Now the Republican donors, who largely don't like Trump, have to make their choice between Cruz and Rubio. If they can agree and all get behind a single candidate then that candidate will win the nomination.

Can Bernie or do this?! A very narrow loss it seems.

It seems it isn't just those in the UK whoare sick and tired of this self serving, elitist politics we seem to have the world over.

"We do NOT represent the interests of the billionaire super classes, Wall Street or Corporate America".

Fantastic speech. Much like Corbyn, he speaks with raw passion and straight from the heart.

There is something slightly creepy and distinctly untrustworthy about Hilary Clinton. And I say that taking into account she's a politician.

I suspect Bernie would have created about as much change as Obama did.

I disagree. Obama ran on a left (comparatively) platform and then moved to the middle. Sanders entire life has been dedicated to the positions he argues for now, he is 74, what has he got to lose by actually trying to force reform through?

If Trump doesn't get the nomination he will stand as an independent which will be great for the democrats.

I think Obama has changed more than he has actually got credit for, especially in his second term. The big difference between Obama and Sanders is that Sanders has more experience on how to get things done in the senate which could be the difference. Still, I can't see far beyond a second President Clinton.

I think Rubio will get the Republican nomination. I think he has more appeal to the big name donors and that they will choose to back him over Cruz.

If you mean her allegedly sending official work emails via the family email server and the deletion of 32,000 emails, it already has hasn't it?

Isn't the investigation into that ongoing, in trying to ascertain the content and level of confidentiality / importance of said emails? With stories such as THIS coming out every couple weeks. So it's an issue that keeps coming back around and around to bite her.

He will have to battle the GOP in both houses, so the chances of him getting anything done are slim unless that changes.

Sanders will struggle to get things through congress like Obama, as it stands. Obama completely failed to build on his movement in "08 which translated into Congress becoming even more difficult for him to pass legislation through. Fast forward 8 years and the picture has changed, I think. Economic inequality is growing, wall street is still fucking people over, and a lot of people are seriously pissed off on the left and right. Sanders has a mass movement, bigger than Obamas and has really nailed the fuck establishment message. If he wins, he has a good chance of building on this and turning congress into something he can work with. Can't remember the figures but a lot of the seats in both chambers are up for grabs this year.

He withdrew last night.
Amusingly this time last year the Clinton campaign saw him as her biggest threat. He is a good guy so wish him the best but shows how far Sanders has come.

Is it just me or does Cruz resemble Joseph McCarthy of the communist witch hunts of the Fifties?

Obama hasn't got things done because he hasn't wanted to. He's a corporate Democrat just like Hillary is. The "change" stuff is just good marketing.

Haha fair enough then! Was genuinely surprised to learn there was a 3rd candidate (well...till last night anyway)!

But with gerrymandering of districts, getting rid of incumbents will be difficult, and he'll be working with a majority democrats who are to the right of him.

If there is a big victory for Sanders wouldn't the Democrats who don't necessarily agree with him want some of the reflected glory? Could be a big plus for him in dealing with an uncooperative congress at least in the short term.

Indeed, and thats why there is something untrustworthy about him. Mind you he is a Republican and none of them are to be trusted, ever!

Difficult not impossible.
Btw the exact figures are 435 of the House of Reps (so all of them) and 34 from the Senate.

Delegate count thus far:
Cruz- 8
Trump- 7
Rubio- 7
Carson- 3
Paul- 1 (He has dropped out now)
Bush- 1

Clinton- 26
Sanders- 21

http://edition.cnn.com/election/primaries/states/ia/Rep

*Actually this is a little misleading for the Dems. It's taking into account the pledged super delegates but only for the state of Iowa. In total, across all states, Clinton has 362 pledged to her and Sanders 8 so she is some way ahead as it stands.

Christ. That's like something a Tea Party nutter would say. Was that Madeleine Albright? It looked like her.

Sanders on for the win in New Hampshire, it seems. But it's demographically good territory for him, so he'll have to win well to keep campaign momentum ging.
