I notice you got a similar slating for your ‘style’ at Orient.

We've been playing quite well lately but not getting the results, mostly due to unfortunate luck which would be nice if that changed around tomorrow. I expect a lot of bookings as Northampton are one of the two teams with a worse disciplinary record then us.

Northampton looked horrific at our place with Charlie Goode having a meltdown we often saw here, they seem to have improved a hell of a lot since then though.

Think we will be edged out 2-1 or draw 1-1.

Charlie Goode is the best defender in this league. More blocks and clearances per game than anyone else and an average rating of 7.43. The average rating part seems a tad frivolous to me but whatever system they’ve got for ranking players puts him top.
EDIT: just had a look and the average rating is taken from Opta data, so must be a half decent gauge.

He’s an absolute rock (cue horrific mistake tomorrow), that could be down to playing in a 3 with two quality centre halves next to him.

Good thing we won Saturday as it will be a minor miracle if we get anything against Crewe, we struggle against sides who play the ball around well on the floor.

Sam Sargeant will keep his place in goal, but its only a matter of time before Lawrence Vigouroux starts, because Sargeants lack of commanding of his box and coming for crosses is going to cost us at some point.

Ouss Cisse has made a very positive impact on our team, he was just what we needed.

I'd expect us to be unchanged, Ross doesn't do his squad rotations well, if at all IMO.

8th visit to Crewe for me, first on a Tuesday night.

Remember the play-offs last season? They got away with about 3 red cars; flying elbows is a Newport specialty.

Big game for us tonight. I dont think Taylor has been happy with our last couple of performances so changes likely. Atangana is finally back but it sounds like Nicky Law is a doubt. Dickenson for Richardson is likely.
Will be tight but I like to think we can nick it.

'Should' beat Scunny tonight but Van Veen is back so I'll put a quick 50p on him to score...

Should be an easy win for cheltenham tonight. Best defence vs a team who've had 6 shots on target in the last 10 games.

Fucking hell. That's just over 1 shot on target every 2 games on average!

We are truly dreadful. Probably looks strange looking from outside in and trying to understand why the fans are wanting Bowyer out but Phil Parkinson was 10x more entertaining than the complete snooze fest we are being served up every week.

I fear a narrow defeat at Colchester tonight. They are on a long unbeaten run and seem to have our number at the moment.

Going for 1-0 and surely one of either Robinson or Norris are likely to score - they also have bloody Nouble who was crap for us on loan many years ago so surely one of them is likely to cause us grief!

Local game for me at the ever delightful Oldham.

The performance on Saturday was the best of the season (not a hard one to achieve!) and if we play like that again I’d like to think we can get something from the game. Would like to think GC would have some common sense and rest bishop - excellent though he was on Saturday - and try a new midfield combination in his absence.

Having won the home game 6-1 with the utterly bizarre situation of 2 Oldham players getting a red card in one movement - a red card and then another for a foul he waved play on for - it was actually very brave, but correct of the ref to make the decision - they’ll be looking for revenge.

Never seen us win at Oldham, would be nice to see is break the duck

I think this is a very important game after our best performance of the season on Saturday. Another win and some of the optimism might return, but a loss would really bring everyone back down to earth.

I admire your confidence in us, but this is the exact sort of game we tend to lose.

We head to FGR, one of the few clubs who might call us their bogey team... so there is a glimmer of hope we can get something out of this.
Head 2 Head
FGR wins [1] draws [3] Carlisle wins [3]

23 Dec 2017 Forest Green Rovers v Carlisle United L 0-1 League Two
27 Jan 2018 Carlisle United v Forest Green Rovers L 1-0 League Two
24 Nov 2018 Carlisle United v Forest Green Rovers W 1-2 League Two
16 Mar 2019 Forest Green Rovers v Carlisle United D 1-1 League Two
17 Sep 2019 Carlisle United v Forest Green Rovers D 0-0 League Two
30 Nov 2019 Forest Green Rovers v Carlisle United D 2-2 FA Cup
10 Dec 2019 Carlisle United v Forest Green Rovers L 1-0 FA Cup

In some ways perhaps a minor bogie side, FGR have yet to beat Carlisle at home but there has been some close shaves amongst those fixtures.
But nevertheless fool that I am I’m forecasting a 2-0 home win. :bg:

you did of course beat us at Brunton Park in the Conference way back in 2004. You were tinpot enough at the time that losing to you was a major embarrasment for a side just relegated from the league.

Also, our fifth game against you in less than 12 months... hello old friends.

Love how the fixture computer has Carlisle at FGR on a Tuesday night! They really need to do something about those kind of fixtures being midweek.

The reverse fixture was on a Tuesday too. As was our game at Morecambe.

I believe the saying is "those who live in glass houses should not throw stones". Mansfield cloggers have consistently been the most ill-disciplined team in the EFL. Once again I see that you are bottom of the Fairplay table, just like most of the previous seasons since 13/14.

The guys from Carlisle are great and I do enjoy drinking with them in their local pub.
And I always get a hug off the lady program seller ;)
So as you say 'Hello friend'. Lets have a good game tonight.

I think they just like to get these trips out the way. Our trip to Port Vale tonight is just up the road compared to going to Scunthorpe
