Well it's about time we go out and beat those Morecambe fuckers at home and get back to winning ways.

One change I'd make is to drop Kayode and play Gavin Reilly upfront who is meant to be the best finisher of our forward players, Kayode is too much of a target man who for some reason takes the throw ins into the box when it should be him getting on the end of them.

It's no wonder our front players struggle to score.
For the obvious reason that he takes the best throw-ins, even if ideally he would be the one on the end of them. I wouldn't drop him though because if that XI plays to its best ability we should be able to beat Morecambe.

Morecambe are a big strong side, be tough for anyone. Their midfield duo especially are huge.

Looks like our emergency goalie loan has happened. Icelandic dude, 6 foot four, reading’s 3rd choice

Never played a first team match, apparently. Bit of of a gamble from Matt.

Gianluigi Buffon had never played a first team match and had only been playing in goal for 4 years in the youth team before he made his Parma debut v AC Milan who had players like George Weah, Roberto Baggio and Zvonomir Boban in attack.

Sometimes the gamble pays off.

Our next three games have been postponed due to Covid-19. It's a joke we weren't allowed to postpone Saturdays game but at least we've been able to now.

I didn’t come away from watching us play Morecambe at their place thinking that at all.

Typical.
Guarantee you he saves 2 penalties and scores from a goal kick.

I also think score draw to echo the earlier predictions

Just by a guess of the numbers, I would assume some of our players who played on Saturday will have contracted it which obviously means Exeter players might have too.

Truly shameful by the EFL to make us play, they've essentially put another team at risk due to this.

I wonder if Grimsby will be like Walsall, Colchester and Morecambe and camp on the edge of their own box for most of the game whilst we pass it around in front of them, or whether they'll come out and play.

It would be nice to be involved in a more open end to end game for once, rather then us gifting a soft goal and then spending the whole game dominating possession struggling to break down a massed defence. Seems to be the same story every week at the minute.
There is zero chance of us setting up camp. Hopefully you don’t press us because we can’t keep the ball for shit.

You came away from watching your lot at Morecambe? How come you got in?

The likes of Diagouraga and Songo'o look like CB's playing in midfield.

Well what a time for the forum to go down yesterday - we absolutely played Mansfield off the park last night - even the BBC Radio Nottingham commentary team said we could have had 8. 4-2 was the end result, but that makes it look like a fairly close game which it wasn't at all. All 4 Barrow goals were good - which you can't say about Mansfield's defending - our 1st 3 goals came from defenders (RWB, LCB, LWB) and how you let a central defender get the ball in open play and smash it in from 25 yards without closing him down is a mystery.
The Mansfield manager (now ex-manager) was lucky there were no fans allowed in - judging by their forum he would have been strung up by his balls from the main stand after the game....

We were surprisingly poor in possession, well below our best but still won pretty comfortably. Don't think McGee had much to do at all.

We kept giving the ball back to Grimsby second half and they passed it around doing nothing with it. Think part of that was them pressing high to stop us playing out and part of it was down to us realising that they were pretty toothless.

Still a wins a win, on to Cheltenham.

A perfect away performance last night at Walsall. We let them have the ball and hit them on the break which we executed perfectly.

We had a number of injuries so it was great to see players coming into the first XI and not letting that affect our form.

I said if we come out of games against Newport, Port Vale, Bolton and Walsall with a decent points return then I would say we are contenders. 10 points from tough fixtures.

I had a read of the Walsall forum who’s fans were very complimentary of us, which is always nice to see.

Thought we were gonna get off the mark with a flukey, backs to the wall win at home.

Delighted to be off the mark at last.

Nine goals in three games and we seem to have found our shooting boots. Just need to iron out these mistakes at the back as it's letting teams back into it when we should be out of sight, as per the Bolton and Walsall games.

we started slowly 2 goals down after 4 mins. Crellin/Babtiste gifts.....We then played you off the park for the next 86 mins.

