Or Paddy Madden with his ears cupped to the away stand. 3-0 Stockport.

He must have been Yeovils best bargain buy ever as we only accepted a whopping 10k! for him and he went on to make them a Championship club that very season.
Also ridiculous how around that time we let Naki Wells go too and on a free!

We do have a tight bunch due to all the injuries, but in forward areas we have less than a tight bunch. One fit and available forward in Kristian Dennis and even he is only just back from a few weeks out. Plus Sho Silva but he’s only fit enough for 10 or 20 mins at the moment. The rest are either injured or suspended. It’s a dire situation.

Carver is right to fear a defeat in this match. Playing over an hour on Saturday with 10 men may have sapped our energy and I fear there may be a big hang over just 3 days later given the fact we don’t have any players to rotate them with.

I’d take 0-0 right now but reckon it will be a 2 or 3 goal defeat.

I do fear us against the real soon to be L2 overlords after the shambolic defending in our last match, with the quality in their squad I think this will be Stockport finally making a statement to the league by annihilating us 5 or 6-0 no problem against our weak as piss squad.

Expecting a tight game at Holker Street tomorrow. Biggest margins in any league match between the two sides has been when we beat Crawley 3-0, every other match has been decided by single or two goals I think with plenty of draws thrown in. We know what we'll be getting at Barrow on a Tuesday and we know what we'll be getting from Wild. Old man Wild's Halifax last season were quite negative but we found them incredibly tough to break down. Will be interesting to see if his Barrow team goes for it a bit more. Will be two sides who should be up for a scrap, could well be decided by who has recovered the best from their Saturday matches. We're a fit squad but a long journey after a high tempo match against Bradford isn't ideal.

Unfortunately I won't be making the legendary lower league pilgrimage this season as train tickets from London didn't seem to be released for ages and when they were they were upwards of £100.

It’s all gone a bit flat recently. Lacking creativity - Cook isolated.

Chapman is wasted at CAM. Pereira creates absolutely nothing. Wright has been off it since he returned from International duty.

Desperately need Jamie Walker, Scott Banks and Abo Eisa back from injury.

We seem to have an OK record at home to Swindon. Long way for them to travel midweek - I’m predicting a close 1-0 win.

Cook - who else!
I thought Chapman was a threat in the first half against us but had a much quieter second half.

Hmm I wouldn’t go that far.

Although we have lost the last 2 in all comps and shipped 5 pathetic goals in the process. So there may be method to your madness.

Yeah I like Chapman but he can disappear, I think it’s probably a fitness thing. Our squad don’t seem the fittest which is why like against you we start strong and seem to have a stinker second half.

I don't think we've been negative at all this season - our struggles usually come if we give away a cheap goal and spend the rest of the game knocking on the door. I don't think we've even salvaged a point from a losing position(?).

I think we'll be pushing from the off, and rested one or two on Saturday who should come straight back in. We've been poor at converting chances lately and can see it becoming a bit hostile if we're losing at any point. A draw would be acceptable for sure.

Sadly with it being a midweek match i won’t make it, whereas i’m sure you’ll enjoy the delights of mansfield, the railway (one of my locals) will be a good shout for real ale and proper home made food, oddly or not it’s near the train station.

it’s about a 10 minute walk from the ground and you’ll always get a friendly welcome.

Alternatively you’ll get a few in the sandy pate bar behind the west stand if not showing colours or the pub/bar under the old brewery is decent also.
Cheers for this - will check out the Railway.

Feels like I've only just got back from the long, long, disrupted trip to Carlisle (amazingly over 250 Os made the journey, which is pretty impressive considering the omnishambles that is Avanti West Coast, and the entire train network across the UK in general).

Gillingham at home for us, not sure how much I fancy this one. Home win on paper, but we were definitively second best against 10 men on Saturday and are starting to look pretty leggy. Smyth could be out again, El Mizouni doesn't seem fully fit, and Moncur was absent up in Cumbria, and those are three of our key players.

Don't know too much about the Gills this season, but I would expect them to come and set up for a draw, so a lot will depends on whether or not we can break them down.

