Serious problems now, another game lost that was completely avoidable against a fairly average Shrewsbury side.

Only positive is we somehow made it competitive and scored two goals. DJ injured now so yeah great. Best performing defender in recent weeks gone as well.

League Two bound.
Give over. You are mid table. Try been down where we all are.

Get the fuck in!!! 6 wins on the bounce and we continue to push the top 6!! Just wish Barnsley would lose.

Almost had a heart attack when the 4th official pulled up 7 minutes at the end there but we thankfully saw the game through. Even better that we won that without Pennington and Flanagan and had to play two CM’s at CB. Bloody love this team and club! I’m off for a beer… GET IN SALOP!!

Onto Exeter on Tuesday.

I’d snap your hand off to be in Cambridge’s position, never mind Vale’s!

Tbf there is often a team that hits a bad run and drops down into the fight, I’m getting a sense that Vale fans see that happening to them with their injuries etc Currently 9 points clear of the bottom 4 though, probably only need another 2 or 3 wins to be safe.

We have one half fit striker, three very good league one strikers crocked who seem to always be “2 weeks” away from a return and are nose diving at the moment.

Can’t see where 13 points come from. Even when we do bag a couple we have a crazy 15 minutes at the back. Today as per many recent performances we beat ourselves rather than lost to quality and that is never a good sign.

We won't go down as there are at least 5 or 6 teams worse than us, However, DC's team selections aren't helping especially with our defensive problems. Benning and Donelly should not start on Tuesday, but you just know that they will.

The bottom sides have strengthened. FGR probably won’t catch us and Accrington but the others could, where do you see the wins coming from? Today was there for the taking and when we do manage to find the net we forget how to defend bog standard set pieces.

I just don’t see where the next result comes from. Barnsley will do us, Exeter? Maybe a chance but after that Morecambe flying at home, Bolton away no chance…

Won today - played crap but kept a clean sheet. And what do you know. Sam winnall scores. Shame on your Exeter.
3 wins on the bounce. Table looking prettier now. Winning when you don’t play well is an admirable quality.

I agree. First half we ended up 2 nil up but didn’t deserve it at all. It’s nice to be clinical for a change. We’ve played a lot better than that and been drawing or down at half time … not 2 up. We were better second half. Traff was very good that first half… as was Santos. Declan John was superb after a poor game last week.

I think it is starting to look like four from the bottom eight...Oxford and above should be alright, I can't see five teams making up the gap, to put them in the relegation places...but this is football and pretty much anything is possible!

Had we won today I think some of our fans might have started to believe we could stay up, but inability to hang on to a lead struck again...if you can't close out a game against another team in the bottom four you probably deserve to go down.

What a game to watch, which has no place in league one.

For 30 mins of the second half we had Wednesday camped on the edge of their own penalty area and going 3-2 up looked a real possibility, only for Weds to then finish strongly and also threaten scoring a third.

I don't feel the subs helped us and disjointed our second half performance. We might be falling victim to having too much quality on the bench and thinking we have to utilise our options.

Bloody hell Barton - always have to be centre of attention! Trying to start fights with our players at full time.

Granted the sending off first half was very harsh, and no more than a yellow, however i have no idea how the ref didnt give a red 2nd half when last man brought down our striker.

Overall a good win. Not as comfortable as hoped however when 1-0 up at half time and Rovers down to ten men. Bristol Rovers atrocious at the back all game, should/ could have been leading by more. 2nd half Bristol Rovers made it more uncomfortable for us, but no real efforts on goal. However, just like that, thats 2 wins on the bounce and 4 clean sheets in a row.

Bristol Rovers need shot of Barton.

Also great to see Harry Anderson getting a very good ovation from the home fans when he came on.

An excellent win today rounding off a very good week for Fleetwood. The only problem we have now is playing at home but Posh next Tuesday is an opportunity to break a terrible run at home. Not sure whether Bolton's thrashing off them today will rebound on Fleetwood or we can capitalise and get the win

Wasn’t a 5 nil game. Pretty even overall… we just took our chances. Trafford made several good saves.

Absolutely ridiculous from a manager. You'd expect some form of off switch and hope that he's leant from previous. I'd be embarrassed if i was a Bristol Rovers fan.

Never change Joey!!

We’ve well and truly messed up this season. Play offs at best now. Unless either Plymouth or Wednesday have a drastic fall off like we did, then they’re up.

PPG wise, there’s 4 play off teams fighting it out for 3-6th. Surely we can’t go lower than 6th :ffs:

Lack of concentration gave away the two goals today and could have been more. Second half, we switched sides, literally! Could have been more for us, regular mistakes by Wednesday. Second half is what the beginning of the season was like.

We couldn’t beat an Accrington side playing kids at the back. We need four points from the next three. Hopefully our shit pitch hinders Barnsley and Exeter and helps us.

The biggest concern overall is from a tight ship who the hell is leaking the team hours before kick off?!?!

I'll also add Charlton away and Oxford at home to the list.

Just listened, threatening opponents after a game, another EFL ban coming his way. Needs to put his energy on setting a team to defend properly.

Wrong side started again, as we all said before the game. We got outmuscled on every ball that came into the box. The 3 goals were pathetic and we then had too much to do.

What's frustrating is that Shrewsbury are a very average side. They play like a Tony Pulis team....bang it in there and hope for knock downs. We were actually much the better team for 75% of the game but had a mad 10 minutes.

We won't go down. There's easily 6-8 teams worse than us but a lot of the good will from last season is quickly evaporating. Bristol Rovers fans did warn us about Clarke and his random team selections and poor signings.

The last time vale got relegated from this division they were 3rd in October and midtable at Christmas and basically didn't hit the bottom 4 till the last game of the season when all we had to do is score at Fleetwood and we would have stayed up but instead we drew nil nil and went down. The transfer window then was bad sold jak Alnwick to rangers, sold Anthony grant to somebody and loan signing Alex Jones who had around 7 goals by them decided go to Bradford for the 2nd half of the season instead. This transfer window has been nearly as bad sold Connor hall a good steady centre back decent in the air and replaced him with a young lad from forest and signed Taylor on loan from Oxford who is basically injured at the moment so no point signing an injured striker when you already had 3 strikers injured anyway.

The guy is an idiot who got lucky with some outstanding loans last season. Bristol Rovers are in a worse run than us!

To be honest when we beat Bristol rovers away around December time last season most of the Bristol rovers fans wanted Barton sacked. Neither vale or Bristol rovers will go down but both instead of finishing around 10th will probably end up around 18th now.
