What's going on with you lot then, Colchester fans? When I look at your squad and couple it with the Cowleys being in charge I'd have expected you to kick on a bit but you're in that 16th to 22nd void that both us and you seem to always occupy in this division. There's a lot of experience in that squad, is it just a case of things not really clicking or are you where you deserve to be?

Positions wise, you look at this and think home win but this is far from that. We need to start picking up points at home but we all know what a Cowley team is about, they aren't gonna come here and let us have it our own way.

While we are not involved in this one until a week on Monday have to say I like the look of that Wimbledon v Walsall game. The former might be alongside Doncaster as the best team I’ve seen us play this season so a good test of Walsalls credentials. Fleetwood should be a tough challenge for MK too you’d think.

Colchester were dreadful yesterday, however, we were just as poor.

Doncaster apart, I've not seen a decent team in this league so far live, and I definitely include us in that.

Missed our game with you as I was away on holiday so cannot comment on your side, however, you are doing far better than I anticipated so far.

Their squad is absolutely shite. They're exactly where I expected them to be.

We've had a tough run of fixtures and key players missing but, no excuses, we need a win against Newport.

Hats off to Accrington, hell of a turn around in form. They looked awful against us earlier in the season, no class at all and I thought they'd end up comfortably bottom two.

Tough run indeed but we have to be winning our next 3 home games, 7 points minimum required IMO and if McGoldrick and Jatta are finally both available again at the same time then its a realistic points target.

I know Jones and Edwards are long term and expected circa January but when are Robertson and Grant likely to be available? Any clues fellow pies?

I'm not saying their world beaters and admittedly I don't know much about their defenders but the likes of Jack Payne, Teddy Bishop, Harry Anderson, Anthony Scully, Owura Edwards and Lyle Taylor under the Cowleys are better than 21st in L2.

Writing that out though, it does read like a list of players that were good a few years ago and perhaps not now. Throw the likes of Woodyard and Hopper in and it does maybe feel like the Cowleys are getting the band back together once again. Seems like their book of contacts isn't too big.

Freezing forecast for the week ahead. Chance of postponements? Hope so, it'd be the first weekend in months we wouldn't drop points.

Our game won’t be off, we have these amazing frost covers :D we‘ve never had a match called off for weather at new ground other than when entire town was flooded last year

I'd dearly love to win against Accrington on Tuesday. Last season's 2-4 loss still hurts especially as I have to book holiday for weeknight matches.

That was probably our best home performance of the season against your lot , actually probably the only good performance . The rest have been pretty bad even the wins against Bromley & Cheltenham were not great and we were somewhat lucky in both to win I thought .

are the Cowleys methods still somewhat anti-football these days ?

Going to be a difficult one for us. Walsall will have had a two week break whilst we've had a long trip up to Barrow and we're at home to Accrington tomorrow night. At least we will have our player's back from international duty .
