I disagree. Obama ran on a left (comparatively) platform and then moved to the middle. Sanders entire life has been dedicated to the positions he argues for now, he is 74, what has he got to lose by actually trying to force reform through?

If Trump doesn't get the nomination he will stand as an independent which will be great for the democrats.

I think Obama has changed more than he has actually got credit for, especially in his second term. The big difference between Obama and Sanders is that Sanders has more experience on how to get things done in the senate which could be the difference. Still, I can't see far beyond a second President Clinton.

I think Rubio will get the Republican nomination. I think he has more appeal to the big name donors and that they will choose to back him over Cruz.

Isn't the investigation into that ongoing, in trying to ascertain the content and level of confidentiality / importance of said emails? With stories such as THIS coming out every couple weeks. So it's an issue that keeps coming back around and around to bite her.

He will have to battle the GOP in both houses, so the chances of him getting anything done are slim unless that changes.

Sanders will struggle to get things through congress like Obama, as it stands. Obama completely failed to build on his movement in "08 which translated into Congress becoming even more difficult for him to pass legislation through. Fast forward 8 years and the picture has changed, I think. Economic inequality is growing, wall street is still fucking people over, and a lot of people are seriously pissed off on the left and right. Sanders has a mass movement, bigger than Obamas and has really nailed the fuck establishment message. If he wins, he has a good chance of building on this and turning congress into something he can work with. Can't remember the figures but a lot of the seats in both chambers are up for grabs this year.

If there is a big victory for Sanders wouldn't the Democrats who don't necessarily agree with him want some of the reflected glory? Could be a big plus for him in dealing with an uncooperative congress at least in the short term.

*Actually this is a little misleading for the Dems. It's taking into account the pledged super delegates but only for the state of Iowa. In total, across all states, Clinton has 362 pledged to her and Sanders 8 so she is some way ahead as it stands.
