take notice of us.

Brave effort by Morecambe but you can see why they are struggling.Fleetwood just about edged it, 3 successive 1-0 home wins, another clean sheet, and we now have 2 more points than we finished last season with. Morecambe played plenty of decent football but their final pass/ cross/ shots were woeful. Hope they stay up, plenty to like about them

The last 8 shots on target that stone has had at him 7 have gone in. Whereas today Trafford makes 2 good saves one from Harrison and another from garrity. The other night Morecambe scored from there only shot on target a mistake by the keeper but we had a goal disallowed hit the bar and there keeper Ripley made a couple of decent saves. The only reason why we kept a clean sheet against Exeter was because they didn't have a shot on target. Against Cheltenham away we were the better side and Holden missed a sitter by hitting the bar from 2 yards out, against Accrington the ref cost us the points there but Jensen the Accrington keeper made a couple of decent saves. We don't take our chances in our games and all our opponents do. So with that continuing to happen I honestly think we are in serious danger of relegation.

It’s certainly frustrating but have to also caveat our attacking problems with the fact we’ve been playing with no striker or only the one in the last few games, today was the first time since Dec 29th we’ve had 2 to start so that should improve with games and fitness. Great that Ellis got his first goal that wasn’t a penalty since mid October and should do him the world of good. Plus most keepers aren’t at the level Ripley and Trafford are at. Trafford literally got Bolton 4 points against us on his own and it’s an area we need to address.

Seeing their goals back, does sum up our problem, first is yet another set piece and awfully defended. Slow to the early corner, didn’t close the cross down and didn’t mark the man, Stone maybe could come there and make it more difficult.

Second is a good hit but again another from outside the box. It needed sorting in January and wasn’t, it certainly does in the summer. Half Decent keeper and we are probably 10 points better off.

Critical we get Jones or Cass back for me to boost the back line and certainly the options there but today is the first time we’ve been able to name close to our best XI and we’ve performed well, Wilson back soon now he’s training so have to attack the next 12 games positively and get the 2-3 wins we need. On paper it’s a kind run in now but need to not be the glorious failures and make our dominance in games count.

Win next weekend and we will be almost there.

Feel more positive after today than I did before, just need to hit those levels against the poorer sides and we will be ok.

Stop being so dramatic, you'll be absolutely fine.

I miss the Vale fans complaning about refs!!

Young Plymouth fan shouting "is this a library" in a pub in Peterborough before the game.

Deserved to get thumped after that :dk:
