Donny at home (providing the game is on, temperatures up here aren't forecast to get above freezing often or for long this week) will give us a real indication of how much improvement we're making.

Going to be a difficult one for us. Walsall will have had a two week break whilst we've had a long trip up to Barrow and we're at home to Accrington tomorrow night. At least we will have our player's back from international duty .
We typically over the years start slow after having a week off, so it may be a case of you being "sharper" the first half and us then being fresher in the second. Going to be an excellent game either way!

When we had an international weekend called off last month, we were at sixes and sevens first half away at Grimsby but thankfully went in nil nil at half time, and then came out and turned it on in the second.

Accrington at home. Don't think I've ever enjoyed a match against them.

I'm not saying their world beaters and admittedly I don't know much about their defenders but the likes of Jack Payne, Teddy Bishop, Harry Anderson, Anthony Scully, Owura Edwards and Lyle Taylor under the Cowleys are better than 21st in L2.

Writing that out though, it does read like a list of players that were good a few years ago and perhaps not now. Throw the likes of Woodyard and Hopper in and it does maybe feel like the Cowleys are getting the band back together once again. Seems like their book of contacts isn't too big.

Exactly that. Just a bunch of cloggers who had a good season or two years ago.

They're worse than what Lincoln were under the Cowley's.

It sounds daft at this point in the season, but given our poor home form - 19th worst in the League - we need a win here.

Last 2 games we have been terrible, look disjointed, with some poor decisions from Cook (I still love you Paul) - such as leaving subs far too late against Harrogate.

Naylor at CB has to end - he’s not a centre half but does a decent job, he is one of the best defensive midfielders in the division though, which is where we are losing the battle at the minute.

A couple players warrant dropping - Dobra being one who needs a game or two sat on the bench IMO.

I honestly have no idea how Tranmere are doing, so really don't know what to expect on Friday.

We were decent on Saturday in our defeat at MK, but we seem to be set up tactically as a team that is more suited to playing away. I suspect it'll be a draw, but really I'm just guessing.

eeesh, that defence concedes 2 easy. Fritten me to death if we play that. Dunkley has been training for a bit now and Araujo came on last game so must be available, so I'd play those 2 at CB and I hope Thompson is back. I think I'd try a bit of familiarity in the attacking 3, because something isn't working there the last few weeks.

Certainly aren't getting anything here. 3-0.
Check out our home form. It's a shambles

We do need to win in my opinion or a bit of negativity might creep in for the first time in a while and people might start to panic. Nobody can excuse our home form however, regardless of progress we have made on and off the pitch

I suspect, having drawn our first game of the season last Saturday, that having broken the seal, the floodgates will open and we see a plethora of draws for GTFC starting v Colchester.

As an aside, it was only a few weeks ago that Chesterfield were heading for automatic promotion with the best manager, team and fans in the land. Posters seem a little less enthused currently!!!

Dunkley and Araujo are first choice but doubt they are available. Naylor and Grimes doesn’t work. I thought Williams had a great game at Newport.

Would defeat put a bit of pressure on Cook?

A Wimbledon win tonight knocks us out the playoff spots, so come on Accy. With their games in hand we're probably just postponing the inevitable though.

No way but we do have an element of morons in our fanbase

We also have had great crowds over recently years who have been used to watching a winning side, we don’t want to lose momentum here either

Not sure how the Wimbledon player contrived to miss that. Was far easier to score than miss from that range.

Not the first time Accy have blown a 2 goal lead late on in the game. Did the same on Sky against us. Decent game that was.

How can that game be so bad, yet so good at the same time? 2 incredible strikes, a late comeback. Big concerns for both teams though, Wimbledon needed a miracle to come from 2-0 at home, whilst Accrington throwing away such a comfortable position raises questions, especially over Crellin, who looked hopeless.

Crellin putting in the worst performance in the history of professional sports made it a good ending.

I've not watched tonight, but are we talking of a worst performance than Jaaskalienan vs Plymouth????

We were awful tonight but were without our 4 best players. We didn't deserve a thing. Special mention to one of the worst refs performances I've ever seen. Apologies to anyone who wasted their evening watching that on tv.

We were missing too many tonight. I would have been OK with a point at start. However now need to beat walsall on sat.

Sounds a little harsh but I find having seen numerous relegation dogfights over the years the key right now with this sorted game
Isn’t fully the result, although getting anything is a huge bonus, but here it’s the performance……….

Can this team finally at home give fans a battling, scrapping passionate performance, quality wise this really should be a Donny win, we just need to get to January but can we carry on from the Wigan/Salford/Bromley games of scrapping, digging in, making Don aster have to work their backsides off to get a result…….that will be the sign of progress.

This type of game in the last 12 months is one we lose by 2-3 goals, don’t create a single shot and other side don’t get out of second gear, while fanbase gets angrier and angrier.

Last 3 games finally seem to have fans and players reacting and that for me needs to co tinie even in defeat, a sign that we finally are batttling and have something to build on

All depends how you set up, if you come and attack us, if you do it will leave space for us which we thrive on

Forgot about Billy Crellin. I remember Ian Evatt laying into him for tons of mistakes after a loan spell with Bolton in League Two four years ago. Bolton probably would've won the league with a competent keeper first half of that season.

Bolton were odd that season, they should of just turned up and won that division at a canter, especially considering the other 3 promoted sides weren't fancied pre season and smaller budgeted sides even for this level.

We hit them for 6 away in the middle of a spell of only 3 wins in 25 for us and Gilks in goal was probably their man of the match!... sadly no fans got to be there for it. Surprised Evatt survived that though.

Saw the goals .

Accrington keeper paid for a very poor punch and wasn’t great on the second either .
