The thing with us, is that thankfully we seem to have avoided injuries in attacking areas for the most part with the majority of our flair players being fit so we can definitely still hurt teams, it’s just the constant chopping and changing to our defence that worries me!!

Bench looking fairly scarce mind
Bench very scarce.

I’d have Naylor in CM tomorrow personally. Grimes and Araujo at CB. Horton at LB.

We need a huge performance.

Been a surprisingly entertaining game to watch between Gillingham and Cheltenham. Had an absolute goalkeeping howler and some decent goals as well.

Good point tonight, would have taken that before kick-off.

Nine games unbeaten in all competitions now, including seven clean sheets. Six clean sheets in a row too.

Wouldn’t be against it but I think midfield has worked very well in recent games with Banks & Mandeville in there so wouldn’t be too keen on breaking that up yet, but Naylor’s Naylor so it wouldn’t exactly be a bad thing.

Well we didn't deserve any more than a point. You can see why Colchester don't ever concede any goals but it would have been nice if we'd managed to create a bit more.

Very happy with the point in the end. Especially as we nearly gifted Gills a winner near the end.
Yep, a very good point as I thought we were pretty poor on the whole - two good goals though. Illness in the squad according to Flynn which explains the somewhat lethargic performance.

Very frustrating with such a big home crowd in tonight. But credit Colchester, can see why they don't conceded many, very organised team that will take points of plenty of teams this season. Game probably had 0-0 written all over it before a ball was kicked to be fair. Positives are that were now 12 league games unbeaten, just far too many draws at the moment, a couple of tricky away days to negotiate before the end of this year then it looks like a kinder January to follow.

Also as a side note, not sure what your all moaning at, I enjoyed the away end today, took a bit of time to get out of, but from where I was stood it was a good view and and good atmosphere in there, didn't bother going to the refreshments at half time either as I could imagine that would be chaos.

I fear the managers lack of attacking intent is going to cost us a real chance to finish in the top 3. Just always seems to set up not to lose games rather than take the game to teams and try to win. 5-7-0 is all well and good, but feel we've left a lot of points on the board that might come back to bite us later in the season.

2 tricky away games to end the year now, would be delighted with 3 from them but will probably end up with 2.

If he's ot going to attack a team 18th in the league, he's not going to attack anyone.

It's great that we're up there again, but my God, it's so boring.

People will probably focus on Crewe not winning that but that's a cracking point for Colchester. Going under the radar, but they're in decent form at the moment.

Two tough teams to play against in front of a bumper home crowd, kicking myself that I didn't stick a tenner on 0-0.

It’ll be great to beat Holloway but I am a bit worried about this weekend. We look much better as a collective with Obikwu and he’s highly likely to be out.

GM should surely start ahead of Thompson who was dire on Saturday and we look so much better every time he’s on the pitch. Quite how Swindon let him go I don’t know.

It’ll be 7 wins and a draw in 8 away games if we do win, which will be absolutely ridiculous form.

Swindon were dreadful at Valley Parade last weekend. We weren't much better but did enough to beat them.

Swindon only managed two touches in our penalty area all game.

They look far worse than Carlisle and Morecambe at the bottom of the tree

I think Col u will climb the league to some degree , I thought they looked good against us especially that Tovide & the other big 1 up top . They have just drawn so many games .

They played some horrendous tactics against us. Up there with vintage Stevenage. However, once they went a goal down they stated to play and actually looked quite good! As you say Tovide looks like he could play higher....if he cut out being an absolute baby he can seriously go places. Pace, power, ability and good movement.

Can't make it today. I'm in bed with some sort of flu type thing. Hopefully we can put on a performance after a few weeks of flat performances.

They're as good an opposition team as I've seen this season. The Cowleys are starting to do their thing and I think they're on the up. They've got the kind of tricks you'd expect from a Cowley team - lots of shirt-pulling and shoving at corners etc but have got some good players. I think they'll finish in the top half

Our troubles continue to grow. We've had to recall two youth players from loans at non-league sides for today's game - one of whom didn't even make the match day squad for South Shields last week.

Doesn't bode well for today. Or next week.

Another nail smashed into our relegation coffin.

It’s all well and good being able to strengthen in January. But after today’s defeat, 3 of our next 4 games are against teams just above us.

If we fail to win the Morecambe, Accrington, Tranmere games we might as well not bother in January and just accept the relegation.

Looks like we’ve gone 4 at the back. Moore will be having palpitations picking that team and being so risky!

Full backs look a bit dicey as more wingbacks and we look a bit light on the bench with no Byers still or Kyle John although ok options going forward with Tolaj and Curtis.

Paton and Stockley if a proper front 2 should in theory work well but have to see in practice.

What a dire looking team we’ve selected, even by our low standards. Injuries galore.

6-0 home win.

We won’t score 3 let alone 6. If we go 1-0 up then we will drop off and try and see it out! Moore as good as he has done is literally Gareth Southgate.

We barely manage to scrape 6 in a month never mind a game. We never batter anyone it’s just not the way we do things. Fully expect us to go full Dazball if we get in front and just try to defend the game out.

As for us looks like a change to 4-2-3-1. Has been needed at home to stop worrying about the opposition so much.

Poor finishing yet again, should have been 7 up before they scored plus 2 off the post, if we could sort our finishing out we would have a far better goal difference

Maynard has committed many crimes as manager but Sam Austin’s repeated inclusion really is the smoking gun. What have we done to anger the football gods enough to subject me to watching that terrible footballer every week?

We will probably get battered 3-0 now he’s done what the fans have asked and been more attack minded!

Don’t worry, we’ll score the other 3 for you.
