They absolutely stunk the place out at ours. 10 men behind the ball, zero intent to even try and attack and a range of actors that would make DiCaprio jealous. They only started actually playing a game of football once they went behind.

Honestly one of the most disgusting performances I've seen from an away team at Vale Park for many a year. The chief actor scored the equaliser, and instead of celebrating with his supporters who had done a 400 mile round trip on a Tuesday night, ran over to antagonise home supporters instead. I would have been seething as a supporter after that joke of a performance.

They lost at the weekend, so expect the same sort of stuff.
Something to look forward to then!

At the risk of sounding like I'm due a lobotomy, I almost fancy us to turn the form book inside out at Walsall. The best attack in the division against the worst defence? Surely it can only go one way, you say...
That was the case a couple of weeks back when we faced Notts County. Yeah it does go one way, sadly.

Whether Tyriek Wright is fit or not, surely Lewis Richards deserves to keep his place in starting line-up. Much better defensive awareness than Wright. Just don't understand why Alexander persists in trying to convince himself and everyone else that Wright is a wingback. He is an out and out winger and very poor defensively.

I think the results speak for themselves, despite what you might think - we’re solid, even with Wright at LWB. Admittedly, he got torn a new one on Saturday.

It’s clear Wright has a clinical attacking edge too, given his assist count thus far.

I like Richards, but his stats just don’t compare to Wright’s. It’s that simple.

Accrington at home. Piss easy win like Morecambe away on Saturday.

A tough trip to Fleetwood, who still seem to be battling inconsistency but have only lost twice all season. We'll still be down 5 first teamers, maybe a couple more depending on how quickly some can recover from knocks. I'd take a point at this stage.

Shepherd struggled whilst having to cover for Wright on Saturday, indeed the whole defence did. We would have lost in my opinion if Wright had have stayed on.

Once Richards came on, Gillingham never had a look in and Shepherd, quite rightly, went on to be the man of the match, and not just because of his goal.

I actually feel sorry for Wright having to play left wing back, he quite clearly looks very uncomfortable with the defensive responsibilities.

Wright struggled at the weekend, I agree. But the game turning on its head wasn’t solely down to Wright going off and Richards coming on. It was down to us upping our intensity before halftime and scoring when we did - it deflated Gillingham. Quite easy to do when you’ve lost 3-4 games on the bounce and you squander a lead the way they did, after being so dominant in the opening 30 mins.

This Wright debate absolutely baffles me, almost as if Wright doesn’t want to play there and we’re somehow rendered useless when he features. For context, I believe we’ve lost 4 games in 20 whilst he’s slotted in at LWB - during that time, he’s scored once and set up 5 goals.

It was bad in fairness, made Westley at Stevenage look like Guardiola's Barca

Its the only time I have seen a referee get so frustrated with it he made their player go off after he jumped back up for treatment to enforce the 30 second rule. As mentioned though when they did have to play and have a go at 1-0 down they actually looked half decent.

400 mile round trip to watch that. Awful.

4/6 is great odds for the Walsall win. £500 stake and it’s an easy £333 profit.

Honestly with the way we defend and the rate Walsall score, this could be silly, 6 or 7 silly. Wimbledon put 4 past us on our last away trip, but it probably would have been double that if they hadn’t eased off after 50 minutes.

Walsall 6-0 Carlisle United

Fair play to any blue travelling to this on a Tuesday night after what we served up last time out on the road.

As horrible as it sounds you have to just drag em down to your level.

Make game dull, tedious, time waste, do just the basics and frustrate.

It might then open a gap when they start to get annoyed in second half.

The key is frankly keeping a clean sheet in that first 45 minutes, the issue for us more than anything is somehow being able to keep a clean sheet in that first 45 minutes!

Bradford should absolutely destroy us, but there's something about Whaddon Road under the lights against teams that should destroy us.

I've got us to lose 2-0, but I wouldn't be surprised if we shocked Bradford to be honest.

