Cheltenham (h) - games just keep coming thick ‘n fast!

Alexander said it was like A&E in the dressing room after the game on Saturday. Sarcevic and Crichlow came off injured. Pointon, Johnson and Tayo all carrying knocks. Pattison was ill. Tyreik Wright couldn’t play due to concussion protocol. The list goes on …

I’m hoping Patto is well enough to play. Wouldn’t be surprised to see someone like George Lapslie start, but Jamie Walker has probably done enough lately to get the nod.

GK: Sam Walker

CB: Aden Baldwin
CB: Paul Huntington
CB: Jack Shepherd

RWB: Brad Halliday
LWB: Tayo Adaramola

CM: Ritchie Smallwood ©️
CM: Alex Pattison

AM: Jamie Walker
AM: Bobby Pointon

ST: Micky Mellon

Cheltenham strike me as a well-drilled, battling side. I wouldn’t expect anything less from a Micky Flynn outfit. Obviously losing Sam Stubbs is a big loss, but they have some ex-City players in there who are somewhat capable at this level. George Miller loves playing at VP. Dieng is well thought of around these parts. Other players such as Kinsella and Bowman always seem to play well against us.

It won’t be easy tonight. However, if we start well and score early, I’m hopeful we’ll see out the game comfortably.

3-1 City (Mellon x2, Smallwood pen).

I'd say that's an accurate description of us. We're not easy to beat but as I said before, Stubbs will be a huge miss. Ibrahim Bakare will start in his place, he's a great character and a fan favourite but can be a bit erratic on the pitch.

Given where we are in the table I'd hope we'll come out and try to play some attacking football. Rather that than trying to grind out a draw. Still think you'll win either way though.

Could really do with a win tonight as we head into 3 nasty looking fixtures afterwards which will probably determine the outcome of our season. I reckon Obikwu will be back which gives us way more balance at the top end compared to the past 2 games.

The 4th time this season we’ve played a side almost immediately after changing managers as well, won 2, lost 1 so far.

We weren't great at the weekend and without disrespect, this is a game we really have to be targeting 3 points. We will likely have another couple of key players injured, so we'll have to see what team we put out.

It would be typical Vale to put in an absolute shitter though.
I just hope we turn up and the January signings show some promise. The Bromley performance was horrible. We went a goal behind through a defensive error, panicked, and lost all shape.

Yesterday evening, the club emailed to say that they would pay for the tickets of all away supporters at this match. So if we lose badly, the only cost is a share of the taxi fare down there plus a couple of pints.

You are mad mate - fair play for going. If I can finish work before 5 I’ll get over there but otherwise it’ll be a watch on the tele job. Not expecting us to leave with any points.
Might catch you there the. Lovely afternoon for it, we’re in Sudbury and it almost feels like spring if nothing else

It sounds like we could be without half a team. In all honesty, I would take a draw tonight. Like Filthy said, Cheltenham are well-drilled, and if we don't have the likes of Sarcevic, Pattinson, and Pointon, then we may struggle to create.

Trevor Kettle's son also reffing. Might stay home.

Tough game tonight against Crewe. They are doing really well and must fancy their chances of going up. If we play with the same attitude like we did at the weekend we have a chance. Having said that a draw will be a very good result and the likelihood is a narrow defeat

He’s reffed us. His dad was better, as if that was possible, sofa and stick sounding more appealing?

Not sure my conscience would allow it since I work over the road from our ground, I finish at 7 and I have to walk past it to get home.

He's worse than his dad? Great.

My hope is that you feel like you've done enough to be safe this season (which I think you have) and you don't play with too much desire.

In the reverse fixture, we had all the play but your defending was heroic and you seemed to have a knack of being able to block shots. I sense another frustrating night unless we score one or two early.

Just finished work unfortunately. Enjoy it and bring back the 3 points.

Am expecting some rotation from Moore for this one. Sounds like if someone on our forum (who is usually very accurate) is right we’ve dodged a bullet on any injury to Byers from the weekend but think he might be on the bench anyway. If it was my call I’d go

As others have said - we must win.

Nothing else is acceptable, I’m afraid.
