Cheltenham (h) - games just keep coming thick ‘n fast!
Alexander said it was like A&E in the dressing room after the game on Saturday. Sarcevic and Crichlow came off injured. Pointon, Johnson and Tayo all carrying knocks. Pattison was ill. Tyreik Wright couldn’t play due to concussion protocol. The list goes on …
I’m hoping Patto is well enough to play. Wouldn’t be surprised to see someone like George Lapslie start, but Jamie Walker has probably done enough lately to get the nod.
GK: Sam Walker
CB: Aden Baldwin
CB: Paul Huntington
CB: Jack Shepherd
RWB: Brad Halliday
LWB: Tayo Adaramola
CM: Ritchie Smallwood
CM: Alex Pattison
AM: Jamie Walker
AM: Bobby Pointon
ST: Micky Mellon
Cheltenham strike me as a well-drilled, battling side. I wouldn’t expect anything less from a Micky Flynn outfit. Obviously losing Sam Stubbs is a big loss, but they have some ex-City players in there who are somewhat capable at this level. George Miller loves playing at VP. Dieng is well thought of around these parts. Other players such as Kinsella and Bowman always seem to play well against us.
It won’t be easy tonight. However, if we start well and score early, I’m hopeful we’ll see out the game comfortably.
3-1 City (Mellon x2, Smallwood pen).