We beat Forest Green and Barrow away on Tuesday nights last year, but for whatever reason I'm never confident when it comes to them. We've had some shockers over the years, so it wouldn't surprise me to see us lose either.

Tuesday night away at an out of form Barrow?

I think we’re struggling a bit for fitness, Didzy playing 90 minutes back to back in 4 days sounds like a bad idea but not sure we have any other option.

Macari also limped off so could see McDonald or Ness come in for him (assume the former).

Bass
Macari Platt Bedeau
Gordon Abbott Palmer Tsaroulla
Crowley Jatta McGoldrick

is clearly our strongest XI at the moment until Jones and Grant are back so let’s not complicate it eh Stu? Leave Sam Austin back in Nottingham please.

Can’t see McGoldrick starting again, assume one of the reason’s he did 90 on Saturday is that he’s on the bench for this. Think that’s okay to be fair away from home where a point is okay, back to a box midfield. He could do anything with the wing backs at this point.

Travelling over to The Wirral.
Tranmere got a good away win yesterday at struggling Bromley. Grimsby, despite winning 3 on the bounce away, are expected to struggle. Record at Prenton Park not the best iirc.

Is the Fan Park still open to away fans? - enjoyed it in there last time. Better than the game anyway
Key question is can we fill the bench with players who are actually able to take the field and are not injured…

Surely if Tharme is able to start we go 3-5-2, drop JDS to the bench and hope Barrington comes up with a bit magic from 10.

About time we won a Home game. Travelling up for this and hoping we turn it on. An early goal would be nice to force Colchester out to play. Longer it stays 0-0 the worse it’ll get you’d imagine.

It will be interesting if we stick with 3-5-2 or go back to 4-2-3-1

I would imagine the main changes for us will be up top. It’s a big ask with Stockleys physical style to do three games in a week so would expect he’ll be rested ahead of Wimbledons visit at the weekend.

Ripley
Debrah - Heneghan - Hall
Cover - Croasdale - Garrity - Shorrock
Chislett - Tolaj - Curtis

Got to play Stockley here I’d think as imagine they’ll be physical.

Get him through this week give him Barnsley off.

An early goal feels crucial doesn't it. I do fancy us to create chances, but if we don't take them it could be a long old night. This is one where Mandy at RB is probably the way. Reckon Grigg will be back in. I see what you're doing dropping Dobra for Jacobs for this one. Just that tiny bit more patience and guile could work wonders.

Last time I went to Chesterfield was for a Tuesday night game and we were smashed 6-0. Hopefully at least a little bit closer tomorrow.

Morecambe at home. We don't have a great record against them although I always remember our win against them at their ground in 2021. An all too rare away match for me.

Rovers v Grimsby, another midweek game I’ll be missing. After a weird starting formation at Bromley, including initially Omari Patrick at left wing-back, a combination of poor finishing from the hosts and good keeping by McGee saw us stay in the game long enough to then finish a couple of chances clinically.

Rovers the opposite to Grimsby in that our injury list is down to just a couple and Sam Finley back after a couple of months absence looked decent in midfield. Adkins indicated in his post match interview that there were likely to be changes, but his personal favourites Davison and Jennings keep making the cut despite their performances not really justifying selection.

Yeah and I just feel Dobra could do with a rest. Jacobs gets some stick but he has a bit of class and you just feel that’ll be what we need tonight. Berry for legs.

I think the most we'll get from Thomas and Bogle is about half an hour as well. Hopefully Tabiner is fit, we saw him on Saturday and he reckoned he could have played then but they didn't want to take any risks.

Tonight will be my first trip to Fleetwood. I'd be very happy to take a point as well.

Is Davison the guy who was at AFCW? Strong, puts himself about but very limited from my occasional viewings.

As someone else mentioned, Grimsby’s issues are not just injuries to probable starters, but the bench has been made up of the semi injured and therefore the starting X1 doesn’t change until the game is virtually over as the subs just aren’t ready to play.

2-0 Tranmere ( I’m still travelling over later on)
