No amount of fantasising by you is going to alter the fact that your club is now a lower league club that caused its own problems. Nothing is also going to alter the fact that if your team performs as well on the pitch as you perform badly on here then promotion is a certainty.

Just a bit! Had a look before. One poster genuinely calling for beech to be sacked. Absolute madness! We’re 6th.

I don’t think we set out to stifle you. I just think your midfield got on top of ours which hasn’t happened for a while. Big part of our success recently has been suffocating teams, winning the ball back high up the pitch, relentless pressure. Pretty much all the loose balls and 50/50’s were picked up/won by white shirts last night. We just couldn’t get going really.

That's exactly what Tranmere did to us too - they won every single 50-50 and al the loose balls, and just like yourselves we couldn't get going at all. It was only the third league game of the season and yet everybody could see they were a very good side, one that would soon climb up the table.

We all tend to blame our players for what we believe to be a below par showing but there are times when one has to be honest and give credit to the other side, but I feel we don't do this nearly enough.

2. We sold our two best players and also lost our manager in the summer after getting promoted.

Just had a look and almost your entire squad was made up of experienced Football League players. And Macauley Bonne.

Nobody is very good from what I have seen so far, not take a lot to put Vale in a good position.

I beg to differ Conks. There doesn't seem to be any standout sides this year but IMO Newport, Tranmere, Cheltenham, Vale and Exeter all have very good sides for this level. Salford do have a good side as well, at least on paper, but I'm not so sure about them. We did beat them 2-1 but they should've been 3-0 up by the end of the first half and I don't think that's the sign of a good side.

Our budget isnt massive. Last season it was £3•36m in wages and that was including all staff. Playing, management and coaching (57), non playing full time (48) and non playing part time (330). Hardly premier league level.

Tranmere were the worst team to play Mansfield so far but it was the season opener and I agree their squad is decent, but that’s different to being a actual good side over the course of a season, Cheltenham and Newport were bang average against a pitiful Mansfield side

Obviously one game is never the full picture, but what set of fans on here are consistently posting they have a great squad and are a really good team? Cheltenham fans don’t seem to enthused so far despite being 2nd, FGR lost to Mansfield so they clearly have problems, Salford squad is over-rated in my opinion although I do expect them to finish top seven with the new gaffer.

Maybe Cambridge are the ones? That’s one side I must admit I’ve not taken enough notice.

The best team in the division is Barrocelona, they might only show up once or twice a season but when they do good luck.

Swindon Crewe and Northampton are currently in the bottom half of lge 1
Unless you spend the maximum allowed this pre season everyone who goes up this season will struggle.

I don't think you can use this season as an example to be fair.

Swindon lost their top two scorers who were also the top two scorers in the division (I haven't double-checked that stat, but Yates was second for a time at least) and Northampton, whilst they absolutely deserved to win the playoffs on their performances in them, are arguably the worst team to have ever won promotion. They were only heading in one direction when lockdown hit and Vale were very much poised to take their place.

Crewe is an odd one though. We'll see if they've digressed when we play them in the cup on Saturday.

This season we will have a shocking set of financial figures as will most clubs, but we will still turn over proberbly treble of Grimsby, your wage bill will certainly not be a third of ours.
That is why it is laughable when we get slated for paying decent salaries to two or three players.