1-0 victory against Bradford. Our goal was pure comedy. Crellin saved a penalty with Bradfords only attempt on goal in 90mins. Crawford should have scored three in a first half we dominated. Second half we was poor, Bradford had a lot of the ball yet never looked dangerous. Crellin a bag of nerves at crosses
Sarcevic looking better each week, Delaney exceptional.
Will get stronger in the next few weeks with up to 6 players returning, but until he takes our keeper out of the firing line we will ship goals.

Huge comeback win for us against a decent Cheltenham outfit who had won all their away games prior.

We were a bit sloppy first half in possession but defended well apart from a mad 30 seconds when they should of scored four times! Brown with two great stops, then they hit the underside of the bar in a mad scramble before going clean through after we had cleared our lines! Crazy passage of play!

Conceded a poor goal straight after the restart which was frustrating but unlike previous games this actually kicked us into life. Leggey buried a corner four minutes later, we then had a great chance about thirty seconds later to complete the turn around and then Askey did what Askey doesn’t usually do and made a pro active substitute with Pope coming on. He always terrorises Cheltenham down the years (2 hat ricks) and from then on we were excellent, Worrall took a good goal to put us a ahead and we were positive and had chances to add to it, notably Pope poking a chance that rolled against the inside of the post.
What has been notable in recent weeks is our game management and we saw it out comfortably.

Three wins in four with Salford and Cheltenham beaten is decent and we seem to have finally clicked back into gear; we’ve been getting better week on week since our blip and the horror show against Carlisle.

Amoo seems to have made a difference and Worrall has found form. Burgess was excellent last night who’s had a poor season.

Cheltenham we seem to have joy against but they were probably the best opponent we have faced and to beat them is a big boost.

4 points better off than at this stage last season so well ahead of that marker and 8 of the 9 we’ve faced were top half at kick off yesterday.

Southend up next... any Vale fan knows how this usually goes! Hopefully we don’t do our usual against teams who’ve not won in ages!

saw that goal on twitter and that was worse defending than Mansfield last night....

Absolutely woeful away at Crawley last night. No heart or desire out there and sadly that’s driven by the manager.

Haven’t seen a Tranmere fan that doesn’t want Jackson gone. He made a sub after 35 mins again yesterday which has happened numerous times already this season in the first half and is a clear message that he has no idea what he’s doing. Ask Mansfield, Leyton Orient, Newport and Crawley fans what they thought of us and that gives you your answer on how we’re playing with no identity whatsoever.

I’ll always be grateful for his work under Micky Mellon but I’m afraid it’s time for him to go before we leave it too late. There is now way we should be playing the way we are with the squad we have.

Yes we did. We should have had 4, even 5 by half time with the amount of chances we had. You got back to 2-1 via giving away daft free kicks in dangerous areas. Gave Doyle a free header for 3-2. Your first two goals were our own undoing. Second half you must've had 80% possession but weren't exactly peppering our goal with shot after shot and we had opportunities ourselves. Your last minute equaliser probably felt like a win after being 2 goals down twice but it wasn't exactly the footballing masterclass you're suggesting.

Barrow came to Field Mill with no wins, like Mansfield - they had confidence and a pair of bollocks though.

He left JR with no option, Honestly 7-2 would have been a fair score, a total embarrassment to the club.

Cheltenham could have been 2 or 3 up at half time, I thought we were poor first half and Cheltenham looked dangerous. We allowed them too much space to pick a pass.

After they scored though, we upped the tempo and their passing went to shit. They also looked absolutely knackered after 50 minutes. We then proceeded to be on top for most of the second half.

Pope must terrify them as he also changed the game. Worrall and Burgess teriffic second half.

Cheltenham are probably the best team we have played and we've played mainly teams in the top half, which bodes well. Watch us stuff it up at Southend on Saturday.

It could and maybe should of been 4-1 then the floodgates may have opened. Strange game at half time at 3-2
you were hanging on.
