Thank God that's over. Walsall came for a 0-0 and our strike force is impotent without Bowman. Zzzzzzzzxx

Difference between Bradford and Mansfield today was a massive defensive mistake giving Rowe a free hit six yards out.We didn’t create enough, although Clarke nearly equalise last minute that went just wide, and Law nearly scored 2 minutes in but it hit the post.

Bradford didn’t look like a team on a great run of form, but they got the win.

We have a severe lack of quality upfront, Maris came off injured in midfield, Clarke got sent off last second of the game, and Lapslie is still out, gotta pray the red gets overturned.

Huge mistake by Clough and the board to not strengthen more in January, we are lacking two quality strikers in that squad, hence the poor attacking performance.

An ugly win - the ball spent more time off the top of the screen and in touch than anywhere else. Newport spent a lot of time falling over, and we retaliated with our own 'game management' seeing the clock tick down.

Certainly not a game to remember, but they all count. An interesting set of results tonight and it gets even tighter at the top.

What an outstanding win that is.

To keep a clean sheet considering all of our defensive injuries was great.

Cambridge outclassed us all night, they're are quite evidently a million times better than we are but tonight was just our night.

We've lost to two of the worst teams I've seen us play all season, having taken the lead in both games. Until the penalty, Colchester looked there for the taking, credit of course for reacting well to equalising but we should never have got ourselves into that situation.

Amazing what happens when you have two strikers instead of one, and those two do something with the ball rather than giving it away every second.

Shame it's still pretty shite and far too late in the game
Shite Hurst tactics costing us games, if only he’d done that here before and we’d have had some kind of warning?

We were bollocks tonight. After going a goal down, game just petered out and we grew more and more frustrated. Shit result and I’m going to and find a bottle of rum to drown my sorrows in as I can’t see us going up now.

Soft defeat against Salford, they’ve had one chance and scored, we’ve dominated most of the play but not done enough in the final third.

Frustrating, only positive the bottom three lost.

Thank f@#£ it’s over, that was painful to watch. Had to dig deep to grind 3 points out of Newport. Very happy with this result. Well done Tranmere.

Easy £30 bet on bradford, cheers lads

god were hopeless, thank god there’s 3 even worse teams below us.

People still use ‘big spending’ when on about Mansfield, yet our only strikers are Jamie Reid and Jordan Bowery, who to be fair has scored a few under Clough but we simply don’t have a single proper goalscorer who’s even got double digits before I don’t think. Embarrassing.

Where will the goals come from? Lapslie in midfield will get some when he’s back, but that’s it.

We were complete crap tonight, easily the worst we've played since the managerial duo came in. You pressed us well and we just didn't deal with it at all and became really sloppy on the ball. Mansfield looked a good side until the ball came into the final third where you never really looked like scoring.

Wins a win and we'll take it but we've got to be tonnes better against Bolton on Saturday.

Defensively we looked very solid again apart from one sucker punch on half time. The problem has been when we have had the ball. Without Worrall we are offering absolutely nothing, need him back more than anything.

Not sure what the answer is up top at all, not one of them is working at present including Rodney who's first touch was absolutely shocking tonight for a professional footballer. People can talk about Pope but he hasn't been any good either for a very long time.

Regards Salford, have now seen all the promotion chasing sides and this lot are by far the worst.

For the rest of this season i don’t mind it.

what would maynard and cook been on between them? £4/5k? neither wanted it and it didn’t work out.

Reid would be a good impact sub next season, bowery i’m not sure on, he tries hard, that said the final ball whether from open play or set pieces was woeful this evening

Southend won't go down. They're bloody hard to beat. A great result for us tonight and we've finally taken the chance to go top.

It's very unsettling.

We still should have brought in somebody, all we did was bring in Sarkic who’s not even played yet because he’s injured. At this rate we’ll be getting called up, I’ll bring us some tinnys.

That was a hard watch but we deserved the win and should've had a second goal to make the end of the game a bit easier.

We changed our approach and played the conditions more, rather than pissing around with it like we have done in recent weeks. Getting the ball forward quicker.

Grimsby I thought were terrible, only in the final 15mins did they really look like getting back into the game and with a bit more care might have done and undone our solid work with those few chances they had including hitting the post.

I'm sure there are plenty of reasons why Grimsby are struggling - But fuck me that pitch WILL NOT help them in the slightest, you cannot develop any consistent passages of play or read the bounce of the ball as well. Playing on something like that every week will no doubt just damage confidence even more within their team, I would say playing on that should be taken as small of factor of why they struggle - That was easily our worst spectacle of the season and the pitch was the reason why, but I'm happy with the way we performed on it.

Mansfield's red card at the end seemed incredibly soft. Connor Wood went down like he'd been shot despite minimal contact?

Salford were fairly pants that’s what’s more annoying, as were Cambridge at the weekend but we are not creating enough and getting sucker punched in games that are there for the taking.

Injuries are a mess again, Monty and Gibbo gone, not sure what the answer is. Should be Rodney putting us 1-0 and they break and score seconds later.

It feels very relegationy, playing fairly well but losing games we shouldn’t be, injuries mounting up etc

The club decided to just write this season off, leave us with enough to be safe, tonight shown that very well in our lack of final third quality.

Looked like nothing to me? We need it to get overturned, because along with Maris going off and Lapslie being injured Clough will be dusting off his boots at this rate.

You all should be happy, HG's been sticking to his committment not to post on here until we win again and I know how much you all hate his pessimism, just imagine what he'd be saying right now. As it is, I doubt if we'll hear from him until the summer.

He also predicted this Mansfield side would finish in the top seven :D
