Good to see Taylor return to the starting lineup. Will give Swindon a lot to handle.

Just hope now Askey remembers it is allowed for him to use his subs and all is good.

Oh dear. That’s our CB and LB off injured and already 1 down. Could be a long old afternoon for us!

The half time whistle came at just the right time there. Swindon were starting to build up a period of pressure and looking very dangerous targeting our full backs.

Apart from that played really well. Should have had a second if Pope had done better when through on goal.

What a save by Scott Brown at the end of the half as well.

Lost 2 of our back 4 within first 15 minutes. Vale score a great goal. Slowly we find our stride and controlling things without producing much until a fantastic move sees the Vale keeper make a great save.

Should be a good 2nd half

Great performance and should of been 3-0 up with Pope denied 1 on 1 and Burgess having a chance blocked from six yards.

High pressed them which is when we are at our best and now targeting a weakness of Grant at the back now he’s moved to CB.

Swindon has a late chance but would of been harsh on us.

Big 45 now. Swindon look good on the ball and dangerous but frail at the back.

Forget the result - we’ve been decimated injury wise. Deserved win for Vale although we played some good stuff but created few chances.

We rely on our 2 CBs being able to play the ball out of defence - both now injured and we’re down to the head it, kick it variety.

Incredible effort today to limit Swindon to virtually nothing and two great finishes to win it. Taylor must be signed at all costs!

Battle hardened and a real shame we couldn’t see Mansfield out or we’d be in a great position!

Another top side beaten... if we can just start beating the bottom sides we’d be flying!

Delighted. We never ever beat Swindon!

That was a really good game to watch. Seemed like we learnt from our mistakes at Mansfield which is a huge tick in the box.

Two great goals scored by us and a clean sheet. Can’t ask any more than that. Got some of the strugglers coming up soon and we all know what that means for Vale but even so thoroughly enjoyed that.

Good luck Swindon not that you’ll need it. Losing two of your defenders hurt you today.

We’ve now got more points than we had in the second week of March which is pleasing. Bottom three up next so only ourselves to blame if we don’t push on from this now.

Monty was superb filling in again at left back today, thought Amoo did ok but should of put a third on a plate for Cullen and Popey battled well.

Burgess is a hugely unsung player, was set to go on loan before breaking in the team and has been a real workhorse covering Manny and a classy finish.

The number 10 for Swindon was an excellent player got to say I felt chuffed when he was subbed! Doyle was marked out of it today but Wollery looked decent too. Clearly a top side and will go up no doubt. We’ve shown again we can be a top side at this level but need to find the key to unlock those poorer sides that park the bus.

Thought the ref had a good game today. Maybe because the game was fairly ‘honestly’ played.

Shit happens!

Great game.
Swindon have some really good players, and grant never gave the ball away.
Really impressive win for us.
We need to beat Macc on weds, if we do, I think we could sneak the top 7

Have they been paid this month? Not sure what their pay day is but hopefully goes ahead whilst we are playing well!

Sounds like the best team won today. We had lots of possession but couldn’t create too many clear cut chances and Vale scored 2 good goals.

Bad day at the office with 3 injuries which could kill us longer term.

Some honest feedback by the Vale fans on here, no rubbing any noses in it, giving credit where due, fair play and good luck to you guys.

Great result and performance to match, thoroughly enjoyed the game. We defended well when we had to whilst also looking threatening when going forward. Swindon looked good in possession without really creating much.

We could easily be in the play offs by now but I think inconsistency and throwing away leads may cost us.

Good luck to Swindon, some very talented players in your squad.

No reason to rub noses in it (although chuffed to beat you as we never seem to!) but was similar to the Cheltenham game in a good battle, honest one and two sides trying to play the game.

Swindon were far from one of these low talented sides that try and kill the game and spoil it and we know we’ve had to put in a hell of an effort to get a win today. One of the better sides and had more about them than any other side we’ve faced.

Apparently the lad injured early on in the collision with Legge has broke his leg. Looked bad when they take you out the home end to the ambulance but hopefully a swift recovery.

Bad ankle injury apparently. Baudry, the CB, is out for 2-3 weeks, Anderson who has just come back after 6 weeks out, has done a quad.

Only plus is Isgrove looks like he’s back to his best after getting 20 minutes or so today.

Stifled the threat of Doyle thanks to our defensive pair of Legge and Smith who won everything on the ground and in the air.

Thought overall we played pretty well and were fairly comfortable throughout most of the game.

Hope the lad that went off in the first half is okay. Looked in a lot of pain and it pissed me off that a fair few in the Vale end we’re booing him when it looked like he had broken his ankle albeit in a fair challenge.

Was nice to finally come up against a league two side that didn’t employ the usual tactics of constantly going down “injured”, stealing 10+ yards on every free kick/throw in and sumo wrestling Pope every time the ball is in the air.

Anybody know if gibbons is suspended for the next 2 games as he got booked today and I was told the other week he was on 9 bookings for the season?

I thought it was a yellow in today’s rules. Leggey wins the ball clear as day and is full blooded and no intent but it’s that trailing leg that’s a yellow these days. In the days of Vinnie Jones and Roy Keane etc it would be perfect tackling.

The “head injury” as we were about to make in 3-0 was Caddis using experience rather than the referee as he has to stop the game although annoying had it been critical to the outcome I’d have been more angry!

That tackle by Grant to stop Burgess deserves some praise too, had to make it and clean as a whistle! Miss Granty. Would be good if Manny is fit for the reverse fixture to see them two going up against each other!

I'd consider resting him then and playing atkinson at right back as I think he was a regular playing there for a good Mansfield side last season.
