Protesting somewhat too much there - why would an Alfreton fan spend their evening listening to Radio Lincs...top 6 team gets a draw at a bottom 6 team is hardly a point gained. Its the kind of result Town would have after beating someone 7 nil...You clearly didn't listen to the match, it's a point gained. That Boreham Wood side won't go down.
I don't care about Grimsby, I care about Lincoln, and where we finish on April 30th. Nothing else matters.
You considered that it was a curse for Wrexham to continue the surge...Don't give up your day job to be a pundit mate!
Unexpected result that last night, I expected Lincoln to win pretty comfortably. Barring Halifax, Boreham Wood are the worst team I've seen this season and we should really have put 6 or 7 past them when we won 3-1 there a while back
That would explain it then. I don't study the starting line-ups of every team for every game. They needed to do something!Yet seven of those who started v Grimsby didn't play...
Generally speaking, Boreham Wood seem one of those sides that are just horrendously wasteful most games. A slightly better version of Hyde.
Weirdly, I'd like Lincoln to keep this form up. It adds to the excitement having a bit of rivalry up there and right now things are shaping up nicely for the match on December 28th. Obviously, I don't want them above us though, so a draw this week will do.
That'll be me when my winnings (£1100 if Lincoln make top 5) come in at the end of the season. Bit of extra cash for me holiday, lovely.
I'd agree with that assessment of Boreham Wood. They certainly had enough chances against us on Saturday to be out of sight by half time. I thought it strange that their manager didn't deploy any of his subs until the 86th minute last night.
He means Chris - I can guarantee that there is no Lincoln poster on this forum that actually expects us to finish as high as we are now. We'll toss it up at some point. Are Lincoln fans on here smug? As far as I am aware we are usually quite level headed and an honest bunch.
If you mean Chris FGR though, I do understand!
Well, wanting Lincoln to do well lasted all of a day and a half. Sorry Lincoln fans, but for the levels of smug on this forum I'm retracting any previous good will I displayed earlier on in the week.
I would say what is pathetic here is you basing you opinion of Grimsby fans on things quoted on The Fishy.Pathetic. And I doubt there will be a more smug set of fans anywhere in the country if "Operation Promotion" actually comes off, given the amount of your "amazing" fans already claiming the title in August.
The fact that you're using Rhead as an example to prove superior knowledge goes some way to prove that you don't actually have any. I think had you asked 90% of the members on here about Lincoln's signings they would have said that Rhead and Hearn were impressive coups and that a lot of their potential success would rely on keeping Hearn and fit and in the team. As Crazy Imp alluded to further up, the extent of Rhead's value to the side is the real surprise.Pathetic. Base your opinion on them on what you think of them and their fans, not on my superior knowledge and betting prowess. I said Lincoln would do well looking at their signings, lots of experienced, hardened Conference players, who know what it takes to do well in this league. Matt Rhead is a prime example, in league 2 he found it tougher as he's not technically the best but down here knows how to bully defenders and be in the right place at the right time to take advantage of the space created by the slack defending/marking that you often get at this level.
If I'd bet on Grimsby would you want them to fail as well, to stop me being "smug"? And I doubt there will be a more smug set of fans anywhere in the country if "Operation Promotion" actually comes off, given the amount of your "amazing" fans already claiming the title in August.
I agree with this, the Lincoln fans on here all seem like a good bunch with feet firmly on the ground.Totally agree I think most/all of us are amazed at how well we're doing this season, no smugness at all.
It's been great this season having a squad of players who want to play for us and appear to have a never say die attitude, epitomized best by Bradley Wood, my player of the season so far.

My comment was quite clearly tongue in cheek. Making Chris FGR the main focus of your response is as predictably self centred as one could expect. Betting prowess? It's impressive how much you continue to outdo yourself in making yourself sound ridiculous.

hi mate, you are correct, I am not him.Not sure GTFCFish is GTFC1979.....profile says he's 31, I'm assuming the latter's username is his birth year?
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, your use of emoticons is relatively sparing for a start. I enjoy the contributions from the Grimsby contingent in the main on here, so to channel my inner DSL, welcome aboard.hi mate, you are correct, I am not him.
I've been reading this forum for a good few months now and decided to register and post as the non league section seems much busier than any other forums around.
Although to be fair i could easily have lied about my age on my profile, but i havn't lol.
Anyway with your guys doing so well this season hope to see 1000+ at Blundell Park in December, will be nice to see a packed away end instead of the usual 50 - 100 that most bring.
Good luck for the rest of the season (not too much though)!
I've been reading this forum for a good few months now since quitting in a hissy fit after constantly posting the worst banter known to man and posting pictures of naked men.
i could easily have lied about my age on my profile, and I have lol.
We usually seem to struggle against you at home, been a good few years since i remember us beating you here so my head says a draw.I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, your use of emoticons is relatively sparing for a start. Yeah should be good, you'll beat us though, last season was a flash in the pan no doubt. As long as we're still in with a shout til the end, this season can be considered successful.
Were you also being tongue in cheek a while back when you said "you wouldn't be calling me a twat if you knew what I did for a living", or something to that effect? And you think me being "smug" about my potential winnings isn't being tongue in cheek? I do realise when the season ends, believe it or not.
