No hard feelings towards Vale. To be fair we played a very on the beach (no pun intended) Grimsby today.

Hopefully you guys can do it next week and it becomes academic anyway. Would be woeful to lose Notts for Salford potentially!

It was a weird one because as lacklustre as we were I never felt worried we’d lose it. They were absolutely terrible, the number 7 as mentioned was laughably bad and Harry Smith was equally as poor, clean through and literally pea rolled it to Brown.

It was a fine strike mind and once that went in they parked the bus and we never really fancied it, I expected an onslaught of balls into the box etc but never really bothered just spent the past twenty minutes knocking it about just inside the Macc half then once losing position they would lump it clear and we’d start again.

Intrigued by what Askey was referring too about certain players attitudes at the club? Assuming he stays we might see a fair few go including a couple under contract I reckon.

Yep, they looked like a pub team, which doesn't put us in a great light. I'd genuinely keep two or three and cancel the contracts of most. We need to start again because not scoring against that Macclesfield team in both games is nothing short of a scandal. Great goal mind.

We haven’t scored against most sides and that massively needs addressing! Unless we get three against Bury (unlikely) it’s our worst goal scoring season of all time.

What on worth was that from Monty an all? Guys an enigma. Can literally be class one week and diabolical the next.

Extremely poor performance, was it the 13th home defeat ?
Hard not to go completely overboard but the game confirmed that despite our good run we are actually a very poor side.
Massive summer ahead both off and on the pitch.
Half of our team are nowhere near good enough and there has to be an alternative to the so called Popeball.
After scoring two winning goals from the bench he had to be selected I guess but sadly we've reverted to type.

If ( as looks likely ) Macc do stay up Campbell has to be given huge credit, I know he is the butt of many a joke but to save Macc from the drop is a cracking achievement.

Basically yesterday one poor side who wanted it a bit more beat another poor side who showed exactly why we ourselves have been at the bottom end for lengthy periods.
No need to apologise to anyone at all, we are hardly Lincoln, that performance summed us up to a tee.

Likely defeat at Bury will mean 1 point from the last 5 games.
Thank God another sorry season is almost over

Agree with you Darren on Pope. Going into next year I do think he has a role still to play but that is for 20-25 minutes off the bench. He cannot be the focal point of our attack any more. He led the line ok at Notts (albeit we finished up scoreless) but apart from that I can't even remember the last game he started that we did well in.

Appears on OVF some suggestions as to the nature of the unprofessional behaviour from some of our squad. I don't know if it's true or not but if it is then they need to be gone especially as some of the players indicated the fans have been very supportive of previously. Personally if I was Askey I'd name and shame them especially if it is true one of them has failed a drugs test.

I’d you read between the lines you can have a good idea who the three are...

All that’s been posted is that three are apparently involved. One is expected, one isn’t our player (loan) and one is a youngster.

Rumours suggest recreational drugs and seem widespread but seems to link up with Askeys comments Friday.

It’s one of them isn’t it. Gary Roberts for example, unbelievable talent and he wasted it and got the boot by Adams. Just get these players that haven’t got the head for it.

Allegedly, my lawyer told me to put that disclaimer in :bl:
The players concerned have surnames of

M
G
H

What i do find peculiar is that i thought drug tests were randomly / routinely done.
Now i'm no Sherlock Holmes but the one with the surname M , would be top of my list.
I'm afraid a general comment from Askey could be interpreted so many ways with rumours and lies. If as alleged it is drugs related i find it pretty staggering.

Certainly nothing performance enhancing anyway !!!

We have two H on loan, neither seen recently.

My wife when discussing suggested wont Vale get in trouble for it... I did mention the fact that results clearly show what if anything taken was certainly not performance boosting! If they were they should ask for a refund!

Askey picked a team to lose the game. If we start Pope, we will not score. Two holding midfielders who were told not to shoot and simply pass sideways, taking off Worrall and Monty even though they are potential match winners.

Askey must be on the powder with the rest of the lads.

Quite bizarre.
As i put we are a poor team, failed to beat Notts, Morecambe, Cheltenham, Macc at home.
Dreadful home record and on the beach.
Are Yeovil asking the EFL to investigate Grimsby as well ?

The fact is Vale are crap and were perfect opposition for anybody, proper on the beach performance.

How do play-off contenders feel about Lincoln losing to Newport ?
I like Notts but that is ludicrous.
The EFL response will be along the lines of, well Port Vale have the worst home record in the division, also the worst goals scored in the division, it was always possible !!!

The example clip he put on reporting to show us not tracking back was actually offside lol

We haven't tracked back for 75% of the season hence our league position !!!

Another one was the lack of closing down for the goal... (although Clarke I think it is throws himself at it)...

Had a chuckle at that one, Grimsby, Stevenage and Exeter all scored because we didnt close down from range! Exeter's fellow even did a couple of keep me ups before and we didnt get close!