Could well be 0-0, which after stealing 3 points up north on Saturday, wouldn't be the worst result in the world.

We could use a week or two off just to settle some of our niggles, but it's the same for everyone I suppose.

Please start Jordan Brown, he's actually excellent and fully deserves to start.

It was a big battle in our boring 0-0 on Saturday so you’d imagine there’ll be some changes. Our away form is ridiculous but no doubt this will be a huge challenge to that form and I’d probably take a point now.

In theory it should be a good game at VP tonight between the sides in 5th and 6th. Both sides form sounds pretty identical, we've won our last 2 via scratchy performances against inferior opposition at home but we're only showing what we're capable of in patches. Some fans have said our play is boring but (and perhaps I'm easily pleased) I think we play good football, but without really looking dangerous and with a guarantee of a rick at the back at least once a game. The wing backs is where we seem to have most joy, Hutton has been great at RWB recently and found his crossing feet. Just need Jephcott to get on the end of more of them. On the other side Blake-Tracey is more of a solid defensive LWB but gets up and down the pitch but doesn't have the delivery Hutton does, however is probably our most dangerous weapon from set pieces with his heading ability.

All that said I think Bradford with the fire power of Cook might have enough to take the 3 points. I'll go with a 2-1 defeat.

I’m a bit worried about tonight with Coughlan coming back and I think we have a decent amount out injured too.

You are aware that wing backs are employed in a 5? Our FULLBACKS are in a 4. Just saying

Really boring stat for the poolies or any Rollin Menayese lurvers on here, when he has played we've conceded 1 goal per game in 12 and when he hasn't played (8 games in all comps) we've conceded 25 . He's been missing the last few games and will tonight. Nowt amazing, just competent but he's by far the best CD we have. Imagine if we'd signed (or kept) other average L2 defenders like him. Salford by a goal or two for me tonight.

Dennis good bet to score, ex-player law and all that.

I can see there's injury issues there, I hope you're right about sapped energy but I think you and Carver are teaming up for a rope a dope tactic here lads.

You know what, I'd take a draw too. I'd shake hands on it. Ball ache for me getting there tomorrow, will do well to make kick off. We need to keep ticking off and grinding out some points until we inject some pace into our team in January. Seen your lot have already sold 900 plus, great following that's going to be on a Tuesday night.

Funnily enough you mention taking 0-0's, you Carlisle lads long in the tooth enough to remember the last day in 2006? A lovely convinient 0-0 which cemented you as Champions and us as staying up. Two fans have never enjoyed a 0-0 together in such harmony before.

Don't think we'll go as far as the pitch invasions but yeah I'd shake on a 0-0.
The 0-0 at yours in 1997 in the AWS Area Final was an even more memorable night.

Apart from almost getting crushed in the overpopulated away end the atmosphere was first class.

Always a worry with former managers, or a prominent former player returning. We played a striker at LWB and RWB on Saturday and tonight will probably be the same so if you get it right we will be vunerable.

Got to wait and see but he may be forced to change to 4 at the back.

Yeah my bad, I have a habit of writing LWB and RWB. On that note I wonder whether SL might be tempted to go with 3 CBs tonight?
If one of them is Harries . I don't fancy your chances.

Imagine! christ.

We’ve already won the same amount of home games this season than we did in games in total in his 27 games he managed us

We are rightly favourites tonight but despite being unbeaten at home our last few performances have been below par/average draws with Carlisle and Hartlepool and even the win against Walsall.

Thank god for ifollow.

very true.

Some of the tactics used in the last few games have also been questionable, playing akins as a wing back for instance, whereas in largely supportive of him it’s like he’s got to play him.

Now i’m clearly not laying the blame at akins as that would be ludicrous there does become a time when you wonder if he’s droppable

I’d personally like to see swan and akins uptop tonight, or at the very least lapslie in the centre of mid ajd not on the wing which was also a bizarre decision Saturday

Paul Huntington the latest player to drop injured.

This season. It never rains but it pours.

With that team we’ve fielded, tonight is an absolute write off. Damage limitation.

I was about to lump a bet on Stockport but then remembered you Carlisle lot are weird and predict yourselves to lose every single game.
