Don’t think that Lee O’Connor did as good a job as Jay Spearing usually does protecting the back line. There’s merit in what you both say but expecting Jay to be back in the staring xi v Bradford
Bristol Rovers cut through our midfield like a knife through butter without Spearing. He reads the game better than O'Connor, tackles better, and passes the ball better.

Some of our fans have this weird idea that he should be bombing box to box and spraying balls about like Beckham because he once played in the Premier League. He is a defensive midfielder, and a very good one.

O'Connor is more mobile, but that is it.

He will be. Doesnt mean he will add anything attacking wise.

65 goals scored 63 conceded in the 61 games he has played. Tight defence, shite attack. Is it a coincidence. Rather see the Johnny King gung ho approach myself.

This might be controversial but i would like us to start without Spearing in the team because i think he slows the play down far too often. Several times this season we have had a chance of a counter attack and he has gone sideways or back with a pass when a forward pass would have been the right one. He contributes to our negative approach more than a positive one. Its frustrating at best.

We have a midfield full of players who slow things down but not as good as Spearing. That's why it's going to be a dour tight affair tomorrow

I've a funny feeling we might actually lose this one. Head says 1-0 Colchester, although the heart says a 4-1 thumping and top of the table we go.

On paper we should win, its a fixture we will be looking to win, but as mentioned our record at Scunthorpe is terrible. In my 26 years we've only won there 3 times in about 16 visits - 2 of which I was there for and we never play well, its a small tight compact ground and we've just never seemed to do well at Glanford Park.

I still expect Keith Hill to slowly pick results up by Christmas or have walked away from them by Christmas if they're as bad as mentioned.

We will likely rotate one or two players as we have a hectic schedule coming up.

Mansfield away at sutton, which is only 3 miles away.

Alas this is an imposter sutton somewhere in london or wherever it is.

Seem to have taken to life well in league 2 which is nice to see, though their home record and form is a little dodgy so it would be nice to be able to get something from the game given our little run of form.

Heads up Barrow fans, those of you coming down tomorrow will be welcome in the Green Man at the ground if you fancy a pre-match pint.

No chance. Unfortunately.

Just to add that apparently all Barrow fans will receive a voucher for a free hot drink at the turnstiles, courtesy of Stirz Brands.

But even that's more than three miles from Manchester.

In case anyone doesn't know where AdamStag lives.

Manchester

Actually, the borough of trafford which is in greater manchester. Home to altrincham and some other side in red.

Come on, get it right!

Why do you need to protect your back line? You are playing Bradford. All you need is a CB who can head out long punts from our goalie.

Really could do with a win. We haven’t won in about 200 years and are staring down the barrel of non league.

But Harrogate are where they are in the league for a reason, and we simply don’t have what it takes to win a League Two football match.

Expecting a comfortable Harrogate win and another nail hammered firmly into our relegation coffin.

If Quinn is out tomorrow we will be in trouble, Bowery being out is not usually a big miss but we’ve not got Lapslie, Oates or Johnson at the moment.

We'll get a win at some point and it'll likely be a shithoused win we didn't deserve, might as well be tomorrow.

Crawley v Newport.

Always seems like a tough match even when we are good and they are bad.

Could do with getting a decent run going after the bad run we have been on but every time we look to turn a corner a few more injuries turn up.

Appiah has been very good for us and coupled with Nadersan gives us a quick forward line. Just need to sort out the midfield to create some chances and protect the defence.

Tough call this so I'll go with my heart not my head 3-1.

I'm feeling a bit better about tomorrow after taking stock. We were far superior to Oldham and even their fans were amazed that we hadn't won. We'll have the odd defeat here and there but we've just got to respond positively to it. We'll play worse and win.

Walsall are not on a stinker of a run but they are not setting the world alight and have a few key players out, so I'm thinking that we are playing them at a good time. With Wilson or Proctor in I reckon it would be comfortable but I'm still thinking 2-1.

Creating is not his job though, and never has been. Hawkes and Morris can give us the creativity.

Yeah we’re in big trouble if he’s out. You could see the difference when quinn went off saturday in the last 20 mins.

Bowery had a decent game saturday.

We have a similar problem without Jack Sowerby, after a couple of games out, he played on Saturday and made a big difference.
