Think you'll be without Cameron for this one, unusual to play against your parent club .
We need the win and on paper should have enough to get it but unless we score early and arguably a brace, it will get nervy.
There's not much love for Maynard which is a bit unfair but Meadow Lane can be a sour place when it's not going well and it can get to the players.

Had forgotten about Cameron not being able to play. We will probably go with MJ Williams and Sam Foley in a back three with Canavan assuming Theo Vassell is still out, which ironically has brought our best results under Whing so far.

Even the most optimistic and deluded Carlisle fans won’t be expected anything from this game. Surely.

I expect defeat, but I’m hoping we can at least put in some sort of performance and build on the gritty resilience we showed in our last match. Obviously we can’t match Walsall for quality but i hope we can at least match them for effort and not roll over for them.
You've a chance, Walsall are having a bit of a crisis of confidence and you're unbeaten in three.

Cheltenham are one of those teams for me that have a little bit about them that on their day, could win any league 2 match.
They've got spirit as well as shown against Walsall.
Really tough match this for us.
I'm guessing they wont have Sam Stubbs playing against his parent club so maybe a change to their back 4.
Would take a boring 1-0 win right now.

Artell seemed to say the stats suggest that Tranmere should have taken 15 points out of the last 18??? I think I heard this right.

New manager bounce and all that, they seemed to have played well v PV yesterday but can they do it on a cold Tuesday night in Grimsby?

Think we have 4 of the next 5 at home and if we are to threaten the play off spots we need a decent haul. Tranmere (H), Walsall (A), Notts ( H), Salford (H), Newport (H)
I'll have something of what he's on! You could certainly make an argument we should have got something at Notts and one or two of the drawn home games on another day could have gone in our favour, but that's about as good as it gets.

Think we've lost 10 away games on the trot and sooner or later that's got to change. While Grimsby were the better side in your win at PP, we were told through the assessor that it was a mistake not to give us a penalty for the foul on Regan Hendry in that one.

A couple of injury doubts and Wood's red card make our defensive options look threadbare, while things are never so bad that Omari Patrick should be turning out as wing-back. Think we're due a lucky break soon but not confident it will be in this game.

Our away form has been poor in the last 10 games. We have won 2, drawn 1, and lost 7. I don't expect anything to change on Tuesday. I expect to lose and will be very happy with a draw.
We weren't great at the weekend and without disrespect, this is a game we really have to be targeting 3 points. We will likely have another couple of key players injured, so we'll have to see what team we put out.

It would be typical Vale to put in an absolute shitter though.

This is a game I am not looking forward to in the slightest as we are in a very bad place on the pitch at the minute as I’m sure everyone is aware. Cook is scratching his head from game to game trying to find different ways to get this dysfunctional side that’s been thrown together mid season functioning and IMO the key to making that happen is getting the spine of our team right with real experience/quality down the centre.

That’s easier said than done at the moment with key players out, but I would try and get as close to that as possible on Tuesday, and therefore I’d go something like:

Boot
Sheckleford Palmer Naylor Sparkes
Mandeville Fleck
Duffy Banks Dobra
Madden

Grimes is done and needs to come out the team, his confidence is in tatters and therefore Naylor has to come back in whether he’s carrying a niggle or not. Fleck looked a class above when he came on for 15 mins or so vs Crewe, and the time is now to throw him in from the start otherwise what’s the point. Mandeville will provide the legs and grit next to him. Duffy has to start, and I would give Banks a go in the 10 as his creativity could be key. Madden has been absolutely woeful this season but, as I said, now is the time for experience and I would start him down the middle over the inexperienced and raw Pepple, who I would save for the last 30 to put himself about.

Our away record since Boxing Day has been criminal (P6 D1 L5), and therefore would absolutely snap your hands off if offered a point right now to stop the rot. I’d then try and give this team (or whatever team he picks) a bit of a consistent run over the next few games to try and build some confidence to get ourselves back up, running & competitive again.

I should be confident going into this Fleetwood game. We're plying good football, creating chances and scoring goals, l top of that our squad seems to be getting healthier and healthier. That being said I see this as a real banana peel. I think Fleetwood along with probably Colchester are better than there league position shows, both to me on there day are play off contender worthy. Just hope we go out positive from the off and don't start sitting back, as that nearly cost us at Chesterfield. With pretty.muxh everyone around us having very winnable games we need a win, but I'm going to go abit pessimistic and go for a draw 1-1.

+1 to pretty much all of that.

If Walsall think this will be an easy game, they are in for a shock.
If you look on our forum or on Twitter, you will see we are all shitting it - not a single person who thinks it is an easy game. Like I said previously, we haven't won away on a Tuesday night since 2021 - and we're Walsall...

Fair play to any Cheltenham fans travelling to Bradford tomorrow night (and I know of 3 going). Team with the best home record in the division against a team with something like the 5th worst away record.

I'll take a battling defeat - one of those where we don't disgrace ourselves but were probably never going to win.

Won't be an easy game for either team. We could be without a few players, too. Fancy a 1-1 draw.

Actually going to Colchester tomorrow night as well, and then have to be in Leeds somehow for 8am Wednesday. Joys of being stuck on 85/92 and Colchester being one I've not done (and Barrow ffs) so committed months back that i'd go.

Really not up for it at all, and can only see us getting fairly comfortably beat. No idea what team i'd play or even whoever is fit. Assume Donacien out injured given he appears to be made of cheese string like a fair few other of our signings so we are up against it defensively.

Unsure on Shecks availability either so might be well off the mark here but would perhaps go with;

Book

Mandeville
Naylor
Palmer
Sparkes

Fleck
Oldaker
Dobra
Duffy
Olakigbe

Madden

Even that on paper makes me want to sack off trying to complete the 92. 3-1 Colchester

You are mad mate - fair play for going. If I can finish work before 5 I’ll get over there but otherwise it’ll be a watch on the tele job. Not expecting us to leave with any points.

We'll only have two CBs available with Tim Dieng potentially filling in too if needed. Stubbs being unavailable is a blow, arguably been our player of the season.

We've been generally awful away from home as Si says, although last time at Newport we were superb. We've got some decent attacking players and I'd fancy us to score, but with Stubbs being out and considering our overall away record I'd be surprised if we got anything here. 3-1 Bradford.

Ouch, a bit threadbare. Still, I think it'll be a closer game than 3-1.

I'm worried about this game we've been crap recently and you seem to have improved since Hughes came in 1-1 and I hope you stay up

Not much to go on yet, he only made his first start on Saturday along with probably 3 or 4 sub appearances. He's looked tidy enough when he's been on though.

I’ve said before that the lack of atmosphere at Tuesday night games compared to a Saturday reflects somehow to the match meaning I'm never quite as confident going into them. We’ve had a run of low key night game 1-0’s and could definitely see a repeat tomorrow. Difficult to predict a team, we’re able to rotate thankfully but like everyone we have injuries in key areas especially after Salford tried kicking us off the pitch on Saturday.
