I don't think I've actually seen a single comment from a Salford fan on any thread.
I'm usually wrong but unless I've blinked and missed one

Mostly United fans or locals who just fancy a game but have no historical tie to the club I guess, bar Barbs and the couple of dozen on "The Class of 92" series 1?!

On their forum there was two posts about our game after 24 hours.

Did you get any hassle from the locals.

“Salfordian” was posting briefly, but I think that was a troll.

Hold on, can you hear that lorry reversing and all it’s sirens going off?.

The league 1 forum must have been a bag of laughs.

Mansfield and Plymouth are the only bankers imo. Swindon look good to beat the Cobblers, and Exeter should beat Oldham, but I'm always a bit hesitant to back Swindon when they're at home, otoh I don't like to back Exeter when they're NOT at SJP.

Cambridge, Newport and Vale look good for a DC (aka not to lose) but obviously the odds on DCs will not be that great. For ex, a tenner on an acca of Stags and Plymouth to win, and the 3 DC sides above will only net you 70 quid.

I was thinking more of those delightful Mancs who turn up for a row.
A lot of the people who follow Man Utd seem to come from places like Barnet, Hastings or Cardiff...I'm not sure that even they are willing to travel that far on a non-match day for a scrap with whoever is playing against Salford.

Most footy fans I have met who are real Mancunians follow City, rather than a team who play in red...and to be fair, they are a reasonably decent bunch.

I just remember Hartlepool fans having a right old row last season at Salford with Manc fans turning up at Salford.

I thought it was a well known #fact that Salford fans got, or rather stole, their fans from FCUM? The story goes that once FC turned to shite, all their fans didn't bother anymore and started em...'supporting' the Classless instead. The classic glory hunter tactic.

I’ve just had 4 nights on the sick so was gonna give tonight a swerve to save money, then driving home from the Cinema at 5PM I see Blundell Park approaching on my right, slowly I feel my car slowing down as my foots sliding on the brake and before you know it I’ve 2 tickets in my hand.
Football don’t you just love it! :bg1:

Pope dropped to the bench and Richie Bennett starts in place of him. Some will find it controversial but it’s a brave and in my opinion correct decision.

I’m unsure but Bennett scored in his cameo and had another good chance so I can understand it.

Plus of course we last hit form when a fresh Pope was coming off the bench in the last two to bully a tired Cobblers and Crewe defence.

All this bollocks about Bolton’s youngsters - we’ve got a 15 year old on the bench tonight!

The way things have panned out so far, the best we can hope for is to score one goal tops tonight. At this point there is no evidence we will go on a scoring spree any time soon. The defence however has been good, but not tested like we have been on a number of occasions last season. So until such times, who knows. A draw would be a very good result. Another very cautious approach from us I'd say.

We haven't gone behind in any of our four games to date. So if we do, that will also be interesting to see how we cope. Last season we were quite capable of pegging back as deficit.

Exactly my thinking. Bennett has some form after scoring on Saturday (and our first from open play). If it doesn’t work there is always the option to bring him on. For my money this is good management from Askey and a decision he would not have taken in his first couple of months.

It’s one area we have improved that we can rotate with EFL capable strikers in Bennett, Pope and Cullen, hopefully keeping each one on their toes!

3 changes for us, Collins, Mondal and Morton come in for McCoulsky, Stevens and Dawson. Collins playing as a false 9 apparently.

The stewards are making the Colchester fans all sit in the front 6 or 7 rows for some reason. :dk:

Could and possibly should be 2 or 3 up already. It's like deja Vue from last season already.

Complete lack of communication at the back there. The one real negative this season is just how easily we switch off at the worst possible time.

Jeeeez this really looks like it could be a carbon copy of last season. Literally should be 3 up, Crawley barely touched the ball and now they lead. So frustrating.

1-1 thank god for that. Daniel Powell is tearing Crawley apart they can't deal with him.
